Well it’s mainly to do with how deep the water is, whenever I fail in a barrel I instinctively put my hand out to not hit the sand on my hip because I used to in low tide. But usually it’s too deep for me to hit the bottom, though I would recommend watching iain Campbell’s guide to falling in barrels, he can explain it better than me
Is there something you do so that you don’t smack the sand? When ever I fall off in a barrel my hip hits the bottom. Thanks
