My theory was that Gold/Blake and his typhlosion died of hypothermia before being able to reach the area where Red was, so Red sings by himself until his final moments

Red has schizophrenia. He thought that Blake (Gold) would make it there alive, so that Frostbite could begin.

Some people have heard someone sing from afar at the top of Mount Silver, rumor has it that it could be the legendary coach and red champion... But it is said that the coach has been missing for a long time without a trace of life so perhaps it would be the laments of his soul in sorrow since no one has tried to climb for fear of seeing the horrors that await at the top.
That would have had an impact on the end of creepypasta.

Meanwhile, the stubborn corpse of what was once Red had a flurry of spasms, desperate for his soul not to give out. Yet it did, faded away because he in his foolishness, thought he could defy nature’s icy grip because he beat the strongest that humans had to offer.
