Thanks for the unboxing video! I just ordered a Yeti X and heard that it doesn't fit with the Radius III shock mount. Glad you were able to confirm that it DOES fit!
Hey, did you ever have issues with the built-in monitoring? I just got this mic and I love it, sounds great, but the live monitoring sounds odd. Almost echo-y like there's a slight sub-milisecond delay. It's not detrimental, just very noticable.
When I screw on my radius iii, in order for it to be latched on tightly it stands sideways and not in the correct position, otherwise it won't be screwed on all the way through!! Did this happen with anyone or am I doing something wrong? Also, I find adjusting the tension of the Compass boom arm very challenging!
What microphone are you using in this review? I noticed that "we" cannot see it, which is exactly what I am looking for. Do you think that the Yeti X would also be a good option in place of whatever you are using?
Thank youfor asking. It is the same question I have! All the creators are doing the same thing. Great demo but what mic or set up is used to do the video?
Have you found that the shockmount doesn't allow you to twist the mic into a convenient position if the arm is off to one side? The USB cable gets in the way, which makes the cardiod pattern tricky. It's fine if you're coming from the front of a desk... Very annoying though.
I have coming from the left so I turn the mic to the right ever so slightly. The usb cable clears the shock mount. I can see if you mounted it on the right side of the table, you could run into that issue. I do not know of any shock mounts that don’t attach to the bottom of the mic...
Great review and great microphone. Is there any way to fill in the screw holes on the side with grommets. Don’t know why but it’s bothering me that I can see inside the mic 🎙
I just got this boom arm, and I noticed that it’s not level. It leans just slightly to the right. Is that normal? Blue support won’t respond to my messages.
am i the only one who cant get the screw from the shock mount to the mic it wont work for me it wont screw in and that the one part of the video this guy doesnt show on the video
I've been seeing boom arm mounts for blue yeti (and variations) mics for a long time and what I don't get is WHY every single one of them shows the mic mounted upside-down. To me, that looks weird AF, and makes me think if that's some sort of design limitation in blue yetis, that they can't be mounted into the arm to look they same way they would if they were standing on a desk.
Does the radius III wobble for anyone else? I’m using the radius III with the original blue yeti and when I screw it in it doesn’t screw in all the way and it wobbles
@@SuprUsrStan Good to hear. From the people who have had theirs break internally, I'm starting to figure that they just haven't tensioned it properly and are therefore constantly adjusting those plastic screws. The idea is you're supposed to set them once and then never touch it again, they're just not built to be fiddled with 24/7.
How are you Stan great work on your videos. I’m currently in the process of shopping for a mic. So far all the retailers/dealers that are selling the yeti x are on backorder. The only listing on Amazon has reviews claiming it’s authenticity and the price of the yeti x on amazon has been jacked up to $350+ For $350 we would rather consider buying the shure SM78. Do you know of anywhere we can go to purchase the yeti x? Or would you be open to selling yours? Thanks a million Stan
I wouldn't spend anymore than $170 on this microphone. I had trouble getting my hands on this mic as well but I managed to snag one off of Amazon. You can get it off of Blue's webstore as well. Other places that sell this include Adorama, B&H, Dell and Bestbuy Online. I'd only get the SM7B only if the dynamic mic is what you're looking for. The SM7B is going to be a lot less sensitive and may need a cloud lifter to get gain that you're looking for compared to the Yeti X.
Thank you for the quick reply Stan! We tried the Blue’s website, bestbuy, and all their domestic online retailers including the ones you’ve listed. Looks like everyone is on backorder. The only listing I found is on amazon and the price has been hiked up to $350+
You can't compare this to an SM7B. Totally different in pretty much every aspect. Plus, you need an audio interface, one with good preamps, or a separate preamp like a cloud lifter. You're really looking at an additional $200-300 on top of the mic itself. There's plenty of good USB condenser mics out there. Check out Rode.
Do not buy Blue Yeti In India. They do not have any service center to repair. Be aware. Your hard-earned money will be lost if the mic does not work for any reason.

Yeti X is compatible with Compass but not with Radius shock mount. This is what Blue is saying.
i realize it is kinda randomly asking but does anyone know a good website to stream new series online ?
@Louie Brentley I dunno try flixportal. you can find it by googling:) -aries
@Aries Skylar thanks, I signed up and it seems like they got a lot of movies there =) Appreciate it !
@Louie Brentley happy to help =)
Lifesaver. I was wondering if the arm and shock mount were compatible, but I couldn't anything on the website about it. Thank you!
Love the video and setup - and the blue compass arm really looks good with the radius shockmount and blue yet mic
What a nice set up! Really liked your presentation and review points. Thoroughly enjoyed the video. Cheers!
WOW This is some quality content, this dude deserves well over a million subs. Good Luck!!!

I have the yeti x too and can confirm i cannot use the live monitoring it's too echoey.

Thanks...just buying one from your link...great video.
I have the Yeti Blue X and can confirm it'll pick up every noise in the room, and the next room, and your neighbors house...
Yeah, these days I run the mic about 10 to 15 on the gain with Nvidia Broadcast noise canceling to cut out the extra background noise.
i also have the yeti x and last week they were cutting the heating system pipes in my room and no one heard a damn thing
Did you make sure you set it to the right recording mode? Because of your keyboard I mean
Does it have to be upside down?
How has the arm faired till now ? Any issues ?
We have two! this is an amazing fix!
mine doesnt stay in place no matter how tight or loose it is can you help
how is the arm holding up? anything snap yet? or still as good as new?
Still good as new. It's one of my better purchases :D
It sounds so good imma buy it!
Great vid bro🤙🏽

Thanks, that's good to know. I am very happy with the Yeti X but not sure if it's worth investing in a arm and how best to mount it on my desk.
spIetty hi! I’m looking to purchase... does this for the Blue Baby Bottle SL?
Awesome review
You can buy a pop filter if you do not want the mic to pick up noise while gaming or chatting. Correct?
Pop filters are mainly for explosive “p” and popping sounds. It doesn’t do much for background noises.
Great review and great microphone. Is there any way to fill in the screw holes on the side with grommets. Don’t know why but it’s bothering me that I can see inside the mic 🎙
You can screw in the screws the originally come with the mic's desk stand.
can i use the arm without the shock mount? i dont have place for it 😂
I just got this boom arm, and I noticed that it’s not level. It leans just slightly to the right. Is that normal? Blue support won’t respond to my messages.
Shit, that's a dope ass set up, Stan.
I have the same mic set up but my compass keeps slapping back to its default position i tighten the joints and all
Hi Stan! In the video, the yeti x wasn't sinking. How did you stop it from sinking because I'm doing the same things but it sinks
am i the only one who cant get the screw from the shock mount to the mic it wont work for me it wont screw in and that the one part of the video this guy doesnt show on the video
3:43 next time you want to give a estimate of how long a cable is, your arm span from fingertip to fingertip is how tall you are.

theyre upside down because the mount screw is on the bottom. mounting it like that would allow the arm to up and out of the way as possible.
does anyone know how i can restring the shockmount?
Dumb question but can you use the Blue Yeti X with the Blue Comapss without the Blue Radius III?
Yes you can
Good overview mate!, cheers!
Does the radius III wobble for anyone else? I’m using the radius III with the original blue yeti and when I screw it in it doesn’t screw in all the way and it wobbles
It does for me no matter what I do
Hey! is it still working good for you after almost a year?
Yeah it works great.
Greetings, can you tell me if this Yeti X Microphone is Dynamic or Condenser? Thank you.
Condenser
How long is the USB cable.
I'm interested to know more about that sweet table.
I think he got it at ikea, but how’s your blue yeti x
What adapter do you need to setup a boom arm with the yeti x?
No adapter the kit comes with everything including the threads for the mic
How is the arm holding up?
It’s great, worth every penny. Took me a while to adjust the tension to my liking but it’s perfect now.
@@SuprUsrStan Good to hear. Great review I guess I need to finally buy one for my yeti nano since me PlayStation wanna vibrate my whole desk 😂
Void bought it a couple of hours ago and it’s okay 160 total the looks worth it
Does every Shock-mount made for the Yeti work for the Yeti X?
I assume you already found your answer but I recently bought the Radius III shock mount for blue & it works for the X!!
Can you make the mic hanging sideways or up straight Insta I’d of upside down
The mic is supposed to be up or upside down. Not supposed to be faced towards you head on
Does this microphone can be used with the rodecaster pro?
how do you get the gromet out
Hey Stan, do u know if the Yeti X will work with a regular third party boom arm, or do you really need to buy Blues own boom arm? Quite expensive.
It works with 3rd party mics just search up blue yeti mounts and the cheap options works just as good as the “official”
what table is that?
LMFAOO
