i live nearby the house where Matahari used to live with her husband in Malang. the house is a military police headquarter now and other than the exterior painting, everything is still remain the same as more than 100 years ago when Matahari used to live there. the house is around 30 minutes to the Singosari temple from where she copied her dance move. and her costume probably inspired by the statue of Kendedes or Pradnya Paramitha as the accessories she used resembled the the statue the most. the dance movement she copied from the carvings on the outer wall of the temple. fun fact is, the statue was made to immortalise the first Queen of Singosari, Kendedes, who was said to be the most beautiful and smartest woman in that era. and legend said that when Kendedes' thigh got exposed when her skirt blown by the wind, men would go crazy over her as the thigh shone like a sun (there the name Matahari). but this is just my thought.

No, I don't believe so. I think I remember it from a Stuart Copeland interview or biography of some sort.
In it, he remembered seeing Sting in some rock/jazz group, when Sting played an upright bass as well as an electric one & could sing very well. Which is a tremendously hard thing to do- play bass while singing. Copeland knew this, of course & set out after Sting to join him in what would eventually become The Police. Andy Summers was the last to join, as their original guitarist was (sp. ?) Henry Padovani, I think his name was....
But good point on your part about him not asking to be called that in the first place !!

The narrator's comments about Mata Hari leaving her daughter are insensitive and unnecessary. Women shouldn't stay in situations that are abusive just because they have a kid with someone. This man was determined to ruin her life and beat her. She needed to leave. Have empathy for someone in an impossible situation, and don't try to moralize something you couldn't possibly understand. I bet her abusive husband also used the "But your daughter..." card to try and get her to stay and take more beatings.
