This model vs the talica 8ii for live bait 20#-25# application. Targeting socal game fish like: yellowtail, yellowfin and bluefin tuna. Whats your take?
@@jandhtackle went with the saltiga after testing the free spool and saw that this new saltiga lever drag is on par with the star drag version, thus i felt the extra gear would help when the bft bite is finicky and I hook a bigger one. Got 430 yds of 50# max cuatro sittin on it with a short leader. Cant wait to bless it with a big fish!
@@jandhtackle why is that? It's interesting on the East Coast you guys seem to prefer the Talica and the Tiagra. On the West Coast you may get on a boat with 40 guys and see a couple. I won't buy one simply because they don't use the premium aluminum that everyone else uses and it just bugs me but out here you'll see Accurate, Avet, Okuma and Penn 2 speed LD's outnumber the Shimano pretty heavily. The Saltiga Star drag is also very popular out here. Interesting difference between the coasts. I'll stick with my Makaira SEA's and Accurate 500 and 600.
@@JeffSmith-eq3kc after a full season with the Saltiga I dont regret my purchase at all. Casted bait like a dream and even casted light jigs with it. The second gear absolutely helped when at deep color with hard fighting tuna 40lbs-60lbs. Really slowed em down and a couple times prevented that second wind. Plus it handled just about every other species of fish brilliantly from halibut to wsb, yellowtail to tuna it did it all!
@@jandhtackle dang! Thanks for the reply. Do you know if the saltist 2 speed comes in lefty? Do you have a recommendation on a reel similar to the this saltiga that comes in a lefty model?
Amazing reels. Just added the 20 to my collection. I have the 15,20,35 in 2 speeds 10,20, 30og, 30 and 35 star 🤪
Nice smooth reels . Waited 4 months for LD j35 hot 🔥 definitely a winner .

That's a nice looking reel. The 55 should work nicely with kings

Saltigas feel great!
Yes they do!
I like this spool than talica 10. It’s smaller than tac10.

Both are awesome. I'm never going to say don't buy the talica.

@@natebeefy good call!! I think it's a better reel than the Talica. Some fundamentals with the Talica just don't cut it.

Nice review
Would y’all say this is similar in size to a Trinidad 14? Trying to get an idea of real world line capacity
Great review...
I have the 50. Love it. Want this one to 🤣
I think I would have preferred this over my speedmaster two. I'm kind of a daiwa fanboy
They do make nice reels!
Is there a left hand model? If so what’s the model number
No lefties.

I just purchased it and noticed that when you turn the handle, it does not stop on its track. There is like a very slight free-play. Is that normal?
if only i could afford this lol
You will one day.
You could, prioritize! Fishing is life lol
@@uncletony3674 my parents would say “school first” haha but yea, saving up for a couple of things!
Can anybody answer me this question ? Does this reel have any handle back play ?
Sorry to my shimano talicas, but here came the father of the chicks 🐥
😀
!nice
Very nice
hope I win so I can get a new reel
Good luck!
Lo ve it!!
💙
How can i get the discont card? I dont understand
$500 reel and they put a cheap piece of crap for a handle ???? Why did daiwa out the nice handle on the smaller size reels ???
What don't you like about the handle?
Handle is so much real comfortable
Just my personal preference I like the handle on the bigger size reel Trust my when yr reeling from 1000 feet
