Hi, firstly very nice video. A question for you about your lens buttons, when you zoomed in to your lens at 01.58, your top setting is 2.5m - OO. What's the reason for this over the other settings, can you explain please? The reason I ask is I have a Canon 300mm 2.8 also, but it's the older, no IS version. It has a similar setting to yours and I don't know what is best for me. I am only taking photos of football games, nothing else. Any help appreciated.
Hi Vinny, thank you. :-) It depends on what you are doing. For German soccer it is the best setting for me. Could be not the best for others. But the AF is really fast.
the 2.5 to 0-0 is the 2.5 metres to infinity setting. basically, with this, your camera will only focus on anything FURTHER than 2.5 meters. so, if you are say in front of a fence, or through branches, it will not cycle all the way back to shortest setting, and back to subject. its handy if a fence is there, or if you lose focus, you get back to focus quicker. mine has three settings, 3m - infinity, or 3m to 6.5metres, or 6.5 metres to infinity. it just means that you have shorter fields of focus. mine is also old non is early model 300 2.8L

U should have shot on 2.8 and lower it iso
+Omar Qusous 300mm with APS-H is 390mm and the Depth of Field is very small. In-Fokus Images are not easy to shoot in fast Movement. So I try to use 4.5 or less (means higher Number) Aperture to have better Chance to get everything sharp in the DOF. The ISO up to 1600 is no Problem for the Newspaper, so everything is fine here.
Sehr cooles Setup. Überlege mir in 2017 auch nicht diese Kamera zu holen. 👌
Kann sie nur empfehlen. Ist zwar kein Megapixel Monster aber die JPG und RAW Engine ist echt top.
why did you use ISO 400?
What I know that is 100 is the best.
You need at least 1/1000 of a second shutter speed. The more, the better. Therfore I am using higher ISO. Remember: You will not see any difference between ISO100 and ISO400 from the 1D MkIV.
