- We love finding unique combinations and Duane Eiskant's 1985 Mustang fits the bill with a 351 Cleveland that he runs in NHRA Super Stock. Please be sure to subscribe and support our channel sponsor Testo by heading to Testo.com when you have a chance.
back in the seventies and eighties the 351 c was the one motor the Chevy boys feared in super stock class
Feared more than that factored the Ford 429 out of existence too carry as much or more weight than Cleveland’ powered cars
And still do!!😎
Especially Bob Glidden built Clevelands ! Dominated Pro Stock back in the day !
Yes they did look at what Bob Glidden did with it he destroyed a sea of chevys.
And , that's why I just had one built😊😅, cause I want to go fast 😊
Love the Clevelands been running them for years. Best small block on the planet.
Cleveland Rocks! I have a 73 Cougar convertible with 351C that ran best time of 12.25 in the 90s. Built a 393 Cleveland with Chi heads for my 76 Mustang ll that runs in the 9s at MIR track in Budds Creek MD.
Budds Creek. 🏁👍
My Pro Stick car is broke so I rode down to the last Pro Stick race at Budds Creek last week with a fellow racer. Wish that place was closer North.
351C in a Fox body. Should have been a factory option. Muscle Mustangs and Fast Fords was the best all-round HiPo Ford publication that ever rolled off a printing press. Great car, great presentation (as usual)!
The Cleveland was already discontinued by the time the foxbody came out. The last year of the 351C was 1974, 5 years before the foxbody came out.
Did you ever see the Super Ford magazines? I loved them too!
@@Mike583 now that you mention the, I do remember the magazine. It too was great.
@@alexcorona but had Ford had enough insight…
@@Mike583 I had those magazines as my engine was shown in oct 91 at maple grove for a ford meet.460 tunnel ram with 2 750 holleys
The 351 Cleveland 4 barrel engine has 2.19 big block valves and was outlawed for NASCAR because the engine flowed too much air. NASCAR required the 2.08 small block intakes to race. Best Ford engine ever. Semi-Hemi.
I am a Chevy man. But this is a super cool car. And i love that it has the Cleveland engine.
351 Cleveland, my favorite engine!!!
My hat is off to anyone who can make a car run that well with a Motorcraft 4300 carb.
The Cleveland is a monster of an engine, it’s basically a small block with big block heads.
Back in high school in mid 80s my buddy had a 70 cougar XR7 with a Cleveland in it the Chevy boys didn’t want any of that car. Car was beautiful and was so fast for what us young broke kids could get ahold of
Thanks Evan, love that combo. The Clevos rule down here in Australia…Best old school pushrod Ford V8 ever made. It’s the one engine all the LS guys fear…
Always like the four eye Foxes, and love the Cleveland engines! Evan, man you are really making me want to tear into my 351C 2V in my '73 Mach 1!
Just get some Aussie heads like I did and a mild cam. You’ll wake her up!
Would like to but they're hard to find around here and expensive if you do. @@artm5583
I ended up here after watching your episode about "Bill Hawk's 1967 GT500". Another great Mustang guy story!
On a raIl, driving with his right hand in his lap, amazing.
Had a 69 mercury cougar bought it with a blown motor 351w my first car Basket case built a 351c with 4v heads to put in it car was a beast and i was hooked on fords for life after that 🔧🚗🦊🐎👊🇺🇸💪
More great content!
Thank you.
351C has always been one of my favorite FORD engines.
Had a 59 pickup with a 351C in it.
Loved the sound and the power.
Those old cleavends was a beast! Had a LTD 2 with a cleavend ❤
It's Cleveland.
Cool video. Cleveland’s Rock! I’ve had a few Cleveland’s in my Fox thru the years with Auto/Manual Transmission’s and the fun factor shifting a Cleve at 7,900 with an in-line Long shifter thru a G-Force trans with a 9” with 5.13 gears is a sweet feeling!! Currently running a Dart block 427” Weesor combo but I’ve been collecting parts for another high fun factor Cleveland combo in the future. Keep the videos coming! I love watching them.
8 hours away an in another country but Maple Grove is still my favorite track.
The Cleveland is a special, and mostly overlooked, BEAST of an, engine.
I owned several through the years.
Absolutely one of Fords best.
Love those Cleveland's! Strong running engine!!!!
A Cleveland fox, nice!!!!!!
Hope to see more on the Shelby cars you briefly showed.
Thanks Evan
Thank you having I had an 88 Saleen at the age of 18 and 1990 I’ve absolutely loved fox mustangs my whole life put 50 grand in the red one you see for my avatar very very very little it was in bodywork. She’s a grip/street, full interior beast. Like I said I love them
Killer car and vid! Does not get much closer to stock than that. Complete with Motorcraft spread bore carburetor. Impressive!!!
Beautiful car! I love Clevelands!
Love to see the budget builds great job !!
Just seeing Duane's 85 Foxbody, makes me cringe now that I sold my 85 Fox 347 stroker back a few years ago. Had to sell either the 85 Fox or the 67 Mustang Gt coupe 460 big block. Just loved the 67 a little more I guess. Thanks for sharing Evan.
You lkept the right one. Had an 85 with a 460/C6 in the late 90s..car was a blast but not smoggable anymore in Ca...and couldnt keep it cool no matter what. Not enough grille opening
Love those custom tall valve covers, almost makes a 385 series look small!!
More Ford power straight to the asphalt! Always liked these four eyed Mustangs and the Clevelands powerplants... The Shelbys at the end are simply awesome...
super cool four eyed fox body!! Clevelends are the bafdest small blicks on the planet!!! hey if that red Shelbybhas the factory hood on it, thats a really rare big block with A\C car.
A MAN AFTER MY OWN HEART! WHO CAN FORGET GAPP AND ROUSH RUNNING DEAD WEIGHT BECAUSE THE 454 CHEVY DIDN'T MAKE ENOUGH HP. ONLY BECAUSE OF STEVE MORRIS DO I HAVE RESPECT FOR CHEVROLET BUT STEVE RUNS SMS BILLET PARTS, NOT CHEV. THIS IS REAL, GOOD JOB!!
Another really informative video for the "Blue Oval Fan" thanks again Evan for the tireless efforts you invest in bringing these interesting videos.
Awesome! I'd love to build a Cleveland powered New Edge at some point!
That would be super cool.
@@revanevanCleveland's and Windsor's everybody was trying to figure out which motor was better
I need to get a set of those rockercovers!
Awesome car.great video REVan like always.
Its cool how simple it is
Great Video I Have an 351 Cleveland 2 barrels i Came From Atlanta in 1986 an Rebuilt One I Will Find An 1985 thru 1993 Fox Body Mustang To Put it in Thank You For The Information Combination. The 1970 Ford Torino Fast Back I Have Dark Green Ivy Metallic Mean Joe Green I am Just Going To Buy an Jon Kasse Boss 521 and install it in The Torino Fast Back.
Awesome car getting it done Ford power forever baby keep on pulling the knot out of them boties and the horns off them mopars l love you
U got that right m8.fords 4eva
Duane has a twin brother. Nice guy.
Youse got some News to tell! All the things that get 4ord owners upset ..A factory rated 261 hp (73, 6 hp less in a Torino) or 275 hp ( mid 72) net engine in its last year in the Mustang, 4V Cleveland heads, alloy Boss intake, 750 cfm Autolite~Motorcraft 4bbl carb 4300-D, Factory C4 automatic in a Four Eyed Fox.Factory 4 bar with 9 inch, and all fitting that 9.206 deck emgine under the hood!
Holy Smokes, he's still running the Motorcraft spread bore carb ! Strange class rules 🤔
Wow so he's running the hated open chamber heads if it's all a 73'! That's running great for those heads! Would love to know what headers he's running in that.. we're doing a 70 Cleveland in a 79 fox!
I'll ask Duane to reply.
@@revanevan awesome thank you 👍
Kooks headers are what I’m using with the performance welding merge collector. Can have them off in about 15 minutes, once you know the order on how they go in the car. The small valve head is plenty the bore and stroke. They actually flow well and have better velocity.
Fwiw, the D&D Ford Specialty place in Pa used to offer swap headers that fit great and we’re user friendly with install/remove. The Hedman swap headers are ok once you cut the flanges to install two at a time.
@@duaneeiskantwhat is the stroke of your engin
Love the 335 series engines
Very very cool,, Thank you for your knowledge and video's USA 🇺🇸
Thanks for watching!
Awesome. As always. Good video
Thank you!
Those welds on that rear end brace tho. Pretty.
I noticed that too. My Fox 9” from Quick Performance is a really nice/quality welded up piece.
Bad ass! Cleveland FYeah
That’s a sweet ride.
Very nice car! But gotta ask what does CFYA stand for on the license plate?
Hey Blue! My guess would be "Cleveland F#cks you All." lol
351c only motor to make 1hp per cylinder
roller cam?
THE ONLY WAY TO BUILD A 85 WITH A CARB AND A CLEVELAND
Needs 18 point cage next
Just want to double check he said it was a 280 hp advertise but isn’t it a 266 hp engine because there is no 280 hp advertise 351 cleveland for 1973 for a gt car.Can you double check that.
Thought he meant Nhra rating ?!
Motorcraft 4 bbl carb !? 480 cfm ?
If done right they all feared the 351c....
What gear is he running ?
With 4.88 geats, it'll trap at 6800 rpm at 125 mph with 30 inch tires, so I'm guessin' 5.14s.
Only be more badass if you was doing it on the street
C4
I love this.love them cleavelands.
What, a Ford with an automatic? WTF!
Hell Yeah, a C-4 is a great transmission, if it's built right, mine been going Low 9,s for years now.
He's just addicted to those wheelies, its a torque monster not super fast, that race with the dodge was terrible, dodge won b4 ford wheels come back down
It's a Super Stock car, they supposed to do big wheelies !
SICK Ride!
