- With the end of the decade in sight, its easy to lose track of what all of us on the team have covered over the years. Our aim has always been to document the machines we love the most, and show them in the best possible light. We owe this video to everyone on our team, and to our friends who have helped us out with extending our reach. We owe it to the operators and maintainers of the steam engines that are all seen in this video, for showing us how trains have been, and still are, even better to see in person.
Most of all, we owe it to the 20,000 plus strong subscribers that tune in to see our perspective of the rail preservation industry. Thank you all so much for your love and support; we could not have made it this far without you guys. We hope you all will enjoy what we have in store for 2020 and beyond!
Shoutout to @SmokyMtnSteam whose video ended up inspiring ours. Check his video out at • 50 Steam Locomotives (... and his channel at / @smokymtnsteam

Bruuuh. That jolting at 5:15 must've tossed the crew around like ragdolls in that cab.
And they’ve gone even faster there
@@DynamoProductions-trains how can an 0-6-0 go mainline speed like that with what, eight, ten cars?
@@MiddletownBranchProd. It's actually only going about 30 mph. They were switch engines, built for high torque at low speed. 30 is about the maximum.
@@michaelramsey82 ah, thanks for the speed check. I know everything else tho.
2:55 love that whistle
Good choice
sound like earape to my ears 😣😣😣
@@idontunderstandittbh6220 that’s why I like it. Not may whistles have such a high pitched note.
The whistle at 2:30, oh my
15:03 My heart belongs to this museum it’s my home I have been going here since I was 1 and now I work here. With COVID it sorta made the operations a little boring because only people who were members were allowed to ride and that limited how many operations we did but the 3ft gauge railroad is now open 😁
This decade truly has been the greatest when it comes to railroad preservation. Steam is a wonderful thing to witness.
Thanks buddy
Love to see these old steam locomotives, because they remind me of my childhood
I am from São Paulo, Brazil
Here we used to call them Maria Fumaça, in English, Mary Smoke.
Glad you enjoyed
Meu pai era ferroviário, eu andei muito nessas máquinas a vapor, o trem é um transporte barato. Vamos parabenizar o Ministro Tarcísio.
Gracias
Great job on 20k. Loving these videos y’all make.
Thank you
It’s at Boone, it’s under going rebuild
@@thomassu5546 It's still in Iowa, it's getting the 1472-day inspection. The repairs are just delayed thanks to pandemic, it should be running in the next year. It will still burn coal.
The 8419 has been in Iowa since 1989. It was sold new to Boone & Scenic Valley.
It was built at Datong
23:35 gosh that echo is amazing
Same as the engine!
Awesome Video and Congratulations:)
Thank you
I liked this video. Well done guy.
Greetings from Brazil 🇧🇷.
I will follow your great channel.
Glad you enjoyed
Looked like the Jersey central train almost came off the tracks!
And trains are known to go even faster there.
@@DynamoProductions-trains oh wow! Lol
Although in 5:13. it went through 6 wheels but no carries in the bottom front, if the train would've went 150 mph it will derail. 6 wheeled trains aren't supposed to go even faster but, hopefully the trains tender carry it.
Awesome video. Love seeing it.
Thank you very much
16:45 I swear I had this toy when I was a kid
Great video, Thanks for presentation, from Germany
Glad you enjoyed
13:32
You couldn’t have gotten in 1 more so it would be an even 120? :). Such a great collection of trains. Love that you included the Grammling Locomotives and Thomas the Tank. Those Tank Engines don’t get as much attention as they deserve!
Maybe the 119 was a deliberate reference to Union Pacific #119?
You work with what you have
@@DynamoProductions-trains ATSF 3751?
None of us have filmed it
@@DynamoProductions-trains wait really?
Dude your video are great please sir don’t stop uploading videos sir
Thanks, and we are not stopping any time soon.
Happy you put strasburg railroad in this
Strasburg is probably the most vital one, especially with four operating engines.
5:18 woof that’s gotta be the roughest ride those drivers had
That wouldn't have made the best of videos
It looks so fast too
21:23 I noticed that the name "Maria" was painted on the side of the cab. I like it. Maria the Mogul.
Lovely video
Thanks
Pure delight from start to finish I love the Virtual Railfan cams with the big diesels and 100+ waggon freights But You Can't Beat Steam! What VRF wouldn't have done in the heyday of the Big Boys &C!
Glad you enjoyed
@@DynamoProductions-trains So am I!!!! :-)
A few corrections about the Cass engines. Heisler #6 was originally Meadow River Lumber, Shay #2 was originally Mayo #4, and Shay #4 was originally Birch Valley #5.
Thanks
14:46, 18:21: Nickel Plate Road 765 and Pere Marquette 1225 Polar Express 👌
What’s up dynamo I love all your videos including this one absolutely magnificent videos you make
Glad you enjoy it
What were the whistles on Cass WM Shay 6 at c. 10:17, and the Carbon County Limestone tank engine 17 on New Hope Valley RR in NC at c. 10:40? Two expressive gems!
My favorites are the B&O William Mason and the Norfolk & Western 611.
Excellent Video !!
Thanks
I love southern 4501
Good choice
nice. a brand new video
Awesome compilation!
Glad you enjoyed
Felicidades hermoso video saludos desde Veracruz México
Awesome footage
Thanks
What was the steamboat whistle on CNJ 113 at c. 5:13? Good sounding whistle and nicely composed and lit shot, BTW.
Wonderful collection, and gratz with 20k, and Merry Christmas and Happy New Year :)
Thank you
Me, a Pennsylvania resident and lifelong railroad buff:
"Been there, been there, been there...Need to travel there, there, there, and there...."
I wish the US had the conditions for Garratts instead of Mallets, would love to see them over here.
Only problem with Garretts is as they have the fuel and water as part of the engine weight, the engine gets less powerful the longer it goes. American engines tend to be more about tonnage, so the Articulated design became the norm in the US
This probably has to be the best Christmas Gift from your fans. Merry Christmas!
Glad you enjoyed
2:57 Oh jeez, that whistle’s so loud for just a little train!
14:19 I’ve seen this engine
I really like it
6:39 I love N&W 475 and 17:11 Little River Railroad
Good choices
475 is my second favourite steam engine in canada or america
Wow. This video has over 100 trains. Impressive. ☺☺
We've seen a lot over the years and the list will just keep expanding.
Amazing that there is a lot of railroads in PA
I sure wish Texas had steam central. The atx train hasn’t had the mikado running in years.
Fantastic stuff.
Glad you enjoyed it

9:26 gotta love that whistle, anyone who nows what type of whistle is it?
60 steam locomotive sounds almost like 4501
Possibly
What is 60 locomotive
Wow there going back
Por que nas composição americanas suam um vagão referente na calda composição e para que serve a utilização deste vagão.
Seems like #71 needs a new Whistle!
The 1225 gets different whistles all the time
amei liñdas filmagem
Bruh why is 28:38 the "most replayed" part of the video? What the heck even is the Granite Rock 10?
5:31
1:45 FRIEDA WHISTLE SOUNDS LIKE A THREE CHIME STEAM WHISTLE
Correct, that's a Crosby
I dont know what these number whistles mean
Lehigh Valley Coal 119 @ 3:29 badly needs a valve setting -- uncomfortable example of a loco way "out of square" that you (fortunately) don't hear often.
Apparently it's been rebuilt since that footage was shot in 2014
2:19 I thought it was a 4501
Have you done a video on narrow gauge steam yet
Now that you mention it th-cam.com/video/atB7SwdSMtc/w-d-xo.html
😊
8:08 is this engine still running, or is it getting rebuilt
The William Mason is not in service due to expensive repairs necessary, and is currently back on display inside the museum.

26:30 snow in Arizona? that's not right. it's way too Hot here!
um some it does in a handful of places and also in new mexico like santa fe and albaqurque
It happens, rare as it is
@@DynamoProductions-trains but it snows all the time in the southwest its cause of the mountains
It’s just rare to have steam running in the snow at GCRY.

i went to the cuyahoga valley scenic railway
I think you managed to name one of the few railroads not featured in this video

1:07 Why is that engine's body like that?
3:09 I like those side lamps
That's a cog locomotive, the boiler is slanted so the water stays level on the grades of 25% and up to 37%.
What decade are you featuring in this video? The title says 10 years, but i wonder what 10 years.
As the description states, this was an end of the decade retrospective that was uploaded in 2019.
#59 is Hesston! I go there to see steam trains.
#58 New Haven Inc. Found that steam train in (Read my other comment)
0:11 is that saddletank 0-4-0
Sure looks like it
i like Jersy central 113

6:02 looks like something a kid would love or somebody who's autistic, or maybe both. Was that an event, maybe? Did they have that 20+ years ago? That's on the list of things of my childhood right there.
That Thomas the tank engine has been running there since 2000
@@DynamoProductions-trains The nostalgia train brought me to this place. I found you thanks to a Thomas video. I watched Thomas before I was 12, but excluding nostalgia, not since. I was 10 or 11 when that began, as I turned 11 in fall 2000. Btw, the picture in my avatar goes back to when I started a blog.
Im autistic and i dont really like it because its thomas with cilynders. They could've hid them inside

That’s a Crosby 3 chime, there’s lots of them still in use on steam engines. It’s not surprising there’s a similar sounding one out there
5:13 Sounds like Frisco 1522
5:30 Sounds like GTW 6325
Why no Chehalis Centralia Railroad #15?
All of the footage used was shot by us - so only engines we filmed were included.
Did we miss the Black Hills Central steamers in South Dakota?
None of us have made it there yet. We’ve only recently really started flying out to new places. Our members are based in Maine, New Hampshire, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Tennessee, and California, so Black Hills Central is kinda far for all of us.
