    For outdoors I always prefer ballpoint / rollerball pens, if fountain pens, it should be a very lightweight and cheapish pen so that you can use it without worrying about losing or dropping it. Metal pens, no.

      I agree too. The pen should be light, cheap, easy to open and close, and not prone to dings when falling (no aluminum). Maybe something cheap like Delike Brass, Kaweco Perkeo, Pilot Kakuno, or one of the Chinese made clones. I am surprised he says that Al Sport is resistant to drops. I think a couple of drops on concrete (like parking lot) would cause quite visible dings and scratches on it.

    I need a clipper on a fountain pen or other else i am gonna lose it. If you put it in your pockets without a clipper it will fall out specially in car seats.
