Wow, it actually worked! I took a tour around the local supermarkets asking for a shopping cart that they could give away, and the 3rd shop I visited had one that had a little sketchy wheel! Now I'm looking to salvage two 16" front wheels from old kids bikes with suspension forks, so my trailer won't be hopping up and down so much. Thanks for the amazing and inspiring content, man! I'm one of your many quiet followers... ;)
You are adorable! And all the forks and the folks and the girls! Thank you this is a great build. I really liked how you used a carabiner and the chain links to add flexibility to the connection between the bike and the trailer - makes a lot of sense. Cheers!🇨🇦
Having built a bike trailer myself, from scratch,, I realised I made one serious mistake. The wheels were attached in a bracket made from steel strap, 25x 4 mm. This went over the wheel and the axle was attached this way on both sides. Unfortunately, on my first trip of 180 ks each way, I broke THREE axles. the bracket was too flexible. I overcame this for later trips by using bicycle frame rear triangle, the part that holds the rear wheel. This allowed me to adjust tracking and tilt to maximum performance. And for the towing coupling, I used a steering ball joint of an old car. That also worked perfectly. Your use of front forks would work for light loads, but on loads of over, say, 50 kgs I can see them twisting. Whereas my triangle system worked for loads up to 350 kgs. ( yes, 350 kgs. I had it on a weighbridge a couple of times.) And I still have that trailer after three long distance trips and some use over thirty five years. I have had to re-spoke the wheels once. I see this shows my wife's name as author, but it is actually written by me. Chris.
Very good video, thank you. You should have sown the finished product un a more detailed way and in situation a little more (30 seconds / 1 minutes, maybe).
Aloha again, my name is Callahan Welsh, and I would love to have you join my bicycle group sometime here in Maui, Hawai'i. (This guy is smart and funny and cool!....love this guy!)😁🙏🤙🤙🤙
Hi Alexandre! No, actually am not, it is really thick and the carabine was a decent quality one, as well. Although in the future I would like a better connection maybe to the rear fork or somehting.

So did you end up building one?
@@DancingTeapot Well, I found a proper bike trailer for almost free. So I ended up returning the cart. :)
@@Stickmasterrr about to say solid wheel barrow wheels be sturdy .

Funny guy
Nice setup overall. Are you concerned about braking with a load with the chain as a connector?

If it's ok for you to steal a $100+ shopping cart, I guess, it's ok for someone to steal your bike & or trailer?
He didn't steal it... he asked their permission.
They're more than $100
Much like the part where he said he keeps people who don't pay their dues trapped in a cage, the recommendation of stealing a cart was a joke.
Thanks for the concern, but yes - we did write the store for permission and like we said in the video, they usually have broken down carts available.
@@thexbigxgreen Correct I misunderstood, my apologies.
Shit.
He did not steal but by doing that you're encouraging people to break the law. This kind of video should be forbidden.
🙄no one took him seriously...but you
You can buy these shopping trolleys from the Internet.2 sizes.good investment i think.
