CNN's Nischelle Turner remembers legendary mouseketeer Annette Funicello, who died at the age of 70. For more CNN videos, visit our site at www.cnn.com/video/
She was my favorite mouseketeer! She left 7 years ago today and is still very much missed. I loved all the Disney movies and beach movies she made. She was also a wonderful singer! Thank you Annette!
Annette Funicello was an iconic figure for a generation. She epitomized beauty, character, and talent and finally in her later years courage. Like many American young boys I had a crush on her. May God bless Annette and her family.
Annette was a transgender - born a boy - and Walt Disney was a freemason, satanist ... doing A LOT of very evil things ... and helped to brainwash all the sheeple with satanic programming. I know it's hard to believe, but it's true.
Leaving this world with millions of happy faces, because every one who remembers you remembers a good thought, a good laugh, a good song, a good time. Angel got her wings.
Honestly, this was the best television show for children and adults that I can remember. We all loved it. Annette stood out because she was so sweet, pretty and easy to relate to somehow. This is a sad day after learning of her passing but she never left our thoughts. Ever. She defined an era on sweet pureness of young women every where. RIP from our Group!
A part of my past has passed away ...Thank you Sweet Heart for all the Memories! R.I.P. Mouseketeer ANNETTE ............MICKE'Y'? BECAUSE WE LOVE YOU!xxoo
Walt Disney thank you so much for introducing us to an incredible icon. Annette you will always be to their countless fans favorite Mouseketeer. This is is one time I will hate having to say goodbye like they did at the end of the MMC show. RIP
Annette was a classy lady. Adorable, sweet natured, lovable. I had so hoped her notoriety would spur research that would find a cure or prevention for that rotten disease.
I saw that documentary and i agree,I prefer to remember her as vibrant and full of life. I DO give kudos to her husband for being there for her during her deterioration.
I love you Annette. I miss you already. Only 17 and my idol and movie queen is gone. I wonder who else will fill that void for me. But I know even when I'm old, I'll look up at that picture of you on my wall. And know that your beauty and postive attitude will help me through it all. Rest in peace my angel!
As a child in the 70's, even before the MMC version featuring Lisa Whelchel, my first Mickey Mouse Club exposure was to Annette's gang; IIRC, channel 5 in New York would air the old black-and-white MMC shows. RIP, Annette, generations will remember you fondly.
so sad. on ctv news they have a documentary from 2012 like on of the above comments mentioned. i couldnt believe how she looked, my eyes just teared up. she had a great husband that was by her side, he would comb her hair, put her make-up on. now she's at peace. god bless her.
Tears stream down my face as I watch this and Remember how very Lovely Annette was. Graceful & Lovely to the end. We Love You Annette & will always hold you in our hearts.
Annette was the original girl-next-door.she was beautiful inside out and every boys dream.anita Bryant was pretty, but the difference between those 2 was anita was the type you had to wine and dine, annette was the type you took to dances, movies, the beach, and definitely home to mother.plus Annette was the type you could approach.why she had to get that horrible disease and wind up in a wheelchair well never know or understand.she was definitely 1 of the good ones.
I didn't realize the full extent of Annette's physical deterioration until I watched a brief documentary that was filmed in 2012 on her official website; there were recent interviews with her devoted husband and caretaker, now 81 and Shelley Fabares, who was a close friend. Tragically, MS had ravaged her physical appearance and she was almost unrecognizable at the end of her life. It is preferable to remember Annette as the vibrant and talented individual that she was before the onset of MS.
Annette said she can't sing .l think she sings well. A whole lot better than Britney spears Madonna Miley Cyrus Katy Perry Lady Gaga Cher Taylor Swift.
kickodude, There can be some cognitive impairment, especially in advanced stages, But yes, she was most likely very aware through all the years of declining health.
Someone explain MS to me. Did her mind break down with her body in the end? I saw a video of her husband talking to her. Did she process and understand it all like you and I without the ability to physically respond in any way? Or was she just a vegetable?
copyright2021 The Producers of Mickey Mouse said they new she would become a Movie Star. Although I don't agree she was favorite Mousketeer just because she was Italian

After the 70s it got bad but you are right about Lisa Whelchel.
I am upset hearing this.

Mickey Mouse Club shows with Lisa Whelchel weren't all that bad either.
that's because lisas also a sweet lovely lady.
Them's "The Facts of Life". XD
it seems then in the last years of hr life she lost both parents, had a dangerous fire and lost her ability to speak which is so much to deal with,
that looks an awful lot like grace to me
Looking at her brings silr toy face
more talented than Marlen Monro
