This was probably the best video on BCC boas I've seen, very informative and well delivered. I do agree, my BCC Guyanese is difficult to handle, my BCI Columbian is a breeze to handle, a much easier snake to handle. However, I enjoy both, and to be honest, I'm like you, I don't handle BCC as much because I realize he's not changing, he's just a typical stubborn BCC.

You get a chance at a branaquilla, jump at it! I have one of the litter mates shown in the video, and she is spectacular. Gorgeous, cool as a cucumber, and a pleasure to handle. I wish I'd bought a pair.
Do true red tails get 12 ft or are they typically 9-10;ft range cus they are step ups from dumerils boa and coastel carpets which tend to get 7.5 ft but can reach 8-9 ft .
Helpful information for me, especially about the feeding and husbandry of a True Red Tail Boa. These snakes abound with beauty and have needs which must be carefully met by the keeper. I would love to buy one for their beauty, personality and the respect and love I have for snakes.

Love the information you provide but in my 20+ years in the hobby I found that the surinames that I owned were very easy to handle and even take places, no different than the BCI I owned. My Peruvians and Argentines however were much more difficult at times. I've also found that surinames are not any more difficult to care for than BCI in my experience. Love watching the videos, keep up the good work.
In all honesty, I wish I had this when I got Cassidy my Guyana like about a decade ago. Felt like I hit every proverbial landmine I could aside from her having a sweet personality. As far as mistakes, I'm surprised she was as forgiving with them especially for a WC.

I am here for the breeding part because i have a pair which i just put together without doing anything else (i am not a breeder, just keeping them but just wanted to try it) and now i have a first litter of 21 awesome looking babies. ther were also 4 dead ones and 5 undeveloped 'eggs'. How long does it normally take for them to shed for teh first time? I know i have to wait for that before feeding them.

I found one years ago and he was a nightmare.. I thought I'd try again but after watching your video I'm convinced I'm not trying again😆 I'll stick with my Columbians.
Having a closed collection is critical. The ole " I've just got to have it!" Can bite one in the butt. Learned the hard way years ago. Patience is everything and if people really knew how patient real breeders that really care are, more respect would be given. Love seeing the size verses age of your animals Brian. So much conflict info and the newcomers these days of the net just want the straight up answers. Some of this info unfortunately is even given by those with experience and success. Young man that also produces some rentfro Suriname showed his 8ft 40 pound female talking about how most underfeed. Yes she has produced for him however too fat is too fat and life is cut short. These animals each generation can learn to " tolerate " much more but still does not mean it does them good to do so. Making their digestion evolve to our standards not good. They eat fish also Brian and even free range chicken legs from the store will pack on muscle and health. Fatty prey items causes most problems and prey being raised on formula foods. In other words you want the most healthy boas and reptiles, you need to feed the prey pure. I get live and feed the rodents organic fruits and veggies and hemp seeds for three weeks before feeding them to my snakes. The rodents loose the fat and clean out and give the boas better health and unreal muscle tone. Last twelve years survived cancer and other diseases on my own and had to broaden my education to do so. That also helped me to understand that animal and human health much the same. We are what we eat... literally. Had to get away from this hobby for years to finally learn something that could make me a better keeper than ever and most importantly healthier myself. Had to be open minded though. I'm really glad your being a Noah with the island location boas. I couldn't believe gus got out. Glad to know theirs others like yourself Brian. ✌️
Yeah, that loud music caveat really turns me off the red tail. If I'm not gonna turn it down for the wife, I'm not going to compromise for the snakes. Frankly, the boa imperators don't seem to notice the music. I see no reaction regardless how loud it is. Only my corn snake seems to react, and then only when I'm really cranking it, though of course I try to be considerate of her.

Love the info, but it was horrifying to see the snakes in this video seeming to "star gaze" and go verticle and almost over backwards... "star gazing" is a sign of IBD, a very contagious boa disease with no cure, which ends in death or uthenasia. If thats the start of IBD.... your whole stock is at risk. Really made me nervous. Hope your snakes are safe man. Hate to see you lose those beautiful animals.

True red tails have always been my favorite snakes my first snake was a Guyana red tail she lived to be 25 at 9 ft

They are trying to climb up to a rafter out of view of the camera. This is not star gazing.
