    Beautiful fabric..............I immediately though of a whole cloth baby blanket!!! I'm from Texas, so a little Kantha blanket would be light weight enough during warm summer days and nights!! I would consider adding a warmer backing for cooler months as well.

    My girls LOVE blankets, so I would love to keep the tradition of the fabric and teach them the basics of quilting. They are learning to sew, so it would be a great introduction.

    I've also been thinking of incorporating the Kantha fabric into a pair of jeans that go along with my jacket.

    Oh my gosh, I'm so excited because I saw that Windham fabric at my local quilt shop and knew I had to incorporate it into my Candice Ayala Upcycling Challenge 2019 project that I am making. So far I have used it in the back of the jacket and the top 2/3's of the set-in sleeves. I have even been trying to do the same type of stitching on the lower portion of the sleeves to continue the pattern of the running stitch quilting. This fabric is so special.

    I make junk journals and love to cover them with fabric.............the natural fabrics and stitching on this fabric would enhance any journal. I would also use scraps within the journal on some of the tags, as tuck spots or just as embellishments to add texture and color.

    Reminds me of Shibori, it's amazing how different cultures have similar techniques. Makes me want to learn more history and pull out those shibori UFOs

    Gorgouse fabric! I love the history, and your personal family story connection.
    Personally bibwould love to make an interchangeable vest or a baby quilt. And a big gorgouse bag for my mom! She would love this.
    So stunning.
    I love the colourful patched fronts with the light coloured back, tan or blue...

    Coordinated or matching bridal party robes. The fabric is lightweight enough to use as a cover up while bridesmaids and the bride prepare for the wedding.

    I'd love to make my granddaughter a skirt like the one you made, plus I'd love to make a fall jacket for her also. I'm glad to learn about this fabric as it's one I've never seen before. Thanks for sharing!

    The more I look at this fabric the more ideas I have............cosmetic bags or an overnight tote would be pretty. The bags or tote could be reversible and there would be no need for a lining since the back of this fabric is as beautiful as the front.

  • @cherishfaith06
    @cherishfaith06 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    I have a vintage pattern that I’ve been dying to use, a tailored shorts romper, with a full circle over skirt that is split in front, to show shorts. That would look great with the fabric backside peeking out from the over skirt, and accents of the backside on the romper!

    I love to make coiled baskets using clothesline rope and fabric strips!! I think scraps of Kantha would work well for such a craft......or I could make the basket without fabric and line the interior with Kantha!!
