I installed the kit on my 1120D and love it. I skid logs for firewood out to be processed. With the kit it acts just like my HST tractor. Simple kit that is pricy but easy to install
I live in tn and have mostly steep pastures we have to climb In low and it takes forever to get to the cows I didn't realize they even made one of these thanks for the info Neal
We have the rtx 1140 4 seater, me and 4 normal size guys were in it and it barely made it up our drive way, i was in low gear and had to floor the pedal all the way down and 2 of the guys had to jump off or it would have just stalled. Very weak machine. We dont need speed, it only goes 12 maybe 13mph on flat concrete which is fine. But absolutely no power or torque in low gear.
You sold me and I ordered the kit. Easy install and I can see several scenarios where I will love having that power. Already tried it out. Two things, the button in the middle of the handle releases pressure to bypass the screw option. Works great for slowing the speed, but pulls off when you pull to increase rpm’s. Bummer, wish it had a pin in it. The X900 has been difficult to shift since day one, I was told at my intro that they were just all like that. But with the hydraulic pressure at higher throttle it is impossible to shift. I have to throttle back down to change speed or direction. Well worth buying but suggestions for these issues welcome.
"all RTV's are hard to shift" is true to a point, but some do need adjustment. If your finding that dialing up the RPM's changes the shifting difficulty I'd suspect you could benefit from some adjustments to the neutral position.
Do you have to turn the hand throttle kit off when changing gears or can you leave it full throttle while changing gears? I bought a BOSS snow plow and thought about buying the kit for my X1100C, if it would be beneficial to have. Thank you
the transmission shifts by engine speed & placement of the foot feed which controls the fuel intake and a separate lever to the transmission normal use at about 1600 rpm the transmission shifts to a higher gear. This is just fine on level ground, however on hills when you push the foot feed all the way down the transmission wants to shift to a higher gear. The hand throttle bypasses the footfeed. pull the throttle out to max rpm and use the footfeed to just control the speed. the transmission stay is low range
I'm sorry, but I am still confused by something. What is the difference between V5245 and K7421-99450? When I go to build an 1100, both are presented as options under Sweepers with the V5245 costing more than the K7421-99450.
Neal, If Messick’s was next to where I live in Connecticut you would have the sale. Because of your previous video I took delivery of my 1100c two days ago. First drive up my steep driveway, with air conditioner on, I thought oh no, “I need get out and push”. Next day this video appeared. Perfect! Yet, while reviewing the operator’s manual it states in many places do not do what you demonstrated. ‘Do not use hand throttle while driving’. ‘Before driving the vehicle, confirm the hand throttle to be positioned to the low position’. These quotes and more can be found on page 30. Would you please clarify?
Messick's Yes and no. One statement informs not to use hand throttle while driving. Another statement informs “before driving the vehicle, confirm the hand throttle to be positioned to the ‘low’ position”.
Thanks Neal. I am appreciative of your extremely useful, thoughtful, videos. You have significantly increased my Kubota owner satisfaction. Let me know if there is any way I can convey my appreciation directly to Kubota.
The kit won't work on ALL 1140's. I got a kit and spent weeks and weeks with Kubtoa national and all said kit would work. But it will NOT work on mine. I am a licensed airframe and power plant mechanic.
Need some help. Live upstate New York around some steep hills. After reading many posts about x1100c having difficulty with hills, I’m thinking this might not be the right machine to get. Do you guys always have to operate x1100 in low when going up hills, what’s the top speed in low gear? Does engine still bog down going up steep hills in low? Thanks for the help!
@@MessicksEquip I was misled by an online post I read then. But, why does the 1100 manual on page 30 state this when the video and comments indicate you can use it while driving? "Do not use the hand throttle while driving the vehicle, always push the hand throttle back to the "LOW" position. Before driving the vehicle, confirm the hand throttle to be positioned to the "LOW" position."
I do maintenance for a farm that has these. I hate working on them. There is too many different things to lubricate, some work a spray, some with a great gun, etc. You have to check under the hood, seat and rear dump to check all of the fluids. They are great except working on them.

It will not help. The only thing that will help is a turbo kit.

you can leave it full throttle
Thanks for the info Neal, but why so much "dead air" at the end of the video?
Oops
Hi so can you do a box blade

Thank you Larry

It's a hydrostatic, it does not 'shift'

Is this the same as the older 1100's have?
Are the doors on this hard cab removable so you can have an open cab
The RTV 1100 doors lift off the hinges. You have to disconnect the gas springs first, but it's pretty quick and easy.

Would not know why. All the applications for the hand throttle are not stationary
Is it telling you not to adjust while driving?

Any options like this available for the RTVx1140?
Is 3000 feet above sea level considered high altitude for the 1100.
no
what is the part number for the kit im interested but im in new zealand thanks
could be totally different in NZ. You need to check locally.
Have you ever put a turbo kit on an RTV?
No, but I hear good things.
