Jennifer Rush is always so incredibly humble in every interview....and in any language....All these decades later, she is still a beautiful human being, with a wonderful Soul ❤

Sie hatte vorher "You´re My One And Only" gesungen. th-cam.com/video/j7gBZS-Gpc4/w-d-xo.htmlsi=yS4ahArGrTwBQHFN

Hi there, can you tell me the name of the New York based movie that is playing in the background of Jennifer Rush's song, 'The Power of Love', or any further information on why the director chose the 'hitman' style movie content for this love song?

Hi, Dean. The footage was shot specifically for the music video by Mike Leckebusch, a director who passed away in 2000 at the age of 62. Because of his passing, we'll probably never know for sure why he made the creative decisions that he did. According to Jennifer Rush, her record label hurriedly compiled the footage that they had shot after she surprised them by flying herself to the UK to promote "The Power of Love." With music videos still in their infancy, following the launch of MTV in 1981, many videos from that era were notorious for their unusual directorial decisions. Admittedly, it is a strange music video set to a glorious vocal by a gorgeous genius of music, and the mafia subplot is a real briainteaser, but the craziness of it sort of works in a 1980's type of way (if that makes any sense). As Jennifer often says, it's best not to analyze music too much - though - heh - that music video certainly tempts all manner of analysis. Thanks for watching!

Thank you so much for that enlightening reply and inside scoop! Had the director lived just one more year, he might have noticed some uncanny parallels with the conspiracy interpretation of a certain NY day in September: the twin towers front and centre in the opening and ending shot, some guys with briefcases up to no good, their victim wearing a #7 (the enigma of building 7's collapse), the many elevator scenes, and the American Airlines booth around the 3:00 mark in the official video. I'm just aware of the conspiracy theory...not necessarily a subscriber to it.
