@@Maxშემიწყალე So many comments / complaints about the way I pronounce words and the words I use😂Router vs router, tomato vs tomato, kali linux vs kali linux, mall vs mall, double inverted commas vs quotation marks etc etc. Thank you for your comment 😀
I'm from the US and I find that English spoken by people from the U.K. just sounds smarter 🤣David, thank you for EVERYTHING! You have helped change my life!
I swear to Allah David you wouldn't imagine how this video has changed my way of thinking thank you so much sir. Now I need to resume my learning path with no excuses nor the distraction on things that I don't have any control of. Huge thanks to you again
I watched last year's video. And for 2023 I decided to get into networking. On Dec 28th I got my CCNA and on the 29th I got a job. Thanks David for being someone that says the things people need to hear.
@@davidbombal Great video as always full of positivity. A request: plz record a video regarding how to showcase networking(service configurations for system administration or firewall configuration) portfolio projects(topology & configurations, running-config, etc) to something like GitHub (other than LinkedIn), so that I can mention it in my CV and any recruiter may have an idea about me. (I tried Github but somewhat couldn't do it as efficiently as it should. ) Thanks more in advance...
What type of role did you get with CCNA? I got mine about 8 months ago and im struggling to find someone that will give me a shot without prior IT experience. But instead of giving up, im learning python to learn how to automate the stuff I learned during the CCNA.
I'm 16 years old, I stumbled across your account 2 years ago, I'm from India, The people around me never supported me. I loved tech and gadgets. After you, I learnt Coding and Learnt your course on Linux. Now I've grown soo much Thanks to you, And I will continue to grow.
Hi david sir i am from india and my parents can't afford to buy laptop for me , so i am working for past few months and i earned enough money to buy a good laptop and tomorrow is day when i am going to buy a laptop and from that i will learn cyber security and will try to make career out of it . Its all because of you david sir, Thank you for your inspiration one day i you will be interviewing me in this channel, Happy new year sir❤❤
I'm a 41 year old mom of 3 with a full-time career... and am in college full-time. I just graduated (Dec 2023) with an associates degree from a community College, and now have transferred to a state college to work towards my B.S. I am definitely working hard to secure a better future!
Thank you David! Im 51 and just enrolled at my local University to study cybersec this year. I have some networking experience, but i am a Carpenter by trade. Your content is always clear, concise and on point. Very grateful to have found your channel.
My wife does not understand, why I often sitting in front of my PC to 3 - 4 AM on Friday and Saturday nights. This is almost the only time where I can immerse myself in learning something new without any distractions. Maybe I will not learn 1% new stuff every day, but I am happy, if I can lift my knowledge 3% per week. In 2023 I was able to change my career from being a chemist to become an IT specialist. My goal in 2024 is to learn a lot about IDS, SIEM and IT governance / compliance.

the first 10 minutes of this video brought tears to my eyes, I am stuck in a loop that I have been trying to escape from. I started to work on ships at the very next year I graduated from high school in 1997 can't afford university. and I can't say that I regret my decision because at the time it was the best I can make to help my parent financial, I am the first son in our family with 4 younger siblings but the seaman life is a kind of isolated life especially in those days, so when I wanted to started a new way of living like right now that I have a little daughter who always wants me to be around her, I am so limited to take any step to get out of this situation I am currently on because not enough information, knowledge or skill. but now I am gonna try to do what you are telling me to do in this video I have to be discipline doing the change step by step I hope I can do it and succeed . Thank you for this video and wish me luck.
This video is awesome and truly inspiring. Last year, I knocked out CompTIAs Sec+ exam. I'm still trying to break through, but one goal has been accomplished. To all those reading this. I hope all of your career goals are met in 2024. #canthurtme #goalsrealized.
I was not expecting that intro but it was truly powerful and I needed it. I came from a background where I didnt know anyone in tech (still don't) or planned for success. I wasted years of my life partying and making dumb decisions. Over the last few years I realized I only get one shot at my life. I dont get to relive yesterday, last week or last year. I became very motivated and worked hard to get my Security+, Network+, and CYSA+ and I am currently a Data Center Engineer at a large company but my dreams dont stop there. If I can do it you can too. A quote that pushed me was "The best time to plant a tree was 10 years ago, the 2nd best time is right now."
Thank you for this post. I'm encouraged at 47 to learn Data/ Business Analytics and Software Testing. I use to think at 47 I was too old. Now I believe I can do it
David’s tips actually work BTW. I started in tech as a glorified secretary at a data center in august 2022 and now am a network engineer barely 18 months later. Mostly it was David’s tips on things like getting a CCNA, making a good resume, presenting yourself well, and believing in yourself that made me think I could do this as a job. Do the work and you’ll be amazed.
You're not an engineer of anything unless you went to school for at least 4 years in a certified engineering program and even then you'd only be an "engineer in training"
@grizzly_magnum9579 not true employeers value skills which can be specifically learned for a specific role. You don't need a degree you need job ready skills and some experience. The world is changing 😊
Thank you David for the killer intro! I grew up in an area that has the highest crime rates in America and I came close to being to deep in the life but my hunger for better is what helped me make it out and now I'm a Cybersecurity Architect for one of the biggest tech companies in the world and I did it without a college education. Seventeen certs since 2013 and counting ❤
Your comment encourage me to collect soo many certificates as I'm cyber security students now and I will collect it one by one ......... I will never be tired to study , THANK YOU
@@AbdiazizIbrahim-o3c Thanks man happy to hear you’re in route for more yourself, it’s a great way to stay up to date and grow self knowledge base let’s go 🤙🏻

56 years old and very inspiring video with so much truth. Enjoyed all your videos ive seen. so much I've been reading the Basic linux and even have a old Toshiba laptop. Still learning the laptop out as last time i used a computer was with windows XP and dial up network. Thank you
David, these tips for 2024 are more thorough and wide-ranging than your 2024 tips with OTW. Seriously, you really nailed it, and were farther reaching, more expensive. Great vid.
Minus A+ I'm the same. Born in '70, I'm learning Linux with encouragement and education from David, Occupy, and others, with Python waiting for a little better grasp of Linux prior to taking on another language. I'm coming from owning a demolition business, and I think anyone who puts in the time can do it.
I'm hoping to retire next year at 55. My goal this year is to be more serious and consistent with my investments I've been investing since I was 22. 2024 is going to be more serous for me investing consistently for the long term. starting to save for a house down payment. I want to invest more than $105k, but I'm not sure on how to mitigate risk
Its unclear which stocks and sectors will lead the market in the next uptrend. It is advisable to diversify while retaining 70-80% in secure investments. looking at your budget, you should consider financial advisory.
A good number of people discredit the effectiveness of financial advisors, but over the past 10years I've had a an advisor consistently restructure and diversify my portfolio/expenses and I've made over $3million in gains... might not be a lot but i find myself secure financially
Samuel Peter Descovich is the analyst that helps me. He has a large following and is easily found online. He has extensive understanding as I have made so much since following him.
I couldn't believe it. I was in the kitchen cooking dinner with TH-cam running in the background when this video came on. It was your Voice, but you're not talking about Python, or Kali... Your talking about David Goggins!!!! Stopped me cold in my tracks!!!! I don't usually leave comments, but I just had to say Thank You for this GREAT Video!!!!! I really appreciate listing to your videos and I am trying to learn more about Python and Linux. But the investment in countless peoples lives that THIS VIDEO makes really touched my heart. Thank You for all you do. I am a bit of a news junkie, and I'm sure your right about the news. I just need to turn that crap off...
Hey David! I'm just a 15-year-old tech enthusiast dropping by to say thanks for the constant motivation. This New Year, I'm all in for leveling up my knowladge in the fields of IT. Dreaming big.. Here's to a year of learning, growing, and seizing awesome opportunities. Thank You!
Yeppers! I am doing it this year. At the beginning of December I started a cybersecurity bootcamp. The hardest thing is i have 20 years of bad habits to change. But piece by piece I am going to get it done.🎉
Over the past year, I found myself becoming increasingly complacent, which led me to start studying for the AZ-104 recently. The impact of not studying regularly for a whole year was quite significant for me. David, your motivational video is truly inspiring and solid.
You nailed it! I related the most to what you said about cutting off people who bring you down. In my case, it was my own family, but, depressing details aside, after cutting off that negativity, my life took an exponential turn upwards. Looking back, I can't believe I allowed myself to live that way for so long. Thank you and may your 2024 be full of new, exciting things!
To everyone here. The worst thing you can do is to compare your learning skills to others. Everyone learns differently, and grows up differently. If you don't catch on quickly on certain subjects, that's ok! You are a different learner, and tell yourself that and you'll be ok. As long as you keep trying.
I can’t express enough how this message came at the right time. Currently pursuing my masters in data engineering at the age of 42 with nearly 20 years of experience working at a power plant. It’s been a rough year but seeing this video made me realize that I just need to push on through. Much appreciated
David... you are soooo RIGHT, when time flies (~8:40) ! 10 years goes by as fast as you turn 180°, and 20 years goes by in a BLINK OF AN EYE - AND YOUR BODY FEELS IT!!!
Totally agree, David! Your videos are super motivating, and those book suggestions are on point. It's cool how you cover AI and tech stuff. The comments show you're helping all kinds of people, from newbies to pros. Thanks for making learning fun and keeping things positive. Excited for more videos in 2024! 🚀 #NewYearNewSkills #YouRock
David, you have always been inspiring us from the most inexperienced to the advanced. Thank you for all your encouragement and teachings. Thank you for making the content for us💪🏽
Jocko Willink is a great inspiration and his motif - “discipline equals freedom” - has become my mantra in the last year. Can't recommend his stuff enough for motivation and personal freedom.
@@davidbombal Do you have any advice for a teenager who is an intermediate in cybersecurity to get better, and also how do you have any advice for a teenager 15-17 year old. How do I tell my parents that i don't do illegal things but do legal Would be very happy to get advice from my favourite cybersecurity youtuber!. Also they are not ready to buy me a personal commputer to enhance in my hobby till i get the age of 20. You gave me motivation to shut off the t.v and start exercising and studying more about cybersecurity. Thank you!😃

Gavin's video now has 180K views and he has made money from bug bounty etc.
I have to admit over the years I have watched or read countless "insperational" things....this is different much different I have never had something hit me like this. What a well thought out delivery of incredible attributes, thoughts, feelings etc. I am decided just this moment I am going to listen to this video every single day for 30 days as soon as I wake up. I know along time I listened to specific 30 min audio file from one of the greats "Earl Nightingale" I must of listened to it 100 times and still on the 100th time I was picking different thinks up that I didn't hear before, not that I didn't hear it BUT I remember many times where I actually heard it if that make sense. All the dots connected, it made more sense etc. My point is when I disciplined myself to do it I had some incredible successes and rewarding times in every aspect of life. I am going to this for a month everyday, there are Diamonds 💎 in this thank you, thank you, thank you. I subscribed. ✌️
I can always depend on David for some motivation! Whether it's a video about a perticular technology or simply a motivational IG post❤️🔥 We'd really love to know more about your story, you're the best Cybersecurity/Tech TH-cam channel & have impacted so many lives For all the things you do for this community, Thank you sir!!
The "constantly distracted" part of your talk hit me hard, it's been me my entire life. Another thing to do for everyone, make sure your mental health is taken care of, I literally could not stop myself from being distracted until I got on the correct medication. Recently diagnosed with ADHD, constant underachiever. No amount of willpower can counteract neurological issues. But now, got the help I needed and I'm full force moving into penetration testing because of guys like you, OTW, and John Hammond. Thank you David you're one of the absolute best guys on TH-cam for helping people move into a new field!
David, Happy new year! Wishing you and your family a wonderful new year. Thank you for the great content you make! Here's to another year learning new skills! 🎉🥳
Thanks for sharing David, been following you for years. I have been in IT for a while, working as network admin for the past 5 years in a large refinery. Really have been leaning towards Pythin and maybe cloud. It seems Python is that one thing that can really help with a lot of different paths (network automation, development, deveops, cloud, cybersecurity AI) at least thats how I see it. Found a really good course that helps with getting the basics down. After that I will take a more advanced python course with projects. Hope to get remote work one day.
I am 18 years old, and I went to a trade school and got my A+, Network+ and also Security+ (all paid for by the school, thank God). While I was in school, I was always trying to tell people how bad social media was for them and how there are so many better uses of time but everyone just kind of laughed it off, now that I am graduated, I have taken control of my life completely, I go to the gym every morning at 4:30 am and I eat properly, In the past 7 months I have lost over 25 pounds! I don't have much "spare" time to learn ethical hacking on my own, but I still try to make the time for it. Have a good 2024 David, look forward to watching more of your videos!
A random search led me to you and couldn’t be more excited - it’s is nice to hear my thoughts echoed by someone successful who is advocating things I have started to put into practice over the last year and half. Atomic habits allowed me to lose 30 lbs, put on muscle and be confident in my physique. I’ve also started my undergrad and have completed 80% of the degree within this year. You speak the truth and i hope more people listen and act on your message.
I watched the 2023 version of this video last year, It helped make drastically change and improvement in my life , I got two certs in cybersecurity, finished a 6 month boot camp . Now preparing for security plus and about to delve deep into cloud computing. Thanks David 😊
Predicting market movements is extremely difficult in reality. It requires the investor to be right twice: Essentially why individuals engage the service of experts who provide proper strategies to navigate the markets
I don't know who can have negative comments against what you do, because everything that is on your channel is to help others. Thanks for all that you do
thank you david! im sure this will get buried in the comments but i have been getting into cybersecurity for some time, still young and in high school at the time of typing this. i've built my experience off of your videos among others, and i hope to improve them this year. this includes hosting my own servers on raspberry pi's, coding on github, arduino boards, or building homelabs with docker and kubernetes. overall a good video and i also hope to improve everything this year.
Can't agree more. I get up a bit earlier, spend 1 hour writing, and take a walk every day. I don't know how it will be, but I feel it really works. I control my day easier. At work, I follow 3-3-3 method. After work, I spend time with my beloved wife and kids. Also, getting to bed a bit earlier.
This is an important motivational video for life itself, no matter what your current state is, if you improve your mental state, your values, your core being 1% or 0.1% each day, you will be able to achieve great things and fix yourself. Unfortunately, some people are alone in their journey, without guidance or support - I am sure your videos are a guiding light for them. David, thank you for all of your positivity and rigidity. Keep doing what you're doing, keep inspiring, I appreciate you!
Hello David, my name is Mesut, and I'm 43 years old. I've always had a passion for technology. A year ago, I made a significant decision to start a cybersecurity engineering course, and during this journey, I began following you. I genuinely appreciate the excellent content you create. Congratulations on your success. This was a huge step for me, considering my challenges with ADHD and lacking a tech background. Despite my age, language, my time and previous work in the service industry, I started the course and recently began a 45-day internship. Your video was fantastic, filled with valuable advice and motivation. With that inspiration, I kindly request you to create a video addressing ADHD individuals in the tech field. There's a significant portion like me, and your insights would be immensely beneficial. Wishing you and your family a Happy New Year! 🙏
Thank you David...im almost 50 and i want to understand tech better. Im literally starting from scratch, but i feel positive regardless. With people like YOU around i can achieve my new goals. I didn't leave school with any qualifications and had a tough life because of it. I wont give just yet...python, AI, promt engineering is where i want to start, and then carry on from there.
I was heading nowhere in my life during my 20s. Dead-end jobs. I made the switch to IT 6 years ago and am on track to IT Director. Started with nothing but an A+ cert and no degree. Only in IT can you climb like this!
I woke up feeling miserable today and ur video fully changed that around. One of the best video I have watched on TH-cam in a long time. And I literally watch TH-cam all day everyday
i am succesful just because i followed my thouts, intuition and were focused on goal not on what other people were saying or worse, what you think someone is talking behind your back. Keep focus on goals and keep learning :)
Love you bro. Haters might hate but you are one of the ones who encouraged me on the path a couple years back. I have taken the advice I liked from your videos and ran with it. Things are great with the job but I have to say I am worried to take the next step. I love what David says about not being smart but putting the work in. Thats exactly what I have done and some of that is thanks to you. Here is to the next year. Great video.
David, I started following your channel about a year and a half ago. Your content has given me the inspiration I needed to continue learning about cybersecurity and to finish my degree in 2023! I cannot thank you enough for the work you do and the quality of the content you produce. For anyone that doubts the principles in this video, I'm living proof that you can change your life in a very short period of time! I got a degree in cybersecurity in 15 months while working a full time job. 1% better per day goes an incredibly long way to ensuring your future success. Don't give up!
Big focus on cyber security for me. Over the last three years, I've helped our company develop a robust defence in depth strategy, looking at various tools that can help our customers better secure their environments in the process. AI and machine learning have played and will continue to play a huge role in that and this is where the focus is for me. Superb video David. Keep up the excellent work 👍
I have known you from a UDEMY course back in 2020, and I love your content, really mature and a positive energy to push people forward to rise up and succeed. Thanks for everything you taught us. You have a very good set of traits as described in the teaching of Islamic Ideology and Quran that encourages every human to be a better person every next day and help others along the way. Massive respect and love to you from Pakistan.
I am from India and I work in IT. Almost everyday i listen to Audible when I come back from dropping my kid and school and on the the way to pick up. It is roughly 10mins up and down depending on traffic. I listen 1.5x or 2x and I was able to finish 4 books plus last year and some really long tech and health podcasts like Huberman, Lex Fridman etc. It is a very good service to pay for.
I'm 21 and I love his videos so much . I'm new in tech but I'm really passionate to learn these skills in 2024. Thank you so much to make these types of videos. 😊❤
My tech-skills are a mile wide, and about an inch deep (to quote David lol). The challenge for me is separating "things I want to learn because they're fun and interesting" and "things I could learn to help me get a better job". I was working as Customer Support for startups for years, but now that everyone has "remote experience", my skill-set is not nearly as unique as it used to be.
Wow needed to hear this today!!! as I’m 45 just got laid off from a salesforce admin, customer success and many other duties they threw at me when working for a startup. I’ve always had the opportunity to land a decent paid job although I don’t have a degree but do have a few low level certifications but today will be my first day going back to school as the job market has pushed me to. Thank you for this post. Let’s all stay focus and believe in the process with the end in mind.
Who on earth sends you negative comments on TH-cam? Talk about a waste of time... All you do is give us knowledgeable quality content and the inspiration/motivation your channel gives me everytime I watch one of your videos is so helpful. Thank you, I look forward to the new videos in 2024!
I don't think it's possible to have a social media following without getting negative comments. Some people just like to hate / complain etc. I get some really bad ones unfortunately, but I ignore those haters and focus on the amazing people like you that watch my content. Thank you. 😀
@@davidbombal I don't get the "old" comments either. With age comes experience and knowledge. Anyways keep the great content coming! I love the videos with Occupytheweb and Neil Bridges. :)
So I've configured L2 and L3 switches multiple times on Packet Tracer. I finally was commissioned.to setup and switch for one where the long term memory died. Any time it would reboot it would lose its configuration. It worked without a hitch. It felt so good to finally put into practice what I've been working at. I want and will do more.with networking. This is due to being inspired by you, David. Thank you.
Thank you David. I just graduated from NU with my masters in Cybersecurity and am anxious to start my career in this amazing field. I really appreciate your kind helpful advice on your channel.
Happy New Year to you and your loved ones. Accents is never a problem, my accent is heavy & I have been here for nearly 4 decades. Mr David. Good time of the day. I followed you about 5 years ago. Was ccnp. Now i lost it. Now il going ccie. Thanks for the vid. That success school is op.
For 20:30 I agree, it's not going to take YOUR job you're already an expert, it makes your better, faster. But the guy outside, the junior, the one who does not know. It's going to have a very hard time when before you needed four people for developing an app and now you only need one person.

I watched such a video on the skills to look out for in 2023. I started my Cloud journey with the AWS CCP certification. Learned a bit of Linux and now learning Python. Building these skills is the ultimate goal for 2024. Wonderful video Mr. Bombal👏👏👏
Get these skills in 2024! Or at least get started.

I watched last year's video. And for 2023 I decided to get into networking. On Dec 28th I got my CCNA and on the 29th I got a job. Thanks David for being someone that says the things people need to hear.

@@davidbombal Great video as always full of positivity. A request: plz record a video regarding how to showcase networking(service configurations for system administration or firewall configuration) portfolio projects(topology & configurations, running-config, etc) to something like GitHub (other than LinkedIn), so that I can mention it in my CV and any recruiter may have an idea about me. the first 10 minutes of this video brought tears to my eyes, I am stuck in a loop that I have been trying to escape from.
Excellent. Keep up the good work. 👍🏾
Awesome, happy for you and great to read this.
Fantastic story! Thank you so much for sharing! I hope that 2024 is your best year!
Awesome! Inspirational.

David, these tips for 2024 are more thorough and wide-ranging than your 2024 tips with OTW. Seriously, you really nailed it, and were farther reaching, more expensive. Great vid.
Thank you! Glad it was helpful! Make the most of 2024!
Best thing you can do to derisk is diversify.

But the investment in countless peoples lives that THIS VIDEO makes really touched my heart. Thank You for all you do.

Dreaming big.. Here's to a year of learning, growing, and seizing awesome opportunities. Thank You!
Great to hear! All the best for 2024!
You cannot change the past, but you can change your future! Make the most of 2024.
He is not only from India

All the dots connected, it made more sense etc. My point is when I disciplined myself to do it I had some incredible successes and rewarding times in every aspect of life.
Btw, I am not saying do not learn Python. Learn both. You will make it!

For anyone that doubts the principles in this video, I'm living proof that you can change your life in a very short period of time! I got a degree in cybersecurity in 15 months while working a full time job. 1% better per day goes an incredibly long way to ensuring your future success. Don't give up!

Thanks to 2024, i found a great teacher like you Sir, you a ocean of knowledge❤

Great example! Thank you for sharing! Agreed - Audible / audio books make such a big difference! Also podcasts like Lex and Huberman.
One of the most important skills to have with anything you aspire to accomplish is...
Motivation!
Thank you.
The First 13 minutes of the video are precious. Just wonderful advice that can apply to everyone.

I agree, it's not going to take YOUR job you're already an expert, it makes your better, faster.
But the guy outside, the junior, the one who does not know. It's going to have a very hard time when before you needed four people for developing an app and now you only need one person.
