- The trail is getting a bit more manageable and I’m starting to put in some bigger miles. Unfortunately, I just got some bad news from home and it looks like I will be getting off the trail for awhile.
I hope you enjoy following my channel. My videos are, for the most part , unscripted and authentic documentation of my experiences. I intend to have fun on the trail and I’m having fun sharing my experiences with these TH-cam videos. Yes, I’m kind of a goofy guy and I think you might enjoy watching me stumble my way down the trail.
My gear list:
Big 3 - Nemo Hornet 1P tent, Kelty Cosmos 20 degree sleeping bag, and Hyperlite Junction 40 liter backpack.
Shoes -
Topo, Ultra Adventure 2 and
Karhu, IHONI Trail.
Cameras etc. - Insta 360 x3, iPhone 13,
Books I’ve read about the AT and thru hiking-
A Walk in the Woods by Bill Bryson
Wild by Cheryl Strayed
Pushing North by Trey Free
AWOLon the Appalachian Trail by David Miller
Walking With Spring by Earl V. Shaffer
Ten Million Steps by M. I. Eberhart

During my thru-hike in 2018, I had to leave the trail twice due to injuries. My hiking of the Buckeye Trail has been interrupted more than once by family duties. Hang in there. Box Turtle🐢
Im in SNP right now. You are not required to use shelters. Dispersed camping is permitted, hanging the food bag is required. Ive seen dozens of lovely stealth sites along the trail. The main problem is having enough water.
Congratulations on passing the 500 mile mark! Prayers that you can resolve your lease issues and continue your hike! God bless and guide you! 🙏
Please keep us updated. I hope to see you back. Good luck
Been following you since day one love your videos you’re doing an awesome job and I pray that everything works out for you
Sorry to hear about your situation Bill. We’ve been enjoying your videos. I hope you are able to get it resolved soon.
I’m back in Mexico now. I’ve already found another house. I’ll be moving in a couple of weeks. I haven’t ruled out getting back on the trail but there would be a lot of things to workout if I do.
You never read; Three Hundred Zeroes: Lessons of the Heart on the Appalachian Trail, by Dennis Blanchard? Much closer to our age. Had to stop and have a six-artery heart bypass surgery whilst on the AT. After that went back and completed the AT and many more trails too. GREAT BOOK GREAT READ too. I just bet you will ENJOY to the Nth degree.
• Hope you get your hooch issues all squared away and you are back doing what you want to do and love.
I can't even imagine doing this at that age or even my age now 😮
I hope everything works out for you, so that you can continue your epic journey. Good wishes from Norway 🇳🇴
Hope it all works out and your back on trail!
Heck of a hike! Good luck! Good video!
Very sorry! Don't give up on your dream hike!
Best of luck on that issue, sad really. 🦋❤️
Sorry that’s happening. I pray you can get back on trail soon.
Best of luck. Hope you are able to return.
Oh no I am so sorry to hear this!
