You do deliver awesome reports, sir :D. Sorry for being a bit of a nitpicker, but just one remark regarding 1:13:10: the panic check wasn't needed as the spawn Unit Strength is smaller than 5. For the same reason the +1 flank attack bonus during combat resolution wasn't applicable either. It's not like it makes a huge difference in this case, but just to let you know :).
Thank you very very much Stos for this channel and all the great WHFB 6th ed battle reports! As I've said in previous comments, this is easily my favourite battle report channel and one of my overall favourite YT channels. I've literally watched almost all the fantasy battle reports twice and some even three times and I don't normally rewatch anything... You've been a major reason in me moving back to WHFB and starting work on redoing my 20 year old Tomb Kings army for either 6th ed or The Old World when that comes out if it's good. Apologies for the long comment, but please accept this as a very small token of my appreciation for your work. Hopefully I can support you more in the future. Have a merry Christmas and all the best to you and your family Stos!
Mate, you are most welcome! Reading comments like this is what keeps me going when I feel my energy waning. I am so stoked to have been a part of your hobby inspiration. I've had channels do the same for me and can barely believe that I could do it for someone else. So thank you dude! Thank you so much for reaching out. Seasons greetings and happy holidays to you and your family mate.
Awesome game! Cool to see you mix it up with the dwarf army, Stos! It is cool to see how much you've grown at guessing ranges - getting them right almost every single time now these days. Good on you. I don't know if you are reading this, Duane, but your army is just an incredible piece of art! That said, practically speaking, I feel that it would greatly benefit from having a unit of chaos hounds and/or furies to divert/protect those expensive units. Also, in this specific game, the dwarves basically nullified your sorcerer without spending a single point. Next game, I'd advise you to go 0 magic, or to go heavier magic, with at least 6 power dice, so that your casters have a chance to make a difference(or give ém book of secrets/banner of wrath). Lastly, before charging into the fray I'd advise you to do some napkin math on the odds of the outcome: if you know that you are already behind 3 points of combat resolution against superior foes, it is often a better idea to delay the fight until you can set up a flank/rear charge from support units. 6e is complicated, with many special rules to remember, but you can always ask the opponent about the basics of their units before you make a choice. You've already shown great improvement in just 2 games. I'm sure your amazing-looking army will achieve amazing victories soon.
As someone who collected but never played Dwarfs way back in 2000, your channel scratches a major itch. I've, once again, been collecting 6th ed Dwarfs for a few months now and played a couple of games. I stumbled across your channel and I'm glad I did. Great to see the batreps and such a help when understanding some of the rules and dynamics. Keep up the good work!
Wow, you are really cranking these out now. I have a very bad flu and fever currently, but this was the perfect surprise to make me feel better in between when I'm not sleeping. Thank you very much Stos and merry Christmas!
Dammit, that Chaos army is nothing short of spectacular! Absolutely amazing work on the conversion and painting, so well done. Loving it for all the wrong reasons!
Great battle! So fun! Thanks for sharing! In a scenario like that, where the key its the position, the spell Tetilating Desilutions its a powerfull tool to move units far away from objective (even against dwarfs) Awesome armies and awesome video battle report!
That was an awesome battle report! Was so up and down, good and bad luck on both sides. Great to see Duanes slaanesh back again! Merry Christmas stos, hope you get lots of new models for more great battle reps
Always jolly entertaining videos, a real pleasure when a new one arrives. Thanks for your efforts this year and to all your splendid opponents. Merry Christmas!
Congrats mates, far better game than the previous one. More balanced lists, and Duane has learn a lot in a short period of time!! Rules things: I think flank bonus is only for unit potency 5 or better, so the spawn can´t get it. And tips for Duane, if he allows me: - Your list has improved a lot, but still needs some tweeks. Consider take at least one unit of hounds (5 for 30 points) and a unit of furies (5 for 75 points), to deal with warmachines and shooting, and/or to negate enemy marching moves - Marauders works better in 4 or 5 files formation. They are quite weaks, and the rank bonus is preferible to one or two extra attacks - The wizzard can leave unit and take cover in a forest or similar, mainly if you don't need line of sight to cast your spells. He will be safer there - Lord on chariot is amazing, but not a good choice against artillery. If you end up playing in this situation, try to put him out of line of sight of artillery as long as possible - The best (and probably, the only good thing) of not being inmune to psychology is be able to flee. Flee in the right moment is key to win a warhammer game. If you think you are going to lose a combat, don't stand there...just flee. Enemy will fail the charge, move very little and end up in a bad position, and you will have a chance to rally in your turn, and to charge enemy...maybe in the flank - Take care with challenges, they are quite cheating. Use them to blocking powerful enemy characters, and try not to end yourself in this situation. If you don't know what should you do, just let your opponent throw it, and then, think about taking it with your champion or your lord - Dwarf regiments are very hard to defeat face to face, but they are quite slow. Try to charge them in the flank to negate their rank bonus - the slaneesh spells are among the bests of the game. Use it to force enemy to move in a very bad direction, to frozen his units in the worst moment, etc I think it's all. I am waiting to see you again in the channel!
Thank you for the tips, it is appreciated! I have hounds and furies on the list of things I want to build soon, as well as expanding units for more ranks!
I'm not much of a rules lawyer, but I noticed when the Blind Prince's chariot was destroyed from under him, he should have taken a single S5 automatic hit (normal saves allowed etc), that's on page 127 of the rulebook. I don’t think you did that, wouldn’t have mattered for the game but something to maybe remember next time. :) I think that was the first time you've faced a character riding a chariot and the first time Duane has used one, so it's no wonder you forgot...
Awesome, Duane's back, and much improved! Quick rule question: when you destroyed the chariot, was it fully covered by the template? Didn't look like it would. Then, shouldn't there have been a 4+ test? Or is there a special chariot rule I'm missing?
@@rogueelementgaming I had a look at my book too and it's not clear at all. Looks like a session on chariot being hit by template weapons is missing. Your assumption, automatically hit if under the dot, is actually quite good, if it needs to be fully covered like I assumed, then the bigger it is, the harder it is to shoot, and that makes no sense
Great game fellas, very entertaining. Just so you know you need unit strength 5 to both cause a panic check by charging a already engaged unit and to get the flank bonus.
Spawn charging to the flank would not cause a panic test. You need unit strenght 5 to do it. You also need unit strenght 5 to gain +1 combat result for flank charge.
Just a check, but when the gyrocopter shot at the deamonettes the first round, at 24:03 min in, you have strenght 4 vs toughness 3, so wounding on 3s right? In that case, you almost wounded everything with your roll.
@@rogueelementgaming thanks for clarifying! And such a delight to see your videos, lots of fun, crazy dice rolls and love the format with the introduction, the turns and the post match talk. And beautifully painted models and terrain! Well done!
Hey guys, again some lovely content. Please take the next comments with a grain of salt, but i think it was very ill advised to attack the iron breakers head on with the chaos warriors. First Chaos Warriors are sadly the weakest unit (point and performance wise) and the combat was mathematically stacked against Duane (He was about to lose it 95% of the time). The Iron Breakers have a static combat result of 5, with 3 ranks, banner and outnumber. And on top it contains the lord with a great weapon + the BSB with strength 5. I personally would have avoided the unit as much as possible or would have MSUd the hell out of it by setting up a devastating multiple charge. I know Duane is limited by his freaking, lovely, incredible (... and so on) models, but diverters are a must. A second thing: I don't know if you rolled the battle before or after choosing the armies, but the iron breaker death star plus a full ranked unbreakable unit of slayers felt a bit cheesy in this set up. Those are my to concerns with this battle. But again, i really love your content, the style, your comments, your sportsmanship (ok, i would have allowed Duane to shift the slaanesh spell to the iron breakers - but maybe i'm a bit to reluctant to apply strict rules in friendly narrative games ^^). I wish you some happy, cozy christmas holidays and look forward to the next content. So sad that you almost live on the other side of the world. Would've joined you the very minute you said you wanted to have some opponents for narrative 6th edition whfb battles 🤗. Best regards FA
Stos always has used the original 6th army book for his Dwarfs. There's even a battle report on the channel against another Dwarf player who's using the 6.5 army book. I think the original is the better and more balanced book so good that Stos is using that.
Wonderful, I have some painting to do today so great background! :D And Da Stunties huh? How´s Da Boyz, fed them well enough? ;) Nice to see the weedy gitz, da stunties face off against Da Spiky Boyz too!

Jeez, compliments on the Chaos army, love the 80s vibe too, when chaos was actually chaotic instead of just generic spiky dudes.
Here's another fiver as a thanks for the superb WHFB 6th ed content, Merry Christmas Stos!

Thanks for the rep, Stos!
Duane- congrats on the draw, considering how sideways things went early on.
Aaaaaw yeah! Pure joy to see that beautiful horde of chaos again!
I know right! God they are stunning!
Another smashing battle report! That Slaanesh army is beautiful.
Great to see the Slaanesh worshippers back!
Very enjoyable to watch your reports. Good work. I've watched a few now and it has the feel of the old WFB

Why was the Dwarf stone thrower crew removed at time point 40:51 after the destruction of the war machine? I believe the crew should still be there.
Spawn charging to the flank would not cause a panic test. You need unit strenght 5 to do it. You also need unit strenght 5 to gain +1 combat result for flank charge.

Enjoyable report as always! One thing I caught: The Exalted Demon causes terror (fear), wouldn't that have caused the greataxe warriors to auto-break?
No, the dwarfs outnumber all the fear troops in the deamon side.
omg channel is on fire
This chaos army!
Thanks for another grear BR 👍 Who produces the battle mat please?

I get my mats from www.tablewar.com.au/
Which minis did you use for the Trollslayers? They look a bit different than the old metal ones to me. 😅
They are the Dwarf "Seekers" kit from Avatars of War. Great proxy slayer kit!

I got one unit of 30 old Metall slayers, but was exploring to build a full slayer army from the storm of Chaos

Great reports, Im a fan of your content. I believe flying characters cannot join the units, secondly marauders are only tough 3 not 4.
