    I used to love biking from lakeshore in etobikoke to downtown I did it every weekend when I was off from work... I would lock my bike up and wander around for hours checking out different shops getting food and drinks at random bars was the time of my life...

    I love your videos. They are so calming. I have battled agoraphobia anxiety for most of my adult life and have come a long way. While I function well in my area, leaving my comfort zone is still a bit scary. Your videos are encouraging and give me the courage to go a bit further. I see how fast you get around on the scooter I may get one. Thanks, Johnny for your wonderful videos 🥰😊

    Used to walk to cherry beach almost every day at lunch from downtown pre pandemic. I barely recognize cherry street, so many changes since I last walked it. With all that construction chaos not sure I'd want to walk it now. Thanks for doing this video, been over 3 years since I was there last, and it almost felt like being there.

    This was extremely informative, thank you Johnny. Hadn't been down Cherry Street since 2020, so these "used to be a ___" are very interesting to see. Wonder if the vision is worth all the disruption.

    Last I heard there is a plan to revamp things at either Union Station Streetcar Station or the Ferry Docks Station and build an Eastern Streetcar Line that will go along Queen's Quay East where it will terminate at The Distillery Loop.....for now until they build up the Communities along Cherry Street.

  • @MichaelStrathmore
    @MichaelStrathmore 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    (23:20) The Waterfront East LRT extension will see the Union Station loop expanded substantially with streetcars connecting it and the Port Lands.

      I thought a train went from Union Station to Scarborough. Never took it. Got to Scarborough by other parts of the system. Used to go to a theater that ran a couple of the biggest Bollywood hits.

      @@JimMork The Go Trains travel from Union Station into Scarborough and beyond.

    • @JimMork
      @JimMork 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@MichaelStrathmore I never actually got on one. My trips to Scarborough were the subway to, I think, Kennedy station. Then transfer to a bus that dopped near a Scarborough shopping center. I found the whole TTC fascinating, never lived or visited any place similar. Though one time I did take the Sky Train to downtown Vancouver.

    Has anyone taken the "water taxi" boats to the island instead of the main ferry?
    Took the main ferry to the islands a few weeks ago and it pretty much ruined the day. Waited for too long and lost daylight and had to rush when on island. The way back was even worse as they seemingly shoved 1000 people on that thing and took 40 mins longer to leave while some big spiders were about to drop on us from the ferry ceiling..

    Thanks 4d upload. A drone shot above the area should b a good addition. what about historical background on businesses. Is d area being upgraded for tourism purposes? When did the transformation construction started? How much is the cost of this project and when will it end (start and end)? Hopefully there will be no future high rise buildings construction. Business Kayaking activities should be promoted. I hope to visit the area someday soon.

      Those apartment/condo buildings are just crazy. He went by one of those, and I pondered who would rent or own those 56th floor condos or apartments. What percent are actually occupied? Are there hedge funds that just buy them up by the dozens?

    "Canada’s housing market has surged since the 2009 recession as near-record low mortgage rates fueled prices and home purchases, unlike the U.S., where sales and values have fallen since 2007. Bank of Canada Governor Mark Carney has said record consumer debts are the greatest domestic threat to the country’s financial institutions, even as the central bank has held the benchmark rate at 1% since September 2010."

    This is very interesting. But as I've watched the walks and rides over the years, with building construction everywhere, and now the megaproject, my lifelong interest in finance makes me wonder. Now I am well aware that Toronto is ground zero for investment in Canada. The megaproject may be massive, but taken along with all these other developments it is merely the biggest. Maybe the high cost of Toronto comes from too much liquidity. Canada didn't collapse following 2008. But some of this looks like building on meth. A path to some vision of a supercity. Wonder if I'm totally alone in speculation.

      True. Same with the province of Ontario in general. People have said to me that western Canada, United States, and Europe seem to be friendlier than Ontario, besides Toronto. I don't know why that is?

    Why do you insist on jaywalking? You have young impressionable viewers. WAIT UNTIL IT IS YOUR TURN TO CROSS AH

    • @misterspike
      @misterspike 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Road are built for people to use. Cross at the lights if you want, but there is no reason for anyone else to do so, especially when cycling. Crossly safely without forcing vehicles to brake is another matter.
