Watching this I realize my large snake plant is in too small a pot SO come Spring I'm on it! Thanks Joy!
Sure thing Molly! Nell
My snake plants are getting some height too! Yours is just gorgeous Nell!
Thank you! It's enjoying the new pot, that's for sure. Nell
That's a beautiful Sansevieria!🌿
How timely, Nell! This morning I found one Aubrytiana Jade Snake Plant heaved out of a full pot. You’ve inspired me! Time to go up-size on my terracotta pots.
Hi Terri - Great. They don't need repotting often, but when they heave out of or crack pots, it's time! Nell
Thank you for sharing beautiful and amazing plants lovely collection
Beautiful plants.
I watched this hoping that it would show how to cut the rhizomes and also how to repot the very large plants without them toppling over but the video just went straight to the finished version which is a shame
Love a good repot video!
Indeed! I'm filming 2 more this afternoon. Nell
Dang! thats a nice snake plant! Mine is just a wee bit smaller. Thinking of propergating by splitting one leaf aswell dividing the whole plant into smaller ones. Which way do you usually do it? :D
You posted a video months if not years ago that had to do this pruning bromeliad flowers and I had quite a few questions but you answered barely any questions others asked so I wasn't really able to get the help I need. If possible could I ask some questions to help decide whether I should even keep trying with my bromeliad plant. I'm not sure if you're going to answer or not but i really hope you do
@joyusgarden: Thank you for this video. It helped me realize I’m overdue on my repotting. As such, my snake plant is huge and tall. Any advice on how to get it out of the old pot?
Hit the pot all the way around so that earth /roots loosen from the pot and then tip of over and try to "yank" it out, carefully!
Do you have a saucer underneath the pot to catch overflow while watering?
I repotted my 5ft snake plant yesterday because of rot. I am only 5’1 myself. It took hours. Im just hoping I did not pack it in too tight.
Did anyone notice the snake plant happily poked a new sprout out the side of the pot? Thats a strong snake plant lol
Are there individual plants in that root ball? I have a plant that I gave my Grandmother, from a hospital gift shop. She passed and I was given the plant back. I reluctantly took the plant home (nervous I’d kill it). That was over 15 years ago, and it’s now probably 4.5-5 feet tall.
I always hoped to gift family members plants, from that original (if that makes sense). I tried propagating, but failed. I really need to repot it, and wondered if it was one individual plant, or several? Could I separate the root ball into multiple plants? If not I’ll try and propagate again. I just think it would make cool gifts for family members.
Sorry for the length of my question.
Mine are due for a repotting too!
Pl let me know how to take care of string of beads on winter
Unfortunately this taught me nothing other than you repotted your plant … I was hoping for some visuals on proper procedures… thanks for trying
