Whoever participated in designing our newest Codex understands what Ork players like on a fundamental level. I've not been that hyped for list building for a long time. Thank you!
Dreadwaagh and Greentide is what made me choose the Orks in 8th.
what list did you build?
Only issue I have is that they added a weird ‘role the dice for a name’ at the back of the codex. My Meklord already has a name for the past 20 years. No way it’s going to change.
I would disagree. Not saying it's a horrible codex but most of the detachments are extremely hyper focused which leads to very little in list variety. Wouldn't be so bad if they had a general detachment like the other codexes. The war horde seems like it wants to do that but is only melee focused which leaves out half the codex. It seems like this codex is 1 or 2 detachments short.
Except there's no good detachment for death skulls, bad moons or free booterz.

Love me some orks. They give me a sense of freedom in the setting that nakes me feel like a kid again. Also I love the high amounts of customizations on their models..
The way you describe them, people might not realize they are the good guys.

Love the fact that they'd love to fight orks, but it's more fun to fight everybody 😂
As the Gorkamorka sourcebook (1997) made clear, Ork history is fascinating. True, it focuses almost exclusively on "who hit who and how hard", but it is this very simplicity which highlights the stark beauty of the Orkoid experience.

The narrator shouts Waaagh so shy it ashamed. WAAAGH must come from heart, its a state of joyfull yet violent mind. Please, we deserve a better WAAAGH.
Think of it more as a Imperium Guard Instructor explaining to new cadets the nature of the Orks. Hence the lack of emotion behind the WAAAGH.

Orks are very therapeutic to collect, assemble and paint. I highly recommend them.

DA BOYZ, still miss the old looted vehicle rules where you could build your own ork vehicles, back when GW encouraged kitbashing and 3rd party bits in the name of fun, I think those rules were around 6th/7th edition iirc.
Orks need some new minis... Any chance to refresh old models from 4th and 5th Edition?

I can see how Khorne could be attracted to the Orks for being completely war cray but how does Slaanesh not attractrd for the joy and desire they constantly show for making war?

In Brutal Kunning a daemon engine thinks about how the chaos gods all hate the orks because they cannot be corrupted or tempted. Khorne has no power over them, because they do not kill and fight out of rage but for the joy of it. Nurgle cannot claim them as they do not fear death, and cannot be touched by entropy, stagnation, or disease. Tzeentch cannot seduce them, because they have no ambitions beyond fighting, have a rigid hierarchy that they are happy with, and if they should want to rise in status they simply have to krump the guy currently in charge. Slaanesh also cannot tempt them, since the violence and speed they revel in is all done in service of Gork and Mork. Gork and Mork give the orks all they need. Orks are not oppressed citizens of the empire looking for hope or a space marine being consumed by the rage and bloodshed, they are perfect beings living perfect lives and want for nothing
