Hey, thanks Paul My Dad has passed, but he loved Packard cars. He always told me they where away ahead of there time. Growing up on the farm i have always loved trucks, my Grandpa had one of those vans with the motor between the seats. As an adult I wish I had that old van...I joke that it had heated seats, because that's where they always told me to sit. Thanks so much for taking the time to share all this content. I am almost 60 and I love those old cars as well. Stay safe....cheers 🍻
I love the round double tail lights of the 68 overthe long flat ones of the 69-70 chargers. I'd say 1968 was a very fine year for Mopar. 1964 was another. But over all 68 had to be the best. Every Mopar performance model was over the top. They were complete animals. MONSTERS. The S/S LO29, BO29, street hemi's of SuperBee, Road Runner, GTX, Coronet 500s and Chargers were all hell to deal with on the dragstrips of America. 1969 Fords Year and 70-72 were GM's finest with the LS6 , LT1, stage 1 455, SD455, one of course the Ram Air 400s. Pontiac give us the last muscle of early 70s the firebird, formula or T/A WITH SD 455 in 1974.
Such a shame Barrett isn't on Discovery channel anymore. We used to get it on cable out here in Australia and I always loved listening to everything Steve had to say.
LOVE THOSE MOPARS..AND WHAT THERE BRING NOW 😍 WOW BIG BUCKS.LOVE THEM ALL..BUT LOVE THE LAST ONE SAYS 340 ON THE QUARTER PANNEL..WHAT A SLEEPER..THEN HE BLOWSSSSS THE DOORS OFF HIS COMPETITION..LOL..JOHN FROM WINNIPEG CANADA 🇨🇦 😀
I love the plumb crazy purple and I'm not a big purple color person but that color with black or my favorite Interior color on a mopar is white but black or white goes great with plumb crazy purple
I miss my boat...a 1968 Dodge Polara, aqua, with chrome everywhere, 383, white diamond tuck seats, with matching shag carpenting, moon rims with BF Goodrich Tires. Good memories in the 70s.
When I was 17 I had a 67 Coronet RT It had a 440 magnum under the hood This was in 1974 Had I known these cars would be worth so much it would still be in my garage
Many people think it has a 440 in it because it has 440 in the name but the 440 is the trim level they had the Coronet 440 and the Coronet 500 and just the basic Coronet all of them are different trim levels the 500 being the highest.
i love the look of the last blue duster but i do not like the fact it did not reflect what was in it now. 6.1 hemi or convert it to c.i.'s but do not call it a 340. Make the decal in the same style as the O.E. version if possible would look better.
My 72 Duster 340 smoked every thing ford's Chevys Pontiacs Oldsmobiles and all other 340's that I raced when I was in school,I had The number one parking space and the fastest car.definately not a junk
Wow. Finally the prices have come down to sanity on classic Muscle cars. At least it looks that way in this video compared to a LOT of other videos from the years past.
Has anyone ever seen a 1974 or 1975 Dodge Dart Hang 10 sold on Barrett Jackson before? They are an extremely very rare car in which my Father owns a 1975 Dodge Dart Hang 10 with a crank sun roof, fold down rear seat,318c.i. engine & a very neat pinstripe on the whole side of the car with a wave & surfer near the end of the pinstripe at the end of the rear quarter panel + a cool stripe outline of a surfboard on the hood. They were only made from 1974/75 & came with a slant 6~318 or 360.
Back in the 1970s my older brother collected toy cars, Hot Wheels mostly and he had a Plum Crazy '71 Challenger with the Bee stripes. I remember that one because The Mod Squad had gold convertible '71 Challenger and as a kid I wanted a '71 Challenger too, any colour, I tried to trade comic books and hockey cards for Ron's die cast toy car but he wasn't into those.
That 68 Hemi Super Bee. Has to be the steal of the auction. #'s matching hemi bee. Auto sure. But seems like price is undervalued for a beautiful example. Makes me feel like my dreams of owning one. Went from a dream to reality. It's good to see that prices are coming down compared to a few yrs back. That's a 125k car 5 yrs ago.
Mostly Old Paint And Rust. Not a fan of Mopar but them are some beautiful cars. Good to see cars this old being kept and restored and not destroyed with really dumb customizations.
Wild world when an A body takes the price crown over the B and E bodies. Can't complain as I have a 67 Dart I put a 5.7 Hemi in myself, but not nearly that kind of restoration, lol.
That number 1 car did nothing for me. I really like a Plymouth duster, but I would have liked it more if it had a 340 under the hood. I know they can make good power, but the late model hemi does nothing for me.
I totally agree with you, Mopar brother.👍 Dusters are excellent mainly for their fantastic handling with the high performance 340 LA. A true musle car killer!
I just don’t understand it either, I would much rather have an all original numbers matching but these heavily modified cars are bringing a lot of money nowadays. I have a 1970 Dodge Challenger RT 440 magnum four-speed with the pistol grip all original I would not think of trading it for one of these modified cars. Or destroying it by putting in a new hemi crate motor and transmission.
@@billybob9961 I think in some cases, they're rescuing a slant 6 that was a beater, or a V8 model where the original drivetrain is long gone and finding another won't really help the car hold value. As a car guy, I have a love and appreciation for all variety of builds. Mopars are worth doing whatever.
1968 Coronet 440 was NOT available with buckets, only a bench seat. In order to get buckets, you had to buy a Coronet 500 or higher model. Also the Coronet 440 did not have hood scoops available as an option; only available on on Superbee or R/T. "custom" is not a real nameplate, it was custom because someone added those items years later. I owned a Coronet 440 and know the option list very well. Thanks for the video.
Kaiser Frasier cars does anyone know who might own one of these cars? . My Dad had a Dealership here in Cambridge, Ohio until the company went out of business.
We're it not for all the late model GTs and the insane truck market, you think a Fairlane, Torino or Galaxy build would top those Mopars from the same era? I think not. 🚫 You've compared apples to oranges.
Anything Hemi is going crazy now. I was at the Las Vegas BJ sitting in front of the guy who jumped the bid from $1 mill to $1.5 mill to shut the other bidders up. Steve was wrong on the hood scoop on the Duster. It was available on the 1972 Demon's and 1973-74 Dart Sports. But he's still tops on everything else!
Customização e restaurar escolhem as pessoas a quem será entregue a sua essência, para que o carro saia exatamente como foi projetado , desde o design e projeto da época de cada, isso é uma dádiva da indústria automobilística.
I'm not a big fan of recreation cars but I understand a 1970 Coronet 440 with a 318 will not get the money that a 70 Hemi Superbee but these recreations are the reasons you can''t find 2 door Coronets with a 318 anymore because they have all been turned into 440 or Hemi cars. That's like the 1968 Charger that had the factory leaning tower of power today they are more rare then a 1968 Charger with a 440 or Hemi. I'm sure someone will get that car and change it to a 440 or Hemi car but I think it's cooler with the 225 slant six
My buddy has a 71 demon same colour as yours was . Its also a 4 speed and he took out the old 340 and is currently dropping in a 408 stroker with ported trick flow heads , harland sharp roller rocks and a lunati voodoo roller cam .
Oh I really miss my old mopars 69super bee 383 4-speed Hurst matching cornet 440 73challenger and charger if I win the lottery 🤠 or if anyone out there wants to be 🎅
Man if a 71 Duster with a 6.4 hemi is a 6 figure car I cant imagine a 8.4 Viper v10 Duster J5 going for less than 200k. I have a 70, 340, 4 speed, JF limelite, half vinyl top, go wing, rally dash, console Duster. It's not #matching so I'm think a 8.0 Viper for it.
I had many cars, grew up in 60's, 71 cuda, red w/white stripes, piece of crap, it's so funny, cars you couldn't give away now sell for thousands, I do like the styling of cars back then but most were junk.

Barret-Jackson has gone spoke woke. Those types of wheels look absolutely terrible on a Muscle Car. So the first one is a non-original custom with crappy wheels, and the second one is a recreation? #3? good to go. #4 as soon as you said "recreation" I skipped over it. #5 Nice. #6 skipped over it those tall wheels suck! MOPAR Top 10? Not a chance...
I hate those oversize pimped out wheels on vintage cars.
Yeah
Agreed 100%
Same here not a fan of them.
I'll second that.
Sorry I really thought that you were talking about the rich old guys ...DRIVING THE PRICES THOUGH THE ROOF..LOL
I hate when they do that 2
I could not ever have a chance to bid on a classic car, but it's on my bucket list to go and look, and that would be awesome for me.
Same here Keith.
Agreed 💯
I know it's gotta be an amazing experience.
I'm almost at the point where I could bid on a parts car 🤣
@@smellsuperb1 👍
I surprise #8 didn't go for more being an all original numbers matching hemi Super Bee. I think it was a steal at 67k.
That sounds only a little low for a Coronet.

I agree Kevin, and hang onto you Duster, you will be glad you did!!!!
Love the Mopars I have always wanted 69 road runner I was 9 years old now I am 61

9:30 Incorrect.....'Hard Top' was an available '70 Super Bee option......I know this because I own one.
Essas máquinas além de lendárias são muito más no asfalto e os caras põe muito amor nessas criações espetaculares.
It’s so bizarre that the duster garnered the most money. That 68 Dodge Charger RT is the holy grail imo.
Iconic hardware. Mopar fan forever?
