Apple Pie and the 99-Year-Old Speeder

- In a special episode of “Cooking With the Caprio's,” Judge Frank Caprio and his son David reunite with Victor Colella the “The 96-Year-Old Speeder” to get an update on his life, his son’s health and to cook one of his famous Apple Pies.
Victor’s Apple Pie Ingredients:
7 or 8 Granny Smith apples Peeled and Quartered
3/4 cup sugar
1/4 tsp nutmeg
1 tablespoon cinnamon
1/8 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 tablespoon butter
1 ½ tablespoon of Grand Marnier
Pillsbury Ready-to-Bake Pie Crusts (or whatever brand you desire)
¼ cup milk
Recipe:
- Peel, core and slice the apples.
- In a large mixing bowl, gently toss the apple slices, granulated sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt, lemon juice, ¾ tablespoon butter, and Gran Marnier until well combined and set aside.
-Place the oven rack in the center position and preheat your oven to 425°F.
- Put the pie crust into the bottom of a 9-inch deep dish pie plate
- Spoon the apple pie filling into the crust, discarding any liquid at the bottom of the mixing bowl. Spread the apple slices evenly.
- Place the second pie crust over the apple pie filling. Pinch tightly on the edges.
- Gently coat the top pie crust with the remaining butter. Then add a thin wash of milk. Be sure not to coat the edges. Cut 4 even slits into the pie crust, to allow the pie to breathe.
- Bake the pie at 425°F for 40 minutes. Remove and allow to sit for 10 minutes. - บันเทิง
Victor looks sharp as ever, being 99 years old. No hearing aids, no glasses, not even using a walking stick. Good for him!

Mr. Victor is a very resilient and humble person. Aged 100 and walk straight like an army general. Still look after his family, his eyes are still excellent and he didn't need an eye glass aid, his memory, hearing all excellent and speak sharp. He don't just get a grandma cooking recipe but also a recipe for a long and happy life . "Don't lie to any body, respect your parents and have three meals a day!" Happy new year to you young man! It really puts some perspective on your own life for sure. 99 and sharper than most 25 year Olds, and a stellar example of what a father's love for his son looks like.

My Mother turned 96 last sunday in Germany (same age as The Queen) and has still to cook for me. I forgot to left home till today. She survived 1943 the Hamburger Feuersturm (firestorm) Raid buried in shelter, but today is still angry that I leave wet towels on bath floor 😂.- Great to see the "old speeder" again with 99! I remember the case prae Covid, when he was 96. God bless him and his son! And may God bless the great judge!

I have to say that this has to be my favorite episode so far and I've been watching for quite some time. The love and respect for each other is just out of this world. Victor looks great for being 99 years young and God bless that his son is now cancer free.
