    God what a mission that turned out to be. Big call to walk out in the dark so glad that all went to plan

      Thanks mate! Yeah it was a huge call. The winds were certainly intense though. Glad I was able to get down safely.

    Great Video Aaron, Drone work was nice. The Valley of the winds looks incredible.
    Looking forward to your next video.

    Man, I've really gotta get myself back to Girraween and do some proper exploration down there, not just a hurried stroll up the Pyramid. It's awesome how you can just wander around off track quite easily in that area.
    I appreciate the effort you went to to film some of those shots of the wild weather - it made for some nice footage.
    Also, I've never heard of Mt Pa Lerouse before ;)

      Haha, I know right. I picked Pa Lerouse up in editing, but didn't bother to change it. There is so much to explore in Girraween. You can certainly spend so many nights out there. All the creeks have dried up though due to the drought.

    Stunning scenery mate, definitely need to explore that area some day

      Thanks mate! Yep for sure. I need to get down and explore some of those NSW parks. Budawangs is high on my list at this stage.

      Cheers Alex. I certainly want to cook more, especially on the single overnight trips. I really am getting over the dehydrated / packaged meals.

    Amazing adventure, the beauty of nature. The storm gave it an element of excitement & distress, but you handled that in such a calm manner. Very enjoyable

    I've been caught out up there before. Conditions can change quickly in the granite belt

      @AaronGrayOutdoors  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      They surely can. I've had some windy nights at out Girraween before, but nothing as extreme. Thanks!

      Yeah it is fairly similar to Mt Amos, although the climbing is more technical. Yep, I don’t use a lot of S2S gear, just the summer quilt and some cooking accessories. My standard quilt is from Tier Gear but is too hot this time of year. We plan to start Mt Anne on Jan 10. Hit me up on Instagram if you want.

    How hot was it? I've been wanting to get back out but it's just so hot!

    • @AaronGrayOutdoors
      @AaronGrayOutdoors  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It has been disgusting lately. This weekend was only 20c out there so the temperature was enjoyable. Girraween is usually a few degrees cooler than Brisbane which helps. I was actually out there the weekend before (planning to do this hike), but bailed as it was too hot.

      Haha it might have been the wisest idea, but the original forecast was fine (light winds). Thanks!
