fantastic!
Absolute master of this instrument! Just amazing
EXCELLENT and so entertaining: he produces styles in classical, Russian folk, bluegrass, ragtime, and Gd knows what else. My little American fingers will never play like this, so it's a treat hearing him play. Balshoy'e spassibo!
this guy is extremely entertaining!
This is sound of our earth, our souls, our blood! Slava!
No it's the sound of balalaika strings amplified with modern electronics.
He is the God of Music. He is music. Absolute brilliant!
This knocked my socks off. Bravo!

großartig!
Insane skills and a great entertainer!
I love the sound of the balalaika, somehow is similar to the charango the small Andean "guitar".
unblievable! too good for words to describe!
This guy is a God....:) unbelievable talent...!!!
All I can say is BRAVO. What a shredder!
I like balalaikas, very original and typical instruments so that,in spite of their old-time,
they take place in many modern musical ensembles!
Exquisitely beautiful!
The opening is very beautiful.
The balalaika is the tool as a soul, can be only for Russian soul, i don;t. WHEN these sounds inside at the Russian person are heard starts to move smothering! It should be felt, it наверое in blood. It and enthusiastic pleasure
And the refined attitude - that I feel it. The balalaika - awakes soul!!!!
absolute control over an instrument, biggest wish of any musician. and this guy has it!
outstanding performance:D. this balalaika has great sound!!
Amazing!
truly amazing
Bravo!!!
A great virtuose. Very nice!
He's № 1. Absolut Master.
Il est incroyable ce type là !
Les bras m'en tombent....
Bravissimo!
krasivo :3
2:00 Only shortwave radio listeners from the 70's might get this joke. These notes were the interval tune played over Radio Moscow. I too might have glanced at my watch to see what hour it was when hearing this while tuning the shortwave band. Most shows began at the beginning of the hour.
You do have my highest respect for your talent and hard training to perform this way !
This is perfect art. Bravissimo !
Never thought I'd see something like this played on a balalaika.. ;-) This is musical creativity, humour and virtuousity on a very high level, amazing!
magnifico...
Muzhiky RESPECT!
Impressive!
Waow, woaw and woaw again, and all that on just three strings? I have 6 (guitar) and dont pull out half of all that. Quit spectacular, and beautifull.
This guy starts going crazy at around 3 minutes folks. It is worth the wait. At 5:30 is just insanity.
ohhh wow
omg!!!! It's cool
Wow
he rules!
in one word....: A MA ZING !
Holy Jesus that was good
este man es un genio carajo
amazing that thats coming out of just 3 strings.
The banjo's fifth string is also a unison string...
Fantastic, I am strongly impressed with your technic, I could not see, are you playing with your own nails or you play with your finger tips, sorry to ask.
This Russky would be outright dangerous if he had a 6 string guitar! My new hero.
sick
That's because they form unison notes....uh to have them at different string sizes would require different string lengths OR the string tension would be unevenly distributed.
wow
Shedevr , Malodets !
Can anyone tell me if this guy has any audio recordings? Im amazed by this guy, long time have not seen such a genius! PLS wrtite me ma private message if u know something of an audio recording!
he only has 3 strings and its sounds like an harp !
Respect
Do you know if he has a website and he makes concerts in europe?
This is my favourite performance: so many kind of music in 8 incredible minutes!
Amazing!
I wish he was invited one day to BDAA (Balalaika and domra assosiation of America as a guest artist

If he battled Jake Shimabukuro my life would be complete. I would pay well over 100 dollars to see that.
p.s. - is it me or can you only see this guy communicating with that instrument? xP
You rule. please come to australia and teach me to play that well.
@Nalimoff ahah, you actually answered instead of making fun of xxjimjammerxx, nice, I thought i was the one trying to help people
@AlexStelsi
I think it is called Камаринская (Kamarinskaya)
i would! but i live in perth
Mr Aleksei Arkhipovsky, You should have a concert in a cave. Acoustics... Just think about it.
Man I wanna build that guy a balalaika with a pickup and hook that it up to a mesa boogie!!!!
Looks like Danny Kaye playing his heart out...
Somebody is on Jacobs elixir :P
Amazing .
This type of instrument is perfect for people with shaky or spastic hands :>
This piece is made in 1928 by the way
he's like a God, or something...
@Mennoman20 He has more than that, some sort of digital effects, delay, echo, reverb, etc. Sorry, it is not the man and instrument alone.
@OldUncleMe "Trouble With A Fly" ? :)
@shoutingback09 And now the farther into the video I get the more I see him having fun with it. And about the strings being the same size I don't know but as a guitar luthier to me it would make sense if they were the same size to get the same sound from each string. It reminds me of a 12 string guitar.
February, 4, 2010. Moscow International House of Music. 90 minutes. Tickets: 400-900 roubles (10-22 euros)
Hi guys! Can someone tell me the name of the song on 2.29 please? It`s a folk song but I want to know how it is called.Thanx!
he's actually not that bad
@Nalimoff so this thing has only 3 strings ? o.O
Also I'd like to point out that he almost seems bored with making amazingly beautiful and intricate music with his hands. One thing I can't understand is why the top two strings of the balalaika are the same size. I get that they are both tuned the same, but it seems like you could use two different width strings to get a wider array of sounds.
@thnkUcumAgn there is one in russian though :D
Absolutnie genialne!
