I have one of these, a film slitter for 35mm film, a bunch of cassettes, and the miniature daylight developer tank. I should make some videos some time. Of course, the light meter is broken. Microfilm was a great way to store and retrieve any printed information back in the day before capable multimedia desktop computers. You could get 9 Minox exposures for each 1 exposure of 35mm film when you trimmed it down. So a roll of 36 exposures could allow you to store 324 A4 documents. As you can see this was a very economical and convenient way to store information before desktop computers came about. Actually it's still useful to store your most secret documents because it's very unlikely your microfilm viewer has computer viruses etc ;-)
Thank you for an excellent and very helpful video!
These cameras are from Riga, Latvia, by Latvian engineer. They were later also produced in Germany.

I have one, but I can’t take the black cover off. Can you please tell me how to do that?
I have the same issue! Can't remove the leather cover for some reason. Did you ever learn how to do it??
@@erikquest5856 yes I did!!! That bottom piece is like a screw and you push it in and turn it!
