  • Just when you thought the Brutal Collision couldn't roll any better, DV8 unleashes its younger brother: the Violent Collision. Throw them into your bag, and together, these 2 balls allow you to strike from just about any part of the lane. Joe's back, and he's here with both to crush some racks.

This is my first DV8 ball and it has to be one of the top 3 balls I’ve ever owned. It was rocking on the back end and I agree with you; the ball was pushing down lane on my bad shots and was very forgiving. I rolled between 220-259 over four games. I was impressed.

Nice shooting! Glad to hear you're loving the ball. It's a total beast, and, as you said, very forgiving at the same time. Which is a rare combination.

Are these HK22 balls going to become oil soaked faster and need replacement sooner? Why does a lower RG ball keep pins lower?

I haven't noticed it yet on any of the balls i have reviewed yet. They are holding just fine.

One thought about "keeping the pins lower" when it comes to lower RG values is that smoother(earlier) ball roll, IE lower RG, has the ball continuing into the pins without a quick backend snap... which allows the pins to not fly up upon impact, and instead have the energy transferred more linearly.

@@wsbproshop Wouldn't continuation be more of a symmetric vs asymmetric thing? Maybe something for Creating the Difference to put some science to? LOL! BTW, love your logo and TH-cam intro music!

Looking for a new ball. I have a really low rev rate. Right now I have the roto grip RST-X3. I like it but can't get it to break as much as I would like. I have owned a DV8 Endless Nightmare before. Would this be a good ball for my low rev rate, medium speed type throw?

I think it could definitely be a good one. It retains a lot of energy, which could be useful to you

Looking like a beautiful sleeper ball similar to the Captiv8 which didnt get a lot of notice. How would you compare the reactions of the Violent against the Radical Katana Assault?

Yeah, the Captiv8 definitely went under the radar. I'm not sure Joe ever had a chance to throw the Katana Assault, but from what I've seen, the Katana Assault was a tad smoother in the back part of the lane, but a similar overall picture for an arsenal.

I'm a backup bowler my ball speed at the plns is 12 to 13 mph which would be the better ball for me. I shoot around the 2 arrow to the 3 arrow

The slight extra kick of the Violent Collision might be just what you're looking for re: your backup release.
