Can I just say that even though Dissidia NT may have some flaws, one thing that I absolutely love about the game is that we finally get to experience post Advent Children Cloud Strife. No more brooding, no more being lonely, no more obsession with Aerith's death and Sephiroth. This is a Cloud Strife that has grown beyond those things and it shows throughout all of story mode. He's more of a hero than ever before. This game basically has my favorite version of Cloud. Terra as well since we also get to see post game Terra in all her adorable glory. She is nothing like the Terra from Dissidia and Dissidia 012. This Terra is confident and is ready to make the most of herself and her friends. Kefka has no power over her anymore. Oh yeah and shout out to best boy Cecil who is technically married at this point lol! And Noctis being an adorable dork as always haha!
In a way, Cloud has reached the end of his story in FF7. Anything else that comes after, mainly in spin-offs and crossovers could be interpreted as a continuation of his story, albeit a bit non-important.
It's feels kind of bittersweet in a way, that we get to see post game personalities but not much cause the game was considered a failure and won't get anymore updates or characters...it was gonna be 50+ plus characters if I recall correctly, just imagine the posibilities -Zack and Aerith finally meeting with post AC Cloud and Sephiroth -Vivi simply existing and interacting in that game would make my life complete -Leon from FF2 would be nice, we need more dark knight goodness
So Noctis, Cloud, Squall, and Kain interacting with each other is interesting. Lightning, Yshtola, and Terra speaking with each other is adorable. But also wonderful to talk about what the world would end up being.
This is the first thing that's made me wonder if the first story campaign really was just like, season one of a much larger story. A second campaign with an expanded move set ontop of the complete roster?
For the Brooding FF boys interacting was my favorite scene in all of NT. Nomura's boys Cloud, Squall and Noctis hanging around with Kain under the night sky...man this is my kinda fanservice, no freaking goofy character to ruin the dark mood, I love it.
Seriously though, I feel like the scenes just emphasized how different Cloud and Terra is compared to the previous dissidia. Their personalities are reflective of who they are by the end of their own titles.
Fallon Taylor we know that, but the personality they drew inspiration from for NT characters was said to be from the later parts of their respective games (such as a more confident Terra)
Fallon Taylor it is cannon within the dissidia, but they don't remember it after leaving that world. It also has strong ties to ff1 with cid and his wife and garland.
Yeah it would always be nice if we could get all the things we wanted fast, but it takes time and Sqare is really busy. So I think 2 new cutscenes + a new character every 2 months is something we should appreciate... Eventually I do think the story will get big if they continue to add scenes and possibly more battles (The scene with the guys seemed to suggest that)
I love that all of the characters remember eachother and recall eachothers goals and strifes. One thing you gotta give this series is the writing, Kain knowing about clouds issues with sephiroth is so cool becusse they come from such different worlds

@@wingadept8793 Noct's life was actively falling apart in his game which is why he was super emotional, things just got progressively worse and worse in 15 story. But even in the few non-story related moments he's way less emo and more on the socially awkward side of things, I mean look how often he stutters, or tells bland jokes with his friends. Even in this game he's just confused and asking questions while calling out how weird everyone else is, Cloud or Squall would just ignore those things and say "whatever".
I think this scene really shows Clouds development from ff7 and AC, unlike in KH, world of ff and the previous game where he seems to be represented either pre or mid character development.

I can just picture Firion jumping from portal to portal, frantically searching for a rose to replace the one he and Lightning shared. His search ends in Alexandria, finding a single bloom amongst the flower carts, he returns to Lightning to fulfill his promise. Being in the right place at the wrong time, Cecil sees the two of them conversing from afar and once again, misinterprets the situation while commenting something about Firion finally admitting his feelings.
For, example, Lightning and Kain could talk about how they sacrificed themselves to let others return to their homes, and how Materia and Spiritus returned them right away. And ask was it worth it? (Seriously I so disappointed this topic is never brought up).
I's cool to see how Amano's stile make Kain look so different from the three characters with an edgy anime art the franchise took after he left the character design and how unique his art style is

We don’t know if these beings have wills, or are just playing that part of puppets. The space between each line is so slow it’s like the characters aren’t even talking to each other, and the conversations hold no weight or drive. I can only hope that this slow burn develops into something interesting, but I’m sure this will be more of the same.

Summary: Light, Yos and Terra talking about nothing important. Cloud, Noct and Kain discussing things, Squall having a riveting conversation in his head we don't get to hear.
Yup nothing important, what if's are generally not important. I really hoped they could talk about something at least interesting or think of sometime to hint at for future story events, like Terra and Yos feeling a disturbance in the Force or something, or even just throwing Rinoa into the story as an introduction which would have been a cool way to show her off. But nope, what if's, great.....
Articuno224 I can see that, unfort to me, it was just a generic line heard in most other RPGs that tend to be filler content rather than enhance the plot or give us new material to look forward to, call it hopeful banter. It would be nice or what if's are normally dead end conversations that end with, yea that would be nice....then awkward pauses which we see here. I'd be happier if Lightning explained the dumb thought process behind deciding to take leadership advice from Snow at the end of XIII, considering he practically killed his whole team with that strategy prior..
I really liked this scene! And I got really exited when they said "Prepare for the struggles ahead" this makes me think that we'll definitely be getting a lot more story AND more battles in story mode! So maybe the story will end up being big after a while.
Lightning, Terra, and Y’shotla having a very interesting conversation on their outlook of the world made me think of so many crude jokes relating to feminism😂

Those cutscenes... It looks like that this game will have a sequel. I can feel it expecely the girls scenes. Hopefully we can give more story to complete the gaps.

All these “three emos” comments when the entirety of the scene is literally Cloud expressing how he’s done being brooding and self-pitying, and also one of them is _Noctis._ Literally the only one still playing up the loner act for no good reason whenever he can is Squall.
🤔 I can totally see Square creating a future game where it turns out the worlds origin story is from this one and they have some kind of legend about ancient entities or heroes that were made to battle and feed life into their planet to give it’s shape.

From the opening cutscene, its shown that Noctis was specifically snatched right out of the Regalia in the middle of a nap, meaning during his journey in Lucius. It could always be from Chapter 15 when Umbra sent his consciousness back in time to continue enjoying his journey.

All of it is incredibly...bland. I miss the interactions in Duodecim, where there was an actual conflict. Worse, they removed the pre-battle dialogues, which were always funny and full of references. Here, the characters are almost talking about the weather... That's boring. I want a scene with characters like Tidus, Bartz of Vaan, because at least they are goofy.
I would love if they put pre-battle dialogues again! it's something little, but worth to put some expectative into it... they added Locke to the game? wonder what he and Zidane will say to each other in pre-battle... or Terra... every new character would make us intriged to see what will be the little pre-battle interaction wich each other character
+Almir Lopes I loved these ! Every character had something original to say to each other character. It was pretty neat, funny, and it gave more depth to the universe, as basic as it was. Here, they only say random heroic stuff that doesn't even relate to their character, and when they are together, they talk about random stuff. Y'shtola, for exemple, had nothing to say on the fact that summons help you, when in her world, summons have to be destroyed as fast as possible. Etc. Oh and what are they waiting for to add Gilgamesh ? He's the only character that could spice up the dialogues. But heh, apparently they lied to us on bringing back all the previous characters... (we still lack Prishe, Gabranth, Laguna, Yuna and Tifa !)

Yup nothing important, what if's are generally not important. I really hoped they could talk about something at least interesting or think of sometime to hint at for future story events, like Terra and Yos feeling a disturbance in the Force or something, or even just throwing Rinoa into the story as an introduction which would have been a cool way to show her off. But nope, what if's, great.....
I disagree, I thought the point of them talking about bringing life and all that is because it might be a goal they will strive for.
Articuno224 I can see that, unfort to me, it was just a generic line heard in most other RPGs that tend to be filler content rather than enhance the plot or give us new material to look forward to, call it hopeful banter. It would be nice or what if's are normally dead end conversations that end with, yea that would be nice....then awkward pauses which we see here. I'd be happier if Lightning explained the dumb thought process behind deciding to take leadership advice from Snow at the end of XIII, considering he practically killed his whole team with that strategy prior..

I really liked this scene! And I got really exited when they said "Prepare for the struggles ahead" this makes me think that we'll definitely be getting a lot more story AND more battles in story mode! So maybe the story will end up being big after a while.
Always enjoy the scenes with squall. But maybe give him a lil more dialogue for substance.

Yeah squall had some decent character development and lines in the original game....even if the whole thing was unfinished aka rushed.
Lightning, Terra, and Y’shotla having a very interesting conversation on their outlook of the world made me think of so many crude jokes relating to feminism😂

Kain is why Caius is NEVER gonna be in Dissidia. Same voice actor and tone/pitch means Caius has no chance being in the game.

All these “three emos” comments when the entirety of the scene is literally Cloud expressing how he’s done being brooding and self-pitying, and also one of them is _Noctis._ Literally the only one still playing up the loner act for no good reason whenever he can is Squall.
Finally I got to see my 2 favourite characters in this cutscene, Noctis and Cloud.
🤔 I can totally see Square creating a future game where it turns out the worlds origin story is from this one and they have some kind of legend about ancient entities or heroes that were made to battle and feed life into their planet to give it’s shape.

From the opening cutscene, its shown that Noctis was specifically snatched right out of the Regalia in the middle of a nap, meaning during his journey in Lucius.
It could always be from Chapter 15 when Umbra sent his consciousness back in time to continue enjoying his journey.

All of it is incredibly...bland. I miss the interactions in Duodecim, where there was an actual conflict. Worse, they removed the pre-battle dialogues, which were always funny and full of references.
Here, the characters are almost talking about the weather... That's boring.
I want a scene with characters like Tidus, Bartz of Vaan, because at least they are goofy.

+Almir Lopes I loved these ! Every character had something original to say to each other character. It was pretty neat, funny, and it gave more depth to the universe, as basic as it was.
Here, they only say random heroic stuff that doesn't even relate to their character, and when they are together, they talk about random stuff.
Y'shtola, for exemple, had nothing to say on the fact that summons help you, when in her world, summons have to be destroyed as fast as possible. Etc.
Oh and what are they waiting for to add Gilgamesh ? He's the only character that could spice up the dialogues. But heh, apparently they lied to us on bringing back all the previous characters... (we still lack Prishe, Gabranth, Laguna, Yuna and Tifa !)
Imagine if instead of a gathering of brooding heroes, the conservation with Kain were to be between him and his "victims" from 012?
