Furio’s uncle was probably the wisest and most knowledgeable character in The Sopranos the way he warns Furio about Tony and Carmela shows that he’s been around mob bosses long enough to know that while most of them may be violent and dangerously petty and vindictive lunatics they are not stupid or ignorant sucked that Furio disappeared but it probably hints that he listened to his uncle and wisely did what he said
And the old adage: loose lips sink ships. Never know when somebody driving around, walking, whatever might be amd see something and report back to a boss that could have whacked. Or some rando that knows and sells info for money who knows. But indeed don't be stupid as old man said lol
The scones are a great metaphor in that scene - Furio recognizes Carmella's skill at baking, comments with great affection and respects her efforts while being cheerful. Tony comes downstairs, barely notices them, picks one up, takes a single bite and tosses it back on the same dish without a care in the world. One shows love and respect, one shows mere convenience and little interest.
