I watched part of the video: up to the leaf, and then went to do something else. When I came back to it I thought I must have missed some as the leaf looked like a mountainous landscape looking through a valley. I like it both ways!
Hi. I couldn't see the whole video yesterday but I have today. I've listened to all your words and I agree with you. There's beauty around us, we just have to stop for a moment and pay attention. I love the video and I wish I could paint like you . I bought a watercolour set a month ago . I'm new at this technique and I must say that my beginning was a disaster 😝 so I'm taking my time watching videos like yours hoping someday I'll have a go again. From Spain 🤗
It's true! So many of us believe that we have to "feel inspired" to paint... but the truth is that we have to FIND inspiration wherever we go. If we look for it, we will find it :)
A really great video as was the previous one regarding your kit. I’ve used the same type of kit for years and stumble on improvements to it now and then. Water brushes are likely the most important invention for artists since watercolor itself lol! You’re a wonderful teacher and presenter. You should be happy to show your sketches to others, they’re really exceptionally loose and expressive while still being pleasantly convincing of realism. Glad I found you here and hope to see you make more videos. You’re a lovely young lady. 👍👍👍👍👍
I'm a painting novice & have avoided water colour & plein air painting because trying something I have no knowledge or skills in feels pretty scary to tell the truth. Watching these 2 videos taught me a lot ... I recognise I had a mistaken belief art was in the detail but watching these 2 videos I get it's about creating a loosely detailed composition by painting incrementally light to dark compositional values to add shape, form, & depth ... such a light bulb 💡 insight 😏 From an educational perspective being able to see the scene you're painting, at beginning, in middle, and at end of session, would facilitate & enhance student comprehension & learning. I find your kit quite ingenious ... can you share which primary colours you use please? Overall I got a lot out of these 2 videos ... thank you from a grateful Australian 🐨 🐾
I am excited to try this. I have never done plein air painting, but is seems so therapeutic and such a great to improve your observational skills of form and color value.
I did my first plein air painting today in my backyard with my daughter sitting beside me drawing. It didn’t turn out the way I envisioned, but it was great practice and the best part of my day. Thank you for the inspiration to try something new!

Are these warm or cool blues and reds? I find that certain reds and blues get really muddy when I mix them together with something else. I should have made notes on which ones, but of course I didn't
