I tell you this video came at a wonderful time as I have 2 half loaves of sourdough bread in the freezer and I was just talking to my husband about making bread pudding. You must’ve been the fly on the wall the other day. Thank you so much for sharing this video.
I usually make a pumpkin Bread pudding with a caramel sauce for my son when fall hits. He loves bread pudding of almost any kind! We have the pumpkin bread pudding and pumpkin Gooey Cake for the holidays. I love the bread pudding with pecan liqueur baked in it, but my son is allergic to all tree nuts, so that cancels that out. I have also made the pumpkin with Craisins instead of Raisins. I want to try a Craisin and Pear Bread Pudding with pecans and the pecan liqueur in it with a little orange zest. I made a compote of all of this one year instead of cranberry sauce and it was a big hit. There are so many delicious versions of this dessert/ breakfast with so many sauces that you can experiment until your heart is content. I have heard of using a can of fruit cocktail as the fruit and I have used cinnamon raisin bagels for the bread too…that way I didn’t have to buy raisins separate, and you don’t have to let them get stale( or will come out too tough). You can cut it into servings, wrap and freeze for when you want a piece. It just doesn’t last that long at my house! 😂
Yum, a staple here in the South. Out of favor, lol, was thinking about turkey gallantine in aspic last night lol Reminds me I need to make Christmas Morning Wife Saver again - easy overnight savory breakfast version that's sooo good.
Making this as soon as I get home tonight. I had forgotten how good bread pudding is! You can also add yogurt or whipped cottage cheese as part of the milk mixture to up the protein along with the eggs.
