Phase 1: use tax collection tech tree 2 times. justify and war koreas, spam 12 elec factories, 2 motors, 1 fertilizer, 1 aircraft manufacturer, 3 civilian. (Public service act, improve infrastructure)
Phase 2: use koreas treasury to spam develop, develop 2 times then max out government spending to support tax reform and develop for 3rd time
Phase:4 make 40k tanks 1 ac, 2 battleships, 2 destroyers, 2 subs(If china average), or start with just 4k tanks (Slowly build up tanks as you need to get naval superiority first if china and russia super sweats ) 10+ battleships , 10+ subs, 10+ destroyers, arty spam (Build ac after full naval dominance.
Phase 3: Declare on china, russia , usa and TENNO HEIKA BANZAI

Yes. I wanna play Poland but the Germans keep invading me. Even though I use extreme defense on my cities that give Germany stupid casualties, it's never enough.
my main strategy is ally france and uk so in case he tries to take me they would attack him, of course you will need tanks and aircrafts
Fertilizer
I main sweden and my game plan is:
1. Start by researching factory output 2 and justify war on finland and estonia.
2. Build two elec factories and purchase the necessary materials for 1 motor factory, 1 fertilizer factory, 1 aircraft manefactory, one steel manefactory and 3 civ factories.
3. Make 60k infantry ( so you have 80k) attack finland and wait until his troops come. Take his capital and then autocapture finland.
4. By this time you should have justified war on latvia and lithuania. You should also have made at least 800 tanks since you start by building motor factory and steel manefactory after you annex finland. Use your tanks to take the baltics (and use the remaining infantry if you want.
5. You should also be selling enough elecs to be able to have government spending on high.
6. Change conscription laws to limited once you get 200 political power. Also annex the baltics and complete building your factories.
7. Here comes the fun part, form swedish empire and justify war on russia and start making 2000-3000 tanks and in the baltic airports make 6-9 attackers (if russia has planes also make fighters and anti air) make 200-400 artillary and one destroyer and one submarine. If you have more mp make 1k more tanks are infantry.
8. Declare war on russia. Put your destroyer next to st. Peterburg and quickly take russias port cities in the baltic sea. Form a tank line with artillary behind. Start harrassing his troops with with your attackers. Try to take annex some parts like st petersburg and kaliningrad areas so your borders look better.
This is just to have fun, if you want to then take the rest of europe, but i usually leave the server at this point.

the only bad thing about playing as japan is that IT TAKES SO LONG TO JUSTIFY when you are deomcratic. Its so easy managing the army expenses and stability, even before watching this video, but it takes 2 years to justify on usa

@@gelon3333 you would need to gather 750 pp for non aligned, and 250 or 750 more to switch to another ideology. Also, 2x taxes does change something, like how 2x5 million is 10 million.

Ur closest neighbour is korea(ur done if the player is good or allied with china or russia at this point)

If you're up for something difficult two of the formables require you to conquer a lot of nations as small nations. For one you have to get all of Manchuria as North Korea and for the other one you need to conquer a lot of the Middle East and South/Cental Asia as Azerbaijan
if you get really tired of ron i suggest doing almost impossible challenges like forming eu as san marino and stuff like that

Spending, and rushing quantum
My strategy for japan is to make 3 civs, 2 motor, 1 fert, 2 steel, and 1 elec on startup and buy every resource I need immediately sometimes before i even make factories. I get policies Improve infrastructure and tax collection and max out my government spending and rushing for rank 1 govt tech to allow for getting reaserch act or military service act while allowing me to get to volunteer laws in a reasonable time to balance out any need to fight a war while preparing to get into full action
I somehow managed to form the Empire of Japan on accident. I did suffer from stability. But got control of it in the late games.
How tf do you do it on a accident? Not trying to be mean or anything but you cant accidentally declare war on a country and accidentally send troops to them.
For me, when I play as a democratic country and my stability is low, I just turn on martial law

Fun fact: once while playing Japan in order to invade Taiwan I’ve had my forces OBLITERATED. By the AI… I had around 7x their forces plus tanks and artillery and better technology yet I still lost. God sometimes I hate this game.

Taking korea would be hard because normally some China player decides they want it and China is hard to invade because their home guard alone is over 1 mil

For declaring wars martial law can sometimes come in handy to up stability so having extra political power can be useful
Just develop your country once and play the right cards. You can easily take China if you do. Invest in strike groups consisting of tanks backed by a navy with atleast 1 air carrier. I say strike group of tanks is because you don't use them to fully invade at the beginning. Try taking key cities at the coasts and if China is bad, Beijing. Make sure at all times that China doesn't ever exceed you in naval capabilities by spreading your subs so you can react quickly if let's say China spawned battleships. If not then send your navy to deal with it as quickly as possible. As long as you have a better navy, you win. Japan imo has the greatest potential to quickly be top1 in rankings.

China you should prioritize defense, if you give the China player lots of casualties (remember to use a navy around korea so they don't invade via sea)

North Korea and south Korea are allies
defending north korea is easy. mass spam eletronic factories, Forced larbour policy, atleast 20 million trade income, form korea and it becomes one of the easiest nations to defend and attack with. with the money u got from trade income and the mp gain, u can outspam china tanks/infantry easily, and afford a bigger navy than japans
North Korea op just tell China hey don’t kill me I’ll give cheap consumer goods at like 0.1 price since it’s still good cash and sell to rest of world powers little more like 0.15-0.2 and presto with your huge eco you can fight off Japan or just ask China to do it

I once got my capital nuked and lost almost all of my colonies, had 0% stability and 10% war exhaustion. Remarkably, I had so much treasury and manpower that I still annexed russia while collapsing. After the stability and attrition cooled down, I was able to completely restore my empire!

Democracies are one of the most broken ideologies in the entirety of Rise of Nations, being able to scale up to a T = 5P multiplier without Emergency War Fund or Max Taxation. Here are the main things you want to keep in mind, especially when playing Democratic Japan.
1: FOR ALL OF OUR SAKES DON'T INVADE MICRONATIONS!!!!
All starting democracies have such an insane income to the point of which it is completely pointless to even invade them. It is a complete waste of time if not forming a formable (Empire of Japan), especially considering the devastating -3% stability hit.
2: Developing is your BEST friend!
All democracies benefit MASSIVELY from city tiers, just one city tier for all of your cities can be over 20M income, snowballing even more to +50M income in the later tiers!
3: Quality is ALWAYS better than quantity!
Due to the nature of democracies, you are not going to be able to hyper-expand like communist nations and fascist nations. As a result, focusing on the quality of your cities (Tier 8, Tax 5 (research), Sinoloa Protocol, Shipyards, Airports) is able to make you insane amounts of money (500M income with only 100M population!)
4: Research economy!
Goes both ways. Use your economy to fund your research, and use your research to fund your economy. Rush quantum as quick as you can (your starting economy is enough to sustain max government spending and max research with excess money for development). This allows you to snowball faster than any other nation, and very quickly get Tax 5, Anti-Corruption, Encourage Meritocracy, Sinoloa Protocol, -40% Building Cost, etc!
5: Bombers are your best friend!
Due to the nature of democracies, you aren't going to have an infinite amount of manpower to overwhelm your opponent with tanks, and naval units are often annoying to relocate. As a result, mass bombers can be a completely devastating power play that can scorch capitals for 20 years straight. In addition, over 60 bombers are able to completely ignore Anti-Air as the casulties become completely irrelevant. In addition, airports also boost tax income, perfect for a democracy run. Furthermore, bombers can easily annihilate infantry and naval transport ships, as well as destroying economies, scorching key military bases and destroying ships with medium difficulty.
6: Your leaders are key!
Leaders are important, but especially so when playing Democracies. Industry Ministers and Infrastructure Ministers can massively reduce the cost of your development, especially when paired with the Building Cost research, Improve Infrastructure, Mass Construction Act and Ignore Safety Regulations (80% cost reductions!) In addition, your leaders can help you do insane feats, such as Extra Tax and Political Power (Political Reformer), +10 Base Stability (Enough to rival the Statue modifier!), Political power and Integration Speed (Interior Minister +5 Base Stability + Head of Government +5 Base stability), +20% Research (Researcher), -0.22 Corruption (Chief Judge, also +3 Base Stability at max AND enough to rival the highest level of the Spending Tech Tree!), +15% Defence (Fortification Minister), +20% tax and -15% Develop City cost (Finance Minister) and so much more!

first thing I do as Japan is max my city tiers getting so much tax that I basically have tons of research points by the time I am done so I can finish the research branch and put research and gov spending on maximum without having anything happen to my economy the plus side of this is now that the entire Japanese country is max tier cities you can also fortify tokyo and all the high population cities which makes it torture to take especially Tokyo fortifying Tokyo when it has so much population really makes it stressful to take and with mandatory civil service taking tokyo or any fortified high population city is torture it's near impossible
I have done this strategy before and a Russian player declared on me and sent in infantry of 500k power so basically 50 over and over his troops could not take any of the fortified cities I turned the Japanese country into a tank the player had sent so much he ran out of man power after that I got my own infantry and trained them for winter and steam rolled all of Russia

When playing as Japan, I usually get 1 electronic factory, 1 steel, 1 motor, 1 fertilizer, and 2 civilian factories. Believe it or not, that's really all you need. Since Japan has no resources, I wouldn't recommend being a voracious consumer of resources because the country itself has no resources. Too many factories can make for a liability and easy target for an opposition if you ever get into a war. Plug up the missing resources and factory goods by employing the Public Service Act. Then introduce Tax Reform, turn government spending to maximum, research to maximum, and tax to high. Doing this, you should be getting at least 0.14 stability increase
while that works, my strategy prepares for later when you conquer china when you need a lot of consumer goods
