As someone who has not yet gotten that foot in the door moment even a few years after graduating, it's honestly so relieving to hear the stories of how professionals are dealing with layoffs and that they are also struggling. I'm in the same kind of space right now where I'm questioning EVERYTHING about what it even looks like for me to be ✨"a successful artist"✨ Thank you for sharing this!
Animation as a career for me was so unstable that I couldn’t really stay in it. It also wrecked my enjoyment of art creating, as I was always trying to find a way to market my art and make it profitable. Is it any wonder I burnt out 😂 my goal now is to just try to enjoy making art for myself, I work a boring 9-5 for the stability and don’t think I’ll be back into the animation world. But your video is inspiring and I love your manifestation sketchbook!
I work a corporate 9-5 and that’s not even stable anymore in this climate! My goal is to upskill and growth in my career so I can live the life I want that aligns with my values. You work to live.
I wanted a career in art so bad but your videos gave me perspective on the reality of creative careers. I can't make the time i missed out but I still want to go back on the drawing board for me at least
Most artists I know dream to become a big time industry concept art/illustrator. They put in alot of work and practice really hard and they are amazing. Unfortunately, some of them burn out and reality hit them..
Been subscribed since you posted your anime styled animations. I remember seeing your very own anime opening and was excited to see u attempt to animate ur own series! I understood that wouldve been extremely difficult though. Youve created a lot of amazing work. Very proud of you!!
As someone that worked in the gaming industry for four years (concept artist), it depends on two things: 1) The studio you work for and 2) how much you need to earn. Does the studio have a hierarchy where you can movie up and is it a stable job? If not, you might want to look elsewhere. And do you have kids and a mortgage? If you do, make sure the job pays well enough to cover those bills and make sure the job has good insurance (If living in the US). There are obviously other factors, but I feel like those are the two most important starting points.
People are always gonna share their input, and sometimes (more often than not) from a well intentioned perspective ...so, as that's always gonna happen, each one has to develop their own Discernment, especially in this noisy era we live in. And to be honest, artists tend to be the weak and flimsy side of having inner Authority and being Self-Discerning. Alas the situation you are describing.
Really beautiful and motivating video - but thats because you realized what really matters in life, what it is not easy at all. Thank you for such inspiring words, world needs videos like this.
This video got me thinking - Is it a case of putting stuff out there and seeing if it gets traction with creative money making endeavours. Or are there evaluation “tools” you would recommend before launching into creative projects that need to generate some income
I been working and struggle and coming back to art again because i felt like it was destined for me. Getting my art out there is hard or idk the marketing
I love this video, these days i'm struggling to show my stuff successfully, I have artstation, medium and linkedin and a lot of times i feel lost managing those social medias.... any tips on how to you plan content or make a calender for post in those social media?
Just stumbled across your video and resonated so much with what you said. Would you have any advice for anyone starting out as to which social platform you'd show up for first? Like how would you have done it if you were to do it all over again? Thank you.
"NEVER GIVE UP ON YOUR DREAM" is the number 1 wealth killer from my experience. Most people's dreams are either not realistic, or not economically feasible. If you have the skills, training, and knowledge....and your dream is realistic, then yes....keep working at it. If you're 5'8" and dream to play in the NBA, your chances are .000001%.
Hello! I would like to pitch an show idea to Netflix… Do you know where I can find the contact information of an agent? I have been looking around and can’t find one.

Thank you for this. The art world has definitely been discouraging in my personal experience but this has made it inspiring again.

YESSS loved this! Totally agree 💗
I actually teared up, this resonated so much with me, I've felt so lost with my art, trying very hard to have my art seen, thankyou so much 🥲❤⭐️
Glad this helped in any way!

its no longer a stable career path unfortunately
I'm 26 and already got my foot in the door in the gaming industry. Should I quit now before it's too late?

Lol, this might sound weird but I've been subscribed to your channel for awhile. And this is the first time I learned your real name. 🤣
Lol well nice to meet you! I'm Michelle! ahaha

The manifestation sketchbook is a brilliant idea. I will try doing one myself.

Oh, I almost forgot. You can post my last comment about the two websites for your art career. 😊
Making money is good as long you are not scamming other artist for your benefit like Bobby Chiu.
I'm sorry what 😭 What he do??
You’re going to have to back up this claim.
Yeah you have to back that up dude.
What am I missing? He always seemed legit to me. Was he exposed for something?
