Sooo...I obviously had a lot of opinions, what are some of yours? Do shorts have an age limit? Either way, thank you so much for spending a little time with me.
I agree with you 💯%. If you want to wear shorts then wear shorts. If you play tennis are you supposed to wear a turtleneck with an ankle skirt? The fashion police need to pay attention to their own fashion and life.
I'm a 36 yo and I look up to more mature women who live for them...I'm inspired! ❤ ignore the naysayers..ppl really are miserable out here...live your life!!!
Hey Girl Hey! I refuse to allow society to dictate for me what I say, wear or do. My motto is that I have more days behind me than in front of me so I am going to just LIVE on my terms. Also, these hot flashes hit me at anytime and I can't stand for restricted clothes because everything makes me hot. I say do YOU!
Someone once made a comment on my channel saying “ aren’t you too old to wear light denim 😂. Yet 99% of comments were saying they loved the look. I’m 49 and I’m going to wear what I want and not what society thinks i should wear. We are at that age where we don’t care about other people’s opinions.
The nerve! You're so right about how much/little we value those opinions. We've earned the right to do as we please as long as it's not hurting anyone else. Thanks so much for stopping by!
Hi, at the young age of 59 I can still pull off wearing almost everything. However, I am starting to be just slightly more modest😂 but, there is a time and place for everything!!
I just stumbled across your page. I’m a 35yo woman. After caring for my mom in my home, I lost her when she turned 59 (2 weeks after her bday). Your commentary on enjoying life and being happy touched me deeply. As i watched my mother live with a rare disease for the past 3 years i often wondered how regretful she might have been of not living out loud a bit more while her body allowed her to. Kudos to you for doing you, unapologetically. Thank you so much for sharing your wisdom, i sincerely appreciate it.
Thank you so much for sharing your story. A person never TRULY dies until the last person who knew and loved that person passes away too. In that sense, your mother will get to live her life out loud...if you do. I say go to some of the places she dreamed of and those she never knew to imagine. Order a meal she would've liked to share and indulge in her good memories. I'm glad you came across my channel and I sincerely hope you'll consider building better memories than those of her last three years. Best wishes! ❤️
Hi 👋 Kymberly ! My name is Ms. Cheryl Alli. I am 65 years old and I found your TH-cam channel by accident and I am soooo glad that I found your channel. I have subscribed and hit the like 👍 button. I am thinking about sharing your channel with one of my best friends. She is in her early sixties too. Even though I am older than you I think that I can learn a lot from you though. I agree with you 💯 I too was lonely in a previous toxic relationship. I too am divorced. Been divorced since 1988 !!!!!!! I was married 2 times, 2 divorces, both of my exes are deceased now May they rest in peace...I have no regrets about those 2 marriages. The first one gave me my one and only child and the second marriage taught me the value of my very own life. And no, I am not a grandmother yet, although I am patiently waiting on God's timing to bless my only child with a child or children in the near future. I agree with everything you were talking about in this video. I have a lot of respect for teachers because they are able to reach a child and meet them where they are, when the parent or parents can't. So, I say you go girl !!!!!!! I am right ✅️ there with you as a strong, single Black Women !!!!!!! Black Women need to Stop Hating On Each Other and instead Support, Mentor and Empower each other regardless of age. I have one suggestion not a complaint. Please stop saying we're going to do this or that instead say I am going to do this or that. There is Noone in the video 📹 but you. Why do you keep saying we're? Maybe you aren't aware that you're saying we're instead of I. Anyway, it's just an observation of mine while watching your videos. I am on a mission to be all that God created me to be and I need practical, as well spiritual guidance, to achieve that goal in my life, at my age; because, that saying " it's never too late" is a lie, that we have all heard before. I know that my time on planet earth 🌏 is limited. I don't have any more time to waste. So, I applaud you for obeying God when the Holy Spirit told you to start your own Channel on TH-cam !!!!!!! May God continue to Bless you, your daughter and your other loved ❤ones in your life and your TH-cam channel.
Hi Cheryl! First of all I want to thank you for being so open and transparent. I appreciate that. Congratulations on seeing the value of your past marriages. It took me a little while to get to that point. You're so right about Black women needing to support each other. When I say "we" that's the "we" I'm referring to, Black women. I'm pretty good at hearing those dog whistles and definitely love to uplift women in general but particularly those of us who are least supported. Believe it or not, talking to the round lens of a camera is not at all easy for me. To combat that, when I get comments from you beautiful ladies, I tend to blow up your picture so that the next time I'm filming, I see who I'm talking to. I'm not in my kitchen alone talking to you all; "we" are hanging out, talking and communing. It may sound odd, but it works for me. I hope you'll continue to stick around and support we continue to grow this supportive community. 🤗 Thanks for tuning in Cheryl!
Omg. I felt that when you said you felt more lonely while in the relationship than when you weren’t. I truly knew that feeling (relationship prior to my hubby now)
Exactly. I’ve always said they can’t stand us but love our vibe, our culture, our music. Even though the call it “ghetto”. Even when we talk loud. We are called ghetto but they are called passionate. SMH.
I recently explained to one of my co-workers that I don't have the luxury of being passionate as I'll either be labeled and ABW or ghetto loooong before I'll be seen as being passionate.
I’m in the process of divorcing after 33 years of an unfulfilled, lonely and toxic marriage. I definitely stayed too long. I raised 3 amazing children who are college educated and successful. I’m so excited to live on my own finally and just do me! I stumbled across your page and I was like oh wait sis is talking about me 😅 new subscriber here! Fabulous Fifties🎉
Oh, Honey, I blew your picture up; Fabulous and Fine Fifties is what you need to be saying. Happiness looks FANTASTIC on you. Congratulations on raising what sounds like amazing adults. You're right, it's your time and I hope that as you "go gray" you live a colorful life!
Thank you for getting those who are judging you together. We have one life and it’s meant to be lived unapologetically. I’m so happy I found your channel. I paused the video and subscribed!!!
Dance and be free, wear shorts and anything else you want. Life is too short. Some people have nothing else to do but criticize. Just know you are beautiful and free!
Hey ! A lot of valid points in this vlog. You can’t do anything without someone saying it’s ghetto but when other culture do it. It’s not consider that. Sad but true. I hope this video reach a lot of people because some need to hear it.
Hi from Houston Texas! Your channel came across my screen and I just wanted to say hello and tell you I just subscribed after finishing just one video. I really enjoyed watching!
Hi beautiful! it warms my heart to see more of us on here and on social media overall! This was a great topic...one that truly resonates with me. I remember wearing a really short skirt with some thigh high boots and one person send a message to my fiance about me thinking I am still a teenager. Not only am I not trying to be teenager, but when did we start making our age dictate what we wear or how we act for that matter. I am so over the BS!!! On a lighter note, so happy to connect with you here. I am 53 and looking forward to growing and glowing, agelessly!!
Aw naw, fiances need to be off limit! And anyway, nobody wants to be a teenager again unless we can take our seasoned mind with us. I could've SWORN my elders were lying when they said that but now I know much better.
Hi Kymberly, I’m glad you popped up in my algorithm! I love your videos; you keep things honest and far from ghetto. You’re a beautiful woman, and I’m in my mid-40s. I find you very encouraging. I’m assuming you live in KC, MO, which is where I was born before moving away in my early teens. Thank you for sharing! ❤️
Lots to unpack in this vlog because you touched on so many subjects that need their own attention😅. In this economy, budgeting is definitely a must. I had never heard of the boiling frog and it’s a whole sermon to be preached! I will say marriage is hard and people can easily lose themselves in what comes with that, including happiness. What helps me is always is reinventing myself to be a better version of myself. As always, your vlog was so good!
Yesss! Steadily improving, never becoming stagnant is an absolute must. I think when people say they've grown apart it's bc someone in the marriage didn't make the effort to reinvent themselves into a better version of themselves. Such a good point!
Hello, just found your channel and currently binging on your videos. Thank you for creating quality content that is both relatable and inspirational. It's refreshing to log into TH-cam and find other black women who don't fit the black stereotype. Thank you so much and please keep the videoes coming!
Thank you so much for your encouragement! I think there are a lot of us out here looking to make connections with like minded women so I consider myself to be fortunate now that we've connected.
Hey gurl hey 😊, I just clicked on your video, you spoke to me when you said, being lonely in a relationship, because that's where I'm at right now 😢I want to be back single and happy again🤗
I want you to be happy again too. 🙏🏾 Men (presuming it's a man but not judging if it's not) don't spend a lot of time thinking about feelings. If he's around then you're not lonely in his mind. I wonder, if before you look at the "greener" grass of single life, if you've already sat down, no hinting, no soft stepping and told him how you feel. Don't get me wrong, I'm enjoying my single life but this is ONLY after I exhausted every other self-loving means possible. I'm truly wishing you the best! 🤗
New Subscriber! I am loving these life after 50 vlogs showing up in my feed! Yes when we are 50+ we can do what we want to do!😄One thing I'm gone do is dance when I feel like dancing and definitely wear shorts!
I mean so much of life has to be lived doing what's required (school, work, parenting, etc.) that by our age we've earned the right to do what we want. And I ain't mad at the young girls who do it either. Thank you so much for subbing, you're appreciated here.
Your channel just came into my feed. Enjoyed the video. To answer your question, no age limit to wearing shorts. By the way, I also subscribed to your channel. Thanks for sharing.
Hey Friend! I certainly appreciate your support but most of all, I'm glad to know that all is well enough for you that you CAN tune in. I've been thinking of you. ❤️
New Subbie here. So excited to see vloggers I can relate to. I’m an over 50 single teacher as well. I got all the vlogging stuff just need to get started.
...sometime being 💯 works out. In this case, I've gained a new friend. Thank you so much for subbing! 🤗 Then there are those times when this mouth o' mine don't do me no good.
LOL…shorts at 50…WHO do they think the elastic waist shorts are for…ME at 53…because I refuse to wear anything tight on my waist…if they want to talk…tell them (who have not made it to 50) to stop wearing spandex everywhere but the gym…LOL…50 is beautiful
Oooweee...you can't hit 'em with the beloved two piece spandex outfits! 😆🤣 You came to slay not play in the comments! That was priceless. Thank you for tuning in and for the laugh!
I am 54 years old and I still wear shorts. My mother and her sister wore shorts well into their 60s and 70s, before they transitioned. People can be so callused in their opinions that they should keep them to themselves. BTW, I live in the KC area. I am too navigating life as a 50+ woman. Qudos to you!
Hey neighbor! Maybe I'll see you on Vine Street one evening. Maybe we'll be in cute short sets when we run into each other 😆Thank you so much for tuning in!
Hmm, thank you for your points here and your feelings are so very valid the “and and and” is so factual. I’ve told you before that I really do appreciate you as an educator & it’s truly admirable how many hats you all wear. I have such a respect and now understanding for the level of patience and care it takes everyday. 4:22 when you sat the camera down I was ready to be SAT cause I knew 🤭✨🤌🏽 (Side note) I love love this discussion style vlog it fits you really well. 8:23 😂 I know that’s right, listen I will say them shorts watchers are STRICT chile🤣 someone told me I needed to “cover up” once and was arguing all through the comments. Everyone’s throwing stones living in glass houses 🌚 In other words Happy people aren’t hating and hating people aren’t happy 🥂 continue you to be you ✨🤌🏽 isn’t it crazy how the blue prints are shamed for celebrating the styles that were passed down to us but then renamed and rebranded into be ✨Iconic✨🧐🙃 23:56 the food looks amazing!!
Hey you! Honestly, I picture some of your faces (and yep, you're one of 'em) when I'm talking and it just feels like we're chatting it up in my kitchen or something. I'm glad you enjoyed.
My opinion is imma do what I want. 😂😂😂 you should too. You are adorable and people love trying to put someone in a box. If they don’t want to wear shorts after 50 that’s on them. People don’t know how to disagree with something someone might be doing and mind their own business. Always trying to tell somebody how to live their life. I wear what I want, go where I want listen to the music I like where my hair like I want with no regard. You can disagree without being disrespectful and spreading hate and vitriol. Do you, you look great. ❤😊
New subscriber. Those poor, boring azz people. They probably don't travel alone or wear red lipstick. I'm going to wear shorts until I leave this earth. And I wear heels, over 2 inches, and will do so until they really become uncomfortable. Keep doing you!
Hello, your video was in my recommended feed. I have my tongue pierced ( it’s been pierced since my younger days) my niece told me that I was to old for it (I’m 52), my reply to her was you just worry about what you will be doing at 50. I’m keeping my tongue ring. You would never know that I have one unless you are up in my mouth. I’m that “I’m just a girl” kind of 52. I don’t act to old, but I don’t act to old; if that makes sense.
It ABSOLUTELY makes sense. It sounds like you're committed to living the life that makes you happy and why shouldn't you be? No one else can do that for you so no one else should be able to take that from you! 😘
Thank youuu! 🤗 It's scary to think what effect negative comments could have on someone who is a little unsure of herself. I just hope that seeing an older woman living her life unapologetically helps assure someone in some way.
How about those CHIEFS!!! ❤ I agree that we dont always agree, but if we disagree, keep it cute and respectful!! Thank you for teaching children and adults. We appreciate you!!🎉🎉
I believe some of y’all just want views how does a 50 old woman says she doesn’t know how to dress for her age dress like you always been dressing style is starts within how you feel about the clothes you choose not what other women are wearing the basic jeans, blouses, shirts dress accordingly for the season and keep with the neutral colors as much as possible you can always build on them with gold ,silver or black etc ❤
I was so disappointed in James and Fuhad. But Ryan Clark made a beautiful statement defending black women. Something they both should have done. But hey. Now they have to play damage control. Then DJ Akademics tried to bash Ryan. Like boy go worry about you own Diddy allegations.
Until this mess, I'd never heard of them so I truly don't know whether they've been more supportive or not. In all honesty, they give "we don't really date BW vibes." I haven't seen the DJ response but Chile, that whole Diddy mess is crazy! If I was into clickbait commentary...let's just say I'd be monetized!
@@kymberlybonetomg. Girl they were all up and down my fy on TikTok. I was thinking the same but I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt. Exactly . I think we all would be monetized. Lol.
People are so mean and hateful, but disguise it as having an opinion. I don't understand the need for people to try and control strangers. Worry about yourself! They really do try to control and brow beat black women, all why imitating black women.
You know, I've never understood that either. My grandmother taught us to live and let live. I just hope we as women, particularly black women stop buying into the game of judging and overly criticizing ourselves. Thank you so much for tuning in and sharing your thoughts. I appreciate you.
You're too old for long hair. You need to cover up that gray hair. I'm 65 with long salt and pepper hair to my waist. Yet, I get compliments from everyone else. I often wear it in a long braid which emphasizes the salt and pepper. Unless your paying my bills you've got no say in my life. I've lived in three different countries the past six years. I've traveled by myself with just my dog on and off for 40+ years. I've been married, divorced, had relationships along the way. I'm a mom, grandmother and I'm just doing me and that's that. Life is so different outside the USA and these past six years have been a blessing. Being surrounded by those who aren't hyped up on image nor labels is lovely.
First of all, the raw nerve of some people never ceases to amaze me! Second, I wish my grays came in a beautiful salt and pepper manner; I wouldn't bother to color it. There's probably envy on their part too. I LOVE that you're living your happily ever after and traveling. Any time I've left the US, I've felt a completely different, relaxed vibe. I'm sure part of it was due to vacationing but also suspected that people in other countries were less rushed/stressed overall. Thanks for confirming that as well as for tuning in!
@@kymberlybonet Yes, the hair took time but I had a great stylist. He used a tinted gloss and helped eliminate the demarcation line disappear. I'm going to say it straight up. The most clap back came from other WOC. My hair is all mine and I've been blessed with a good head of it. I've never needed a weave, extensions etc. It's sad because I believe women should hold each other up not tear each other down. May we move forward in kindness. 🙌🏽❤️

@@kymberlybonet Yes we have earned the right! Thank you for sharing! 🥰
Nice to see someone on the tube that I can relate to.
Thank you so much for tuning in to check me out, Phyllis. I appreciate you.
I am sitting over here cracking up at your intro clip! 😂😂😂😂😂
Because you know that life is just funny sometimes.
Your channel just came into my feed. Enjoyed the video. To answer your question, no age limit to wearing shorts. By the way, I also subscribed to your channel. Thanks for sharing.
No limit whatsoever! Thank you so much for subbing!
Well said!!! You are far from ghetto! Love your vlog
Thank you so much! I hope you'll stick around.
@@kymberlybonet I definitely will!!! You’re welcome ❤️
Hey sis, I’ve watched this Vlog three times and this is my first time commenting.😅 Loved
your talking points thank you for sharing.
Well hello! Thank you so much for subbing. What do you teach? I'm sure whatever it is, you've got plenty of stories you could share so press record.
@@kymberlybonet special education in DC.
@@kymberlybonet what do you teach
@@NikLivinWithPurpose Hats off to you! I'm in elementary ed, currently teaching 1st grade.
@@kymberlybonet Girl I can’t do the babies too accident prone lol. I have in the past. I enjoyed it but high school is my niche.
I was hooked and subscribed at the shorts comment lol. I'm 54 and I get hot. I'm wearing shorts PERIODT. Haha
Love the video.
Okayyy! Folks are out here acting like shorts have an expiration date on 'em. They do not! Also, thanks so much for subbing!
“She should if she wants too!”💗💓💞💕💕 New subscriber
Indeed! Thank you for stopping by and subbing! 🤗
I love your chatty vlogs! Here watching at 2 am and now I want some seafood! Great vlog! ❤❤❤
2 am?! I hope you were up editing. Thanks for hanging with me.
Love this video! Live how you want to live. Enjoy life and who cares what others think. Btw you look absolutely gorgeous. Keep being you!
You're right, because at 50, I very likely have more days behind me than ahead of me. Thank you so much and thank you for tuning in!
Wow, love how you just kept it 💯! New subscriber 😊
...sometime being 💯 works out.
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I could listen to you talk all day. These are great topics that should be discussed more frequently. New subscriber her 💗
Oh wow, thank you so much! I appreciate you for taking the time to stop by and share your thoughts.
I love the seafood prep hunny
Thanks!
Great topic Kym
Thank you.
Heyyyy sis. I’m here watching. ❤❤❤
...and I truly appreciate you!
I really enjoyed your video. ❤
I'm so glad! Thank you for tuning in.
New subscriber ! i enjoyed this video thank you for sharing 💖
Thank you so much for spending some time with me. I truly appreciate you!
I’m new to your channel. Thoroughly enjoyed it. What were you shredding?
Well welcome and thanks so much for tuning in. I was shredding zucchini for the "pasta" in my shrimp marinara dish. I'm trying to cut down on carbs.
This title is everything 😂😂
It's funny that I got it from comments.
10:02 Amen!!!! Ase!!!!! Same!!!!
❤️
Everyone’s throwing stones living in glass houses 🌚
In other words Happy people aren’t hating and hating people aren’t happy 🥂 continue you to be you ✨🤌🏽 isn’t it crazy how the blue prints are shamed for celebrating the styles that were passed down to us but then renamed and rebranded into be ✨Iconic✨🧐🙃 23:56 the food looks amazing!!
Hey you! Honestly, I picture some of your faces (and yep, you're one of 'em) when I'm talking and it just feels like we're chatting it up in my kitchen or something. I'm glad you enjoyed.
@@kymberlybonetyes, my girl!✨🥂
New subscriber here! Keep it up! ❤
Thank you so much! I'll try.
Ooh, what you said! ❤️ Thank you very much!
New subscriber. Those poor, boring azz people. They probably don't travel alone or wear red lipstick. I'm going to wear shorts until I leave this earth. And I wear heels, over 2 inches, and will do so until they really become uncomfortable. Keep doing you!
The way I laughed out loud about red lipstick… 💄 You’re too funny! I love that you wear what you want, AS YOU SHOULD! Thank you so much for subbing!
*I subscribed- former Teacher🖐. Loved the profession hate the logistics & administration. Now, I'm working at the (dead people college.)❤
Thank you so much for subbing. I totally agree and understand...don't think it's changing anytime soon.
Do you Boo I love it not everyone can do that you love you & it shows! That’s awesome 👏🏾👏🏾👍🏾 🎉
Thank youuu! 🤗 It's scary to think what effect negative comments could have on someone who is a little unsure of herself. I just hope that seeing an older woman living her life unapologetically helps assure someone in some way.
❤❤❤❤
Thank you!
How about those CHIEFS!!! ❤ I agree that we dont always agree, but if we disagree, keep it cute and respectful!! Thank you for teaching children and adults. We appreciate you!!🎉🎉
I definitely appreciate you for stopping by!
You look 35! 😊
Ooh, the things I'd tell my 35 year old self...Thank you!
You're so right about style being unique and all about what makes a person feel good.
Lol.
Am 48 two year to the big 5
You're gonna LOVE it!
Yes
People are so mean and hateful, but disguise it as having an opinion. I don't understand the need for people to try and control strangers. Worry about yourself! They really do try to control and brow beat black women, all why imitating black women.
You know, I've never understood that either. My grandmother taught us to live and let live. I just hope we as women, particularly black women stop buying into the game of judging and overly criticizing ourselves. Thank you so much for tuning in and sharing your thoughts. I appreciate you.
Loving your channel... new Subbie ♥
Thank you so much, I appreciate you!
7:19 That part! Racist!
Oh new sub to transmute their intended negativity
Yes, 47 and shorts when I want to
Please and thank you because we need to block the hate!
I sincerely appreciate you.
@@kymberlybonet Transmuted!
@@agl5132 Absolutely true.
I feel like people so bothered about you dancing or wearing shorts and speaking on it gives “I need a life” energy.
I like that and I don’t think you’re wrong AT ALL!
You are not ghetto
I certainly try not to be...on camera for sure.
Did you say 57???? If so then you are the youngest looking 57 year old i have ever ever seen in my.life. ❤! Let me look for the face routine!,
Hi. Sorry for the late response, your comment was "hidden" for some reason. No, I said 50 "something." Hopefully, I'll still be able to hold it down when I'm 57 😄😂
@kymberlybonet Still looks good for 50 something!!!lol🥰😍
