My Grandpa David Hawkes was the youngest Cobra pilot/gunner in Vietnam in the 101st Airborne. He created an organization that helps pilots with PTSD. His stories are crazy. He doesn't like to talk about it much because of all the people he killed or saw killed. He always focused on the more positive things like saving lives and doing medevac. He is currently going in to surgery to remove his pretty severe prostate cancer. Wishing the best for him!

I have severe OCD and honestly one of the only times I find genuine enjoyment is when I'm on TH-cam watching videos. Well, those times and when I'm outside staring at the sky... I love looking at the clouds and trees... I truly do think that the universe is a special place that honestly needs to be cherished and not taken entirely for granted, we live in one such generation where we can still see the stars, why waste it being inside on youtube is what I say... hence why I'm outside on youtube... alot. Sometimes I can kinda multitask.

Note to others, flying with the collective ~85% will keep rpms at 100%, and it also gives you a bit more collective to reach for when in emergencies. You also stay more manoeuvrable when at 100%rpm.

Greeting from Vietnam! During the war, we vietnamese called these vehicles: "Airborne Cobber/Alluminum Mine", because each time we shot down or destroyed one, 20+ families received brand-new utensils and households. Some are still being used until today in rural areas

@@thatoneguy889 ummm, those planes/helicopters was dropping bombs on civilians, napalms on forrest, chemical weapons on children that remains until today. If you are so worry about military personnel that doing all that, we vietnamese captured them, treated them even better and then released them back to their families, no guilty or charges accounted

recently i noticed that there are two sav/m 43s that look the same. But the 1946 one has 240 MM OF PEN AT 3.0
I think there’s a new derp vehicle that hasn’t been in the spotlight yet.
Cause its mobility sucks and it always dies in one hit, as it's like 4 people stuffed in a chocolate box... the pen is good, but you don't normally one-shot people, because it's a spicy needle.
240mm of pen APDS i guess... small gun.. even smaller projectile... no HE filler... low post pen damage... it's like being able to pen a Maus but do no damage to it even after pen xd

Because people always bring it into GRB, use it as a first spawn vehicle because gaijin doesn't care, then fly into spawn wiping out half of your team before Fortunate Son can finish playing...
True. But also if you go do the helicopter game mode you just get sniped from 10km by ka50's. The only way to do well is to take no rockets, run the miniguns, and go hide in the mountains for players who are used to a point and click experience. Which is fun in between long lengths of boredom. I like the heli and its the only one I have and ever run. And from what I've seen. Its the chad helicopter. Just not as broken as the other helis
@@bugsy1563 lmao everyone suffers in heli mode cuz of top tier premium helis. All the gaijin have to do is make br systen active in heli battles but in that case it would take so much time to find a match
I love that chopper (It was the only one I could use for a while given how long it takes to snag one) but I always hated how it has this strange natural pull to one side. I never felt like I was flying in a straight line, and I think it had something to do with the design of the Cobras tail rotor. I did though learn to use this a little to my advantage when maneuvering around the battlefield by going with the pull instead of fighting against it. Also figured out that with this chopper you REALLY gotta manually work that collective, if RPM dips low you can bring it up faster by dropping your collective to match the RPMs making your climb back up much more efficient while raising your collective with your RPM rising.
this is why I love my Cobra and Huey so fun to use and always vibing with the Vietnam songs

This bring me fun memory when i play Conflict Vietnam in my PS2. I remember the level when we need to defend the base from Vietnam massive offensive supported with iirc T-34. In the last part of the level the fun time is using the smoke signal grenade to request AH-1 Cobra CAS to destroy the path. But instead doing that, i use it to destroy the tank. Everytime i see the cobra pass at very low altitude its feel so cool, i replaying that level alot.
We need more heli gameplay phly.

Ah1g is the only chopper I have and I blast fortunate son when I play it. I'm clearly not as fortunate as phly Though as I often get shot down accomplishing little to nothing even though I do this same exact shit (with me learning these helicopter tactics through his earlier helicopter videos).
The 30mm launcher is what keeps me coming back to it though. You can even see phly get so excited every time he gets to use it. Seeing the rapid fire grenades pummel the tank with the ones that miss exploding all around it spectacularly is just such a badass and very American sight to see!

I used a controller the other day for the helis wasn’t bad actually just need to bind some keys tho I think I’m missing some important keys
you normally want to sit at 95% collective when full load if you got no rockets then you can sit at 99-100% and major maneuvers you want to lower collective to maintain rpm
as soon as i fly 2 feet into the sky i am dead to aa, looooool.
I'd recommend turning on manual roll control. Helps a lot with Close quarters heli Gameplay.

This has probably been said a lot but I gotta say it lol. It seems counterintuitive but you need to reduce your collective a little so the RPMs can go up and you get more power to the blades. that's why you had so much trouble with keeping altitude
