It starts to reek already when Micro SD cards are still called Trans Flash cards on an Xbox One ripoff, so it doesn't even have the excuse of being old enough for that naming.
Also, damn I remember those types of PS1 pirated controllers, were all the rage back when I was a kid and costed 1/5 of an original (also lasted for like 1/20 of the time an original lasts, but hey, we were kids with little pocket money back then and a broken controller, ain't got no time to save for a decent one! Nor has it ever occurred to us that it would not be worth it. Also, they were TRANSPARENT!)

We didn't even get the Mad Catz here, maybe a handful of Turbo controllers, but ours were downright counterfeit stuff, total piracy. That's what was loading up our so called "camelô", aka the street vendors with all kinds of pirated/counterfeit goods. Yeah it's kinda big around here! Not to mention Sony (and later even Nintendo) didn't officially sell anything here so it just had to come in gray market style. Sometimes original stuff got imported, sometimes smuggled, sometimes the pirated ones imported/smuggled.
They were fully SONY branded and all, looked the part perfectly, but wouldn't come with an actual box even, and you could see (literally with the transparent ones, our favorites) how fake they were despite the brand. The cable's ferrite bead was an empty plastic, the vibration motors were supported by tiny plastic tabs into the case, the boards were entirely different, don't even get me stated on analog sticks, they had just a teeny tiny plastic support on the middle that would break on the 2nd week at best.
