You are what I call a proper garage, I use a Mercedes specialist on the south coast, excellent service by Mercedes trained staff, I hate going to main dealership where you talk to a woman on reception who has no idea about what I’m talking about, but please sir sit on the leather sofa have a coffee and I’ll get a mechanic 🥱😡keep up the good work, enjoy what you are doing, thanks for taking the time.👍
I only know Sam as a customer, but for quite a few years now. If anyone’s wondering, he really is the honest mechanic he appears to be. Buying / maintaining cars caused me SO much stress before I started taking my cars to SPR. Every MOT had me riddled with anxiety, because so many mechanics act like stairlift salesmen and have the shirt off your back. I’ve had SPR services and MOTs on old cars and Sam’s said *nothing* else has needed doing at all. I sound like a wuss but I can genuinely say Sam has improved my mental health at least one week a year. I’ve even asked them to do stuff I thought it needed eg top up air con, and he’s not done it if it didn’t really need it. He once rebuilt an indicator mirror at his own suggestion, instead of making me buy a £190 new one. I’ve had a couple of massive bills too of course (that car put the shite in ‘S Class’), but that’s fine if that’s what needs doing. Good things sell themselves and SPR doesn’t need any kudos from me as they had a waiting list before this TH-cam. But credit where it’s due anyway. He has virtuoso skills AND a clear conscience, so I can actually enjoy my cars instead of stressing over rip offs or breakdowns. Plus everything’s professional; you’re not dealing with some grumpy back street know it all with a page 3 girl from the Sunday Sport stuck to the wall and who never answers the ☎️ ! Shout out to Paula in charge of the admin too as one of her is more on top of it than 5 Mercedes admin staff combined. I must say he’s got a nerve asking if an A class is a real Mercedes. I remember when his courtesy car was a 2 seater SMART car! It was like driving a Dyson Hoover so if that’s a courtesy car, an A class is a Mercedes!

It is so refreshing to watch a TH-cam channel where the person actually knows what he is talking about. Most experience mechanics don't have time (or inclination) to impart their valuable knowledge and experience to a TH-cam audience. Maybe you become the Northern Car Wizard with 1m + subs....Mike.

Totally agree, super happy to hear more than once that M113 engines are the most reliable of all, great; because I have inherited my mom's 2001 CLK430 w/ just 70K miles. First thing I did was to check all available M113 maintenance videos on YT & then DIY on my own car, so far so good... That's how I found SPR channel & now I'm a fan & subscriber. Can't wait to see the next SPR video, thank you...
Great Job, cheers from Canada, Love your channel, am a Mercedes owner for the last 50 years there are no car like it, I have owned several models SL500, SD300 E190, E300 ML320 ML350 GLK500, GL320 etc etc. I have to thank my SD300 for being alive today plunged on the side of a mountain broke my spine scalped my head broken several ribs cut my art broke my stern, etc, and am alive and going today, 24 years later. today I drive an 2010 ML350. to me they are safe cars.

I'd love to see a video on the M271, e.g., whether it is sufficient to check for rattles or whether there is a time / miles limit for the timing chain. I'd also love to hear you comment on gearbox flushes and radiator flushes. I have a CLK 200 Kompressor and although it hasn't got the sexiest engine, it still is a ton of fun to drive and I would like to take good care of it, including doing preventative maintenance.
I love the fact that this channel is 'no frills' just great Mercedes content ... I find your humour and out look is a little Karl Pilkington style which I really like ... for example ... VIEWER: "What are your thoughts on off roading a ML164 ... what parts would you expect to break?" SPR: "Suppose it depends on what boulder you smack into ... dunn it?" 🤣 Keep up the great work ... 👍
You are so honest about the work you do and the reality is you want to make sure every job is done right so the kind of garage you can go to and know you will be looked after. Hard on the outside daft as a brush inside is what I think personally.

I have a clk 2.7 cdi 5 cylinder superb love , just passed 200 k kilometers. I don’t think I’ll ever sell this car has power and economy . Don’t know if I’ve seen one on your channel or I’ve missed it ! Keep vids coming 👍👍

I also create content and really appreciate your knowledge shared in the videos as it helps me when I get a MB to work on. I liked the idea shown in one of your videos to have a folder with all seals, gasket and other parts and part numbers when working on common faults. We all have our ways and can learn from eachother. Watching your channel brings me back to the shop/garage. I enjoy your content very much and can relate to a lot of your frustrations and headaches you sometimes run into, in many cases I have lived them with my technicians at some point during my carrier with MB. Cheap and CLK Black. Nice one.😄 I agree with the tech support. My AMG started consuming intercooler fluid. No steam. No visible leaks. They flew someone over to England who said” if I can’t find it we will container it back to Germany and find the problem”! I never bought another Merc after that. I will relent now and buy one, but it will only come to you even if I have to walk back to Sheffield. Nice walk via Hayfield and Castleton though.🤷🏻♂️
First thing first. When i was a lad and was an apprentice i was brought up with the same work ethic. As yourself. So impressed we have booked our car in for a service, yes we have to travel from co,Durham so what, yes we have to wait, 8 weeks, i was joiner, builder. With a 12, week lead time. Memories of my first visits when Steve was there! I don’t suppose that you will remember but when I first brought my car in Steve told someone to drive me to the station. Every time I came in after that I stood at the counter waiting for a ride to the station until someone (you?) had to tell me “We don’t actually do that!”. By the way, was that Steve stood at the counter with you? I have shrunk since those days but not that much! My best wishes to everyone.
😂😂 yea I remember having to do that for customers, we wasted so many hours doing stuff like that even though it’s helpful for the customer. We stopped many time wasting things when I took over to be much more efficient. You wasn’t the only one I’ve had to break the bad news too 🙈 Many thanks and all the best.

Cheap and CLK Black. Nice one.😄 I agree with the tech support. My AMG started consuming intercooler fluid. No steam. No visible leaks. They flew someone over to England who said” if I can’t find it we will container it back to Germany and find the problem”! I never bought another Merc after that. I will relent now and buy one, but it will only come to you even if I have to walk back to Sheffield. Nice walk via Hayfield and Castleton though.🤷🏻♂️

First thing first. When i was a lad and was an apprentice i was brought up with the same work ethic. As yourself. So impressed we have booked our car in for a service, yes we have to travel from co,Durham so what, yes we have to wait, 8 weeks, i was joiner, builder. With a 12, week lead time. Memories of my first visits when Steve was there! I don’t suppose that you will remember but when I first brought my car in Steve told someone to drive me to the station. Every time I came in after that I stood at the counter waiting for a ride to the station until someone (you?) had to tell me “We don’t actually do that!”.
By the way, was that Steve stood at the counter with you? I have shrunk since those days but not that much! My best wishes to everyone.
😂😂 yea I remember having to do that for customers, we wasted so many hours doing stuff like that even though it’s helpful for the customer. We stopped many time wasting things when I took over to be much more efficient.
