Hey y'all. Some of you may know already that I was at one point Wendy's producer before SM Entertainment signed her. What you may not have known is that she can pretty much do any song and kill it. This video has never been posted online outside of Facebook until I recently stumbled upon it on Facebook again for the first time in about three years or so. This girl is talented, make sure to show her lots of love.

Hannahjqd Ariana grande couldn't do this easily, her voice isn't powerful or soulful enough and she struggles live sometimes.

Hannahjqd Shes actually never hit a whistle note live EVER, she can do little high notes a lot yes, but she doesn't have that much power, shes best with pop/slow type of songs.
Wendy literally looks the same. Even her face expressions. Haters can shove this video down their throats saying she changed drastically with cosmetic surgery.

Windy Day I'm not sure what you mean. Part of being an idol is visual so that's not new. Or are you using a Korean saying that she worked really hard and suffered, losing lots of weight.

i did listen to their albums and in fact i have almost all of their songs on my phone and i have listened to One of These Nights and i loved it i just wish singles that RV makes comebacks with showcased vocals as well as that song did :(

I do feel like there are a lot of songs showcasing her amazing vocals. Sure it's not the same as a solo song, but then again she eceives a decent amount of exposure with SM letting her having OST, SM station songs and variety show like King of The Mask thingy.
Finally a raw footage of kpop Idol singing for real real. Watched pretty much most of the 3rd gen idols singing and i can say this that she's the one that has topped for me. Never seen idols singing awesomely in insta live or vlive except her. And i just got to know about this clip! She's really the best out there

Jay Al Coming out of America is less of a surprise as the Korean Community is huge in certain areas along with the entertainment community to train them. You have to include San Fran too (Tiffany, Krystal, Jessica) and there is so much an emphasis in California on entertainment and teaching for the industry.
BUT the fact that so many come from Toronto is a bit more surprising. Toronto isn't so much a "Hollywood" sort of place.

I was a hardcore Taeyeon fan. I thought no one can better Taeyeon until Wendy came and blew me away in another level. thanks to blackpink for introducing Redvelvet. I was stanning BP until Jennie kept mentioning irene. I googled irene, watched a live performance of Psycho when wendy’s iconic part gave ne chills, became their fan during pandemic just when Wendy came back from the accident and here I am can’t get enough of Redvelvet. RV has been my favorite group since I found out about them (I think it was during Red flavor). Wendy has always been my ultimate bias. Without her angelic voice, stable high notes and live singing, I would have never listened to Kpop in the first place. She’s one of Kpops brightest stars and I hope she’s here to stay for a very long time ❤

@@anastasia1272 Taeyeon used to be SO good but she strains a lot now, her vocal quality has gone down. Wendy is currently a better vocalist in comparison. You can watch her recent Lee Mu Jin Service where she sang several songs live while sitting down.

hallo9062 I actually don't think so. When they make their debut, they are a group. They worked together as trainees, they faced hardships together, and they do that until the end of their group. They grow close and become really good friends, they mean family and support to each other. Maybe they won't have a careless life anymore, but they choose that and with their group, they make a lot of memories. Different to things like this of course, but still memories
+ThePersonWhichWillDie BecauseOfKPop not all people match. they are usually put together with other 4/6/11 random people and they are forced to be friends. it is the hardest that they are separated from their friends and have to fake a friendship with those who they wouldn't even talk to irl. some can come over it and become friends but all the tv shows, broadcasts and mvs are made up to make it look like they are maintaing a good relationship because that will sell them as a product better. wendy here has the freedom to choose the friends she wants to be with but in the kpop industry she's forced to have a good relationship with the members of her group. these memories are not comparable to those she made with people she chose to spend with.

@@gabriela-sz5jv I don’t know about other companies, but SM entertainment, if you are extremely good looking, like Irene or Lucas that kind of visual, they will immediately recruit you, it doesn’t matter if you cannot dance or sing, they will train you. This then resulted in this situation where audience can see they are trained in later stage instead of having a natural skill. Some of their singing seems “forced”, not natural enough.
But companies are willing to take this risk, because from times to times, they will discover some gems.
Taeyong from NCT, he is gifted in rapping and dancing, before entering SM because of his visuals, he was not trained at all in those fields. Sehun as well, SM chased him down few streets just to get his number due to his looks, but who knows he will be a good dancer now.
And if you are extremely good at singing, like Chen and Baekhyun, SM will immediately add you into their soon to debut group, Chen and Baek only trained for 4 months, but their vocals are too good so SM don’t want to let go of them, so they are in EXO even though their dancing is not well trained compared to others.
If you have one talent that stood up, be singing or extremely good looking, and happen you meet the criteria of their debut group concept, you will be guaranteed to debut. But not dancing, everyone can dance if properly trained, then you need to convince SM why your dancing is that good that they must add you into the debut.
Even Kai that got into SM by having 1st place in dance competition needs to train for 5 years in order to debut.
Karina from aespa, her visual fits the concept of the group too well, natural beauty, dancing and singing are then trained, and she executed them perfectly. Hence she is able to debut although training period is not long.
Gifted vocal like Wendy definitely secure a place among SM trainees, but then again she must continually prove why she’s worth it, you never know when will the black horse come

Wendy, Seulgi and Irene were revealed as SMRookies so early for a reason. They had well-developed skills and they were ready to be presented. Chen, Baekhyun and Kyuhyun all debuted within 2-4 months of signing with SM because they were already well-developed and SM's team was ready to debut and they are top vocalists in the industry.
And yeah, @Afiq Hakimi ,it's kinda sad how often fans just claim "all idols are talented" and leave it at that instead of providing good critique because yes, most idols do have some talent but a lot of them are idols just because they are pretty or have the personality of an entertainer. It's the very reason that the stereotype about idols vs artists even exists.
Kpoppers need to understand how to critique without hating and how to accept something offering their idols constructive criticism.

Wendy still sounds amazing!! Check her out on One Summer with Yang Da Il and her recent performance with Chanyeol at SMTown in Osaka just over the past weekend and her Kcon New York 2018 performances!! She's been really stable lately and power vocals have been thrusting as well. I wish SM let her use her vibrato more and gave her more lines on a track, but I don't really have any complaints other than that about her vocals today. I think she's a stronger and more skilled singer in 2018 than in this video.

She opened her ig up A LOT later than members and stopped posting since the accident and only recently started again but with advertisement and promotional posts only. It’s actually got a lot of followers if you consider the content she’s having on her page and how it seems to be a “business” account
