  • In this video, I show you one way of adding beads to your crochet shawl.
This method is suitable for when you're working with types of yarn that won't allow your beads to slide easily without getting caught or fraying your yarn. As in this example when I'm working with a 4-thread cotton/acrylic yarn including a tiny glitter thread that can break if you're not careful.
Cotton yarns are difficult to block for a crisp look the same way as wool yarns and can sometimes end up looking a bit boring without that defined edging. Adding beads to your project can bring back that crisp look that really makes your shawl stand out.
In this video I show you how to make a crochet bracelet with beads (full pattern tutorial) with a different method:

Thank you so much. I made a rectangular wrap in the Virus pattern and in a burnished gold yarn. Want to attach topaz beads to edging and you provided an easily understood method. Thank you SO much!

navy choudhury thank you so much 💕🌸 The yarn is called Lammy Magic Colors. You can get them with or without glitter. There are a lot of similar yarns out there now. Long gradient 50/50 acrylic/cotton. If you can’t find one with glitter you can carry a thin glitter thread as you go. It will add the same effect. The pattern is called the Phoenix New Beginnings. I don’t have a video, but it’s available in my Ravelry and Etsy shop as a written pattern, fully charted too. Hope this helps - thank you for asking ❤️
