    Ive had the usa lineman pliers for a few weeks now. Very impressive. Still waiting for the diagonals to show up. The machining is perfect and they are butter smooth. Havent been able to beat on the cutting edge much yet. I will be disappointed if they are not on par with Klein, Knipex or NWS.

    Tim I love your reviews, but I do have to ask - was this sent by Milwaukee or did you buy these retail? Could you please test them once you buy them retail? There are cases when manufacturers will send you good polished samples while retail samples are not as good. I am not saying Milwaukee does that but retail samples are best representation of what the consumers will get.

    Are the slotted screwdriver's tips standard taper or (hopefully) hollow ground? The hollow ground blade design is superior as the screw's slots do not have a taper and anybody that has turned a standard taper tipped screwdriver in a slotted screw knows all too well that the blade cams up and out of the screw which prompts even the most religious among us to weave a tapestry of expletives that would make the lord of darkness himself blush with envy.
    Looking forward to the video on the new snap ring pliers set, Tim. Thanks for doing what you do. Cheers!

    I guess the patent for the lasertip etching on the screwdriver expired for Wera. Cool to see other companies using that technique.

    • @jacksautorepair
      @jacksautorepair 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Snap-on tips or bits had the etching on the Phillips tip for a few decades.
      Question is being a mechanic, can you use the flat tips for a pry bar like the Snap-on. I don’t use many flat tip screws on cars. Only on worm screw clamps when I don’t want to walk over and grab a cordless ratchet and a socket.
      I have the older version of the Milwaukee screwdrivers with magnetic tips. The handle is sort of slick. Works around the house if you can’t find a real professional screwdriver.

    Are the new hand tools forged like they used to be or CPM Compressed Powdered Metal? I got my answer...Compressed forged steel, aka CPM. I have broken that type of (SnapOn) tool in my hand so I will pass on these. I like the screwdriver tips but that's it. I'm glad they're making them in the US and you did a good job promoting them.

    • @aaronorr5586
      @aaronorr5586 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Compressed forged steel is =/= to compressed powder metal. Compressed forged steel is basically a plate heated to cherry red and is then subjected to 50,000-100,000 psi of force to cut out the rough components. Those components then go through finish machining and are then heat treated to a certain temperature.
      Compressed powder metal is process of welding the metal powder through uses of flux in the powder mix in a mould. It is then heated till it becomes cherry red and the flux welds the grains together into a rough shape that gets machined and heat treated.

Milwaukee Tool, founded in 1924, is a global leader in delivering innovative solutions to the professional construction trades, offering increased productivity and unmatched durability. Milwaukee Tool has had a presence in the US since its founding in 1924, and has invested significantly over the last decade to further increase its US footprint in manufacturing, R&D, office and distribution space.
      Milwaukee has designed, engineered, and manufactured products in the United States since 1924 and is dedicated to driving growth and creating jobs in the United States. Milwaukee Tool has experienced rapid growth across the globe, with sales growing more than 20% each year. Amid this growth, they’re aggressively investing in product development, and diversifying their manufacturing base through expansion projects in the United States.

      Currently, the company has manufacturing, distribution, and operations presences around the nation in Greenwood, Grenada, Olive Branch, and Jackson, MS, as well as in Brookfield, Menomonee Falls, Mukwonago, and Sun Prairie, WI, and Greenwood, IN.

      @DocteurLivesey You can't be that simple. Do you really think China Milwaukee is making hand tools in the USA 🇺🇸 which would cost them a fortune when they use slave labor, which cost them a bowl of rice and 10 cents? You can't be that stupid, the only tools that Milwaukee makes in the USA are from companies they bought and are being made in the USA once that companies lease is up they will be made in China 🇨🇳 and they're owned by Chinese company not portfolio
