I'm using the newest version of PS. I tried restore default patterns and all it did was add the water, trees & grass to my list a second time.
Photoshop 2020 changed a few things, to get your patterns go to Window>>Patterns this will bring up the Pattern panel, in this panel click on the three lines (hamburger menu) on the far right and choose "Legacy patterns and More" all of the old patterns are there.
You have them their just in a different place now. Go to Window>>Patterns to bring up the pattern panel, in the patterns panel click on the three lines in the right top corner and choose “Legacy Patterns & More” to load them.
In Photoshop 2020 or later you will go to Window>>patterns and load textures from there in the menu at the top right of this window choose Legacy patterns and more. This will load the old textures for you.

I really like this tutorial! I've looked at and done many different tutorials, to get different types of glitter, so this is another one I can add, so thank you! I do have a question for you though... Unfortunately, I don't have the full version of Photoshop, I just have the Elements version, so some of the things mentioned in the video, I'm not able to do, but I don't think it has changed from the overall look. Also, I'm more comfortable using PaintShop Pro, but I can't get this kind of glitter using that. Anyway, what I am wanting to do though is add more sparkle, using flares. What is the best way to get those on here? I'm assuming using another layer to add the sparkles/flares, but do I change the blending modes, etc? Lastly, would it be possible to contact you another way, with a screenshot of a different kind of glitter, to see if you know how to get this particular glitter effect? Should I contact you through your website? Thanks for any help you can provide!
Hi Colleen, I add sparkles in two ways. For big individual sparkles, I use the polygon shape tool, set to six sides, check off "star" set the radius to 95 pixels and indent 95% from here you can work with blending modes or opacity depending on the background color. For all-over shine I use a brush from Legacy brushes called "starburst small" in brush settings I give the stars some spacing and scatter. I will probably make a video for this, what seemed easy in my head looks like a lot when it's all written out so I hope this is not confusing. For your second question, you can contact me on my website prettywebz.com or via my Gmail account prettywebz@gmail.com, either way is fine.
@@PrettyWebzMedia Thank you so much for the quick reply! No, it doesn't sound confusing, but I love tutorials, so if you do end up making one, I will definitely watch and do it. Oh btw, I love your tutorial on the glitter/shimmery tiles, which uses this glitter as a base. I really love the effect it makes.
Hi ! Thanks for the perfect tutorial ! I just have a question , i followed the instructions perfectly but when i save my glitter its turning out with 1000x1000 pixel and 10 cm , id like them to be 3000x3000 pixel but its coming out with a really tiny glitter or it loses alot of the quality , i saw that the free glitter pattern you offerd in your website is 3000x3000px and its beautiful the way id liked mine to be , is there a something i could to to fiz this ? thankyou so much !
Hi there Lorraine, Thank you so much, I'm glad you found the tutorial helpful! As for the saving problem, from the main (top) menu click>>>File>>> Export>>> Export As - When the new window pops up to the right of the preview window verify your image size is 3000x3000 AND your canvas size is 3000x3000 The image size cannot be bigger than the canvas. You can manually type this in if it’s not the right size. Also, to the left of the preview window at the top, make sure the size is set to 1x anything less will reduce the size of your image as well.
I got lost after saving the pattern as Gold glitter. Did you create new in order to do text because when I click text tool, my gold glitter is still there. I do not have the transparent background. Could you walk me through the steps please? Great video by the way!
It is a little confusing, my apologies for that. This was my attempt to make the video as short as possible, lesson learned. I saved the glitter as a pattern inside of Photoshop, then I grouped all the glitter layers and turned them off. I added the text to a new transparent layer. Saving the glitter as a pattern makes it easier to adjust the scale, add color overlays, etc. I hope this helps, please let me know if you need further clarification. Thank you so much for watching!
@@PrettyWebzMedia Thank you for your quick response! I saved the glitter as a pattern but I am not understanding how to group the glitter layers and turn them off. I am sorry. I am new to photo shop.
@@MooresandMore The text will be on its own transparent layer. I always add a layer out of habit but you don't have to. Click on the letter "T" on the left side panel and click anywhere on the canvas to start typing. Photoshop will automatically add the text as a new layer.
@@MooresandMore No problem, I'm here to help! To group the layers select the first layer, hold "shift" on the keyboard and click the last layer. At this point, all the glitter layers should be highlighted. On your keyboard press command+g (mac) Ctrl+g (PC) Photoshop will put all of the highlighted layers in a group. There is a small eye icon to the left of every layer or group in the layers panel. Click on the eye to toggle layers off and on.
Autumn Thornton You can save the pattern to use outside of Photoshop you just go to then and then then all you have to do is choose your file format (jpg, png,) and save it to your computer.

I have photoshop 2020 and I only have the trees, grass & water pattern
You have to load the patterns. Go to Window>>patterns>>click on the hamburger icon (3 lines) and select Legacy Patterns & More
I got lost after saving the pattern as Gold glitter.
I am sorry, I figured it out but now I am wondering how to add text to new transparent layer? will it still be on the layers already created?
How can I make it a swatch sample so I can make it any is I want
Autumn Thornton You can save the pattern to use outside of Photoshop you just go to then and then then all you have to do is choose your file format (jpg, png,) and save it to your computer.
Hi there Great Video, Thank you! I follow the tutorial and I cannot pass through 4:05 min for some reason I cannot change the base color to gold. I would appreciate if anyone can help. I am using photo shop 2020. Thank you so much
Make sure you are on the "Base color" layer

where is texture fill 2?
This is part of default patterns, if you’re working with a later version (2020+) you may have to load them in. Just go to Window>>patterns>>from the patterns panel menu icon (top right) select Legacy patterns and more
One word: amazing! I will try it tomorrow. Can you teach me how to save as a glitter style instead a pattern? Thank you very much. I am learning a lot with your videos. :)
Thank you, I’ll add a styles tutorial to my list 😊
love this, thank you. If you have a lot of views on your video today it is me. 😂 i am getting orange, no glitter but determined. i am new to photoshop
Keep at it, it’s frustrating and slow in the beginning but soon you won’t even have to think about it 👏🏻
Beautiful result!!! Great tutorial but you should slow down. It's hard to follow you. Thank you tho!!!!
Thanks, I want to keep the videos as concise as possible but I’ll keep that in mind.
Those patterns don’t exist in photoshop anymore.
