I’m an ICU nurse and it’s really exhausting and mentally draining seeing people hanging by the thread and fighting for their lives.. giving updates to families on their loved ones who are critically ill and hear their emotions of fear and anxiety ... I for one recovered from Covid 19 after exposure from taking care of patients from 2 different hospitals...

I was a ventilated patient back in august to September of 2021 .... I almost died. I wanted so much to go back and thank all the people who saved my life but the hospital was so over run with covid patients. I can’t tell you how relieving and amazing it was to see my family again when I thought I was going to die. Yeah I know when my son got diagnosed with Leukemia and over 3 years of chemo I had to emotionally detach to be able to deal. Then afterwards, when it hit me, it was overwhelming. Just to clarify in case it sounded otherwise, my son did survive. 🙏. I was just trying to make the point of needing to shut down emotionally to be able to deal with a traumatic situation. When it feels "safe enough" to feel those emotions it can be a bit much. I pray that all those affected by witnessing the suffering n pain have the support they need. ✌️

I am not a doctor but I do work in a hospital. Where I work has not been impacted much...yet, but all of the hospitals in this area has discharged as many patients as possible to keep people safe and if it does hit hard here there will be rooms available. These hospitals are losing so much money even administration roles are voluntarily taking 30% away of their pay to help the other employees that do not make much more than minimum wage. This pandemic has really brought the human race together in helping and caring for people.

I get anxiety seeing staff walking all over the unit, seating in the nursing station wearing their PPEs., not to mention seeing them not properly wearing and removing them....did you see that anesthesiologist still wearing his gloves while using the phone? I am with infection control team, with a highly contagious infection going on, healthcare workers should all be very extra careful....when everyone wears PPEs like that outside of a patient's room how can you tell who is wearing one that is contaminated or not? I know it takes time to put and remove one on but you've got to do that to protect yourself and the rest of the team. Even in this pandemic nursing units MUST still maintain what you consider a "CLEAN" area and that includes the nursing unit. To those who go out protesting and shouting " My right! My right! My right!" I hope they realize that these healthcare staff also have a right, a right to be protected from harm, but are instead risking their lives so we all go back on track sooner than later.
They really are since this is actually a germ weapon unleashed on the planet by persons with a very sinister population reduction agenda. Soldiers, tanks, fighter jets and bombs cannot combat this enemy. What apparently is not well understood however, is that our now medical soldiers are to arm their patients with the knowledge of raw food veganism which practice will be a weapon of mass destruction to germs in general whether they be man engineered or naturally immerging.
People don’t seem to understand how difficult life is for the medical professionals dealing with this deadly virus every day! They are overwhelmed with more pts than they’re used to caring for and in our healthcare system it was always more than we could handle but now it’s just insane. There’s also the struggle of trying to treat these extremely ill pts with limited staff, supplies and not a lot of treatment options. And the fear that they themselves might become infected or infect their loved ones. To top it all off they are doing this while wearing a mask, maybe a secondary mask, hair cover, face shield, gown and gloves. It’s terribly hot and hard to breath. Your glasses fog up, you sweat but cannot wipe your face, your nose itches but you can’t scratch it. It’s not comfortable at all! By the end of the shift you’re utterly exhausted but then have to strip down, shower and disinfect before you can even sit down and relax. And it’s never relaxing when you’ve had a day like this where you’ve lost patients or have patients that you know might not be there tomorrow. The stress is crazy on a normal day. People please stay home as much as possible in an attempt to keep things contained! If we don’t do our part, these heroic doctors and nurses will suffer so much more than they already are! Let’s not overwhelm the system to the point where we don’t have enough hospital beds or ventilators or doctors and nurses to operate them and save us!

This almost inspires me to study to become a doctor, but I know already that such a job isn’t for me. The pressure and education is something I won’t be able to handle
Thank you to the doctors, nurses and support staff doing this. The horror (on top of this nightmare) is support staff like cleaners are provided even less PPE and safety training, are paid MUCH less, yet put their lives at risk every day. Imagine being in that hospital only making around $14 an hour with our proper PPE. They deserve better. We need living heroes, not dead martyrs.

Foreal.....my whole family was infected by covid and non of them had to be hospitalized....I had to take care of all of them. Within 2 weeks they were perfectly fine.

J3RK ...so you are suggesting this is a hoax?? My best friend DIED from COVID last Friday! He was 48yrs old, healthy and took not a single medication. He was fit and never smoked. He got sick on 3/16, went into the hospital on 4/1...was put on a vent the same night and died on 4/24. Tell his family and friends this is not really happening.

I was a ventilated patient back in august to September of 2021 .... I almost died.
I wanted so much to go back and thank all the people who saved my life but the hospital was so over run with covid patients.
I can’t tell you how relieving and amazing it was to see my family again when I thought I was going to die.
Thank you so much nurses, doctors, and healthcare workers for everything y’all do everyday ! When I think of a hero, a nurse in heavy scrubs and face masks is what I see ♥️

Yeah I know when my son got diagnosed with Leukemia and over 3 years of chemo I had to emotionally detach to be able to deal. Then afterwards, when it hit me, it was overwhelming. I will never be who I was. I imagine that is going to be a huge issue when this is all said and done. Much love n prayers to everyone. ✌️

Just to clarify in case it sounded otherwise, my son did survive. 🙏. I was just trying to make the point of needing to shut down emotionally to be able to deal with a traumatic situation. When it feels "safe enough" to feel those emotions it can be a bit much. I pray that all those affected by witnessing the suffering n pain have the support they need. ✌️

I am not a doctor but I do work in a hospital. Where I work has not been impacted much...yet, but all of the hospitals in this area has discharged as many patients as possible to keep people safe and if it does hit hard here there will be rooms available. These hospitals are losing so much money even administration roles are voluntarily taking 30% away of their pay to help the other employees that do not make much more than minimum wage. This pandemic has really brought the human race together in helping and caring for people.

I get anxiety seeing staff walking all over the unit, seating in the nursing station wearing their PPEs., not to mention seeing them not properly wearing and removing them....did you see that anesthesiologist still wearing his gloves while using the phone? I am with infection control team, with a highly contagious infection going on, healthcare workers should all be very extra careful....when everyone wears PPEs like that outside of a patient's room how can you tell who is wearing one that is contaminated or not?
I know it takes time to put and remove one on but you've got to do that to protect yourself and the rest of the team. Even in this pandemic nursing units MUST still maintain what you consider a "CLEAN" area and that includes the nursing unit.
To those who go out protesting and shouting " My right! My right! My right!" I hope they realize that these healthcare staff also have a right, a right to be protected from harm, but are instead risking their lives so we all go back on track sooner than later.

People don’t seem to understand how difficult life is for the medical professionals dealing with this deadly virus every day! They are overwhelmed with more pts than they’re used to caring for and in our healthcare system it was always more than we could handle but now it’s just insane. There’s also the struggle of trying to treat these extremely ill pts with limited staff, supplies and not a lot of treatment options. And the fear that they themselves might become infected or infect their loved ones. To top it all off they are doing this while wearing a mask, maybe a secondary mask, hair cover, face shield, gown and gloves. It’s terribly hot and hard to breath. Your glasses fog up, you sweat but cannot wipe your face, your nose itches but you can’t scratch it. It’s not comfortable at all! By the end of the shift you’re utterly exhausted but then have to strip down, shower and disinfect before you can even sit down and relax. And it’s never relaxing when you’ve had a day like this where you’ve lost patients or have patients that you know might not be there tomorrow. The stress is crazy on a normal day. People please stay home as much as possible in an attempt to keep things contained! If we don’t do our part, these heroic doctors and nurses will suffer so much more than they already are! Let’s not overwhelm the system to the point where we don’t have enough hospital beds or ventilators or doctors and nurses to operate them and save us!

Bringing in news crews to film the pandemic but not allowing family members to be with their loved ones when they’re dying? Something seems wrong about this. I am a registered nurse in the NYC area and I understand the importance of informing the public about what’s going on but how are we giving access like this to camera crews but not some family members?? Very sad situation regardless.

The horror (on top of this nightmare) is support staff like cleaners are provided even less PPE and safety training, are paid MUCH less, yet put their lives at risk every day. Imagine being in that hospital only making around $14 an hour with our proper PPE. They deserve better.
