Indy 500 Final laps Sato Crash

- Closing laps of the 2012 Indianapolis 500 featuring Takumo Sato crashing on the final lap in turn 1. Many of the fans booed when Sato tried to pass Dario in turn 1. It was presumed to be Dario's fault taking Sato out, but after review from other camera angles it was found that only Sato was to blame for his wreck as he had lost control going into the corner. I tried 3 times to upload this video along side of the others from the same race. I'm not sure what the problem is/was, but hopefully it is working this time of uploading it.

Was a GREAT race. I like Franchitti, and am a huge Dixon fan ... but was pulling for Sato big time. Doubt he'll ever see such an opportunity again - but can't blame him for attempting the pass. Just one a them racin' thangs.
News Update : He just won the 2017 Indy 500, buddy! YEAH!!!!!

@mojorider8067...Aged just fine, considering he said he "doubted" Sato would get another opportunity, not that he "wouldn't".
I remember seeing this on tv. Cool finish.
My favorite TH-cam video of an Indy 500 moment was the Japanese broadcast of the finish of this race. It was taken down a couple of years ago - but was AWESOME. I hope it finds its way back online some day.
I’m surprised of the mixed reactions of the crowd. I always thought Dario was a fan favourite.

Sato had made that same pass on Franchitti in the same spot and made it stick just a little earlier in the race. Couldn't hang on when it counted most, though.
