I want to chime in, as a parent I LOVE the ikea acrylic paint, it is so easy to wash off of surfaces and adheres really well to paper. No cracking like tempera paint when there are too many layers or puddles. It also does not smell like soap! Crayola also makes washable poster paints, which are also very nice but they are super fragrant, I don't think it's intentional but makes me wonder if there really is soap in the paint. I was shocked about the price though, I don't know when we got ours but it was around $6, $1 per bottle.
Thank you, I was going to comment just that. If someone is looking for high quality art supplies I'd wonder why they go to the toddler section at IKEA. All IKEA art supplies are made for very young children who still put all the things in their mouth and therefore the stuff has to be non-toxic and washable etc. Also, I'm surprised that it's so expensive in the USA, here in Europe (Germany) they sell for only 3.99€ for the pencils which is a really cheap price
honestly, mcdonalds making their own art supplies makes sense. could have sold them as toys in a happy meal. not in such capacity but like one or two colours per package or smaller quantities or something
A set of mini markers is another way they could have (or still could) put it into a Happy Meal toy. They could even do other small art/stationery type of sets to have a variety, such as mini stationery sheets or cards and envelopes, stamps, colored pencils, etc.

I've seen some smaller art companies go with all black or natural brown cardboard packaging and stencil print that I'm really drawn to just for the relief from all the bright colours, and the younger folk call me a boring Millenial for that reason. Glad to see someone else recognizes that bold packaging is a company advertising method and not some sort of artistic statement. Some people really think that buying the leading company brand because it's colourful means more than buying it because it's recognizable.
boycott starbucks ❤
