I stumbled across one of your videos awhile back. I am not in the "Ostomy Club", but I watched a couple of your subsequent videos as well. I have to say, you are a marvel. Your attitude, courage, and willingness to share your experiences openly are remarkable. You are a testament to a human being's will to persevere and thrive. Well done young lady!
I like how you are really positive. I'm the same when people ask about my median sternumotomy scar. I work/volunteer in the medical field so most the time they already know. You are an awesome lady!
I am very open about my ostomy. I had my surgery in July of 2012 and this past summer I went to the beach and laid out in a pair of shorts. Yes I kept my bag tucked in them but you could see the top of the bag from waist up. I am proud of my ostomy and my saying is I gained my life when they took my colon. People just tend to smile when I say that. I've been complemented on my positive out look and attitude about it. I wish you the best and keep up the great work with the vids.
The cord was from a drain. It's unrelated to my ostomy bag, but it was from a separate post surgical problem. It is not permanent. Very true. It does take a lot of courage, but it also can be so insightful and helpful for others!
In a previous video i saw a cord coming from your back area? Is that something to do with your bag? I myself have hypoglycemia and find you to have a lot of courage to talk about your life.

I love the "Hey I got this great thing that allowed me to live". It's a great way to think of your situation. You're a gem Laura!
