Let's face it, he was at such stratospheric heights back then in the mid 80's.
Just two years after Thriller LP, 1984 Say Say Say and his chorus featuring in awesome Rockwell's Somebody's Watching Me.
It's even more relevant to me in this one (Rockwell) actually. He just adds that supreme layer on a great tune.
Exactly, even in the 3T song "I need you", the song comes alive at the end because of him.

This track should've charted much higher like a Top 3.
However, during that time MJ was already making a reinvention of himself and people were mostly focused on him and his new materials as a solo artist rather than being just one of the family.

everytime michael starts his verse in this song i get goosebumps, all the jackson were so talented but wow i always loved Michael's voice the most, i am glad to have seen a concert live of him.
One of the best verses of Jermaine's career was the first verse of this song. So soulful and so passionate he was with his vocals on that verse 😎.

@@joegonzalez4468 nope, Jermain had a great voice and he definitely was underrated but come on....Michael just had it, the voice, the stage presence, the moves.....he had it all and the Jacksons wouldn't have been recognised without Michael. Jermain was the lead before Michael joined because Joe realised Michael's talent and put him as lead instead. It was after that people knew who the Jackson 5 was, it was no Jackson 5 without Michael. They would be lost without him, the brothers needed money and that's why Michael did the victory tour with them....to help them out and from that he donated his earnings to charity.
