    Hi after seeing this vid I decided to DIY my invites however, my foil wont transfer. I think it might be my card stock. Is there a specific card stock you suggest?

    • @jessblessed777

      make sure the shiny part of the foil is faced the opposite way, so not touching the text. It also needs to be printed from a Laser printer to work.

    Amazing Tutorial!
    I was a bit confused - how does the gold foil stick to the text?

    • @EternalStationeryMelbourne
      @EternalStationeryMelbourne  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      +Muslimah4ever1000 The foil reacts to the toner so when heat is applied the foil sticks.

    If you have a background printed will the foil stick to it as well? Will it only stick to black only?

    • @EternalStationeryMelbourne
      @EternalStationeryMelbourne  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Foil is made to stick to 100% k black laser toner so if your background image has any 100% k black values making up the image, the foil will stick to it. This is tricky because some colours are made up using black (like purple for instance). You would need to go through each colour and remove the black.

    I have a colored floral border and a black border together - can I only foil the black without it foiling the colored floral? (laser printed)

    • @MissDaisyO
      @MissDaisyO 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      To be clearer - they overlap

    • @EternalStationeryMelbourne
      @EternalStationeryMelbourne  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It depends on the printer (how it outputs colour and if it leaves toner residue that foil will stick to) and also the artwork colour properties. In order for foil to only stick to the black toner the coloured artwork will need to have all black removed. Laser printers print CMYK colour (Cyan, magenta, yellow and K (black)). You would need to go into the properties of all the colours and make sure ‘k’ (black) is 0.

    how does the foil just stics to the letters and not the surrounding area?

    • @EternalStationeryMelbourne
      @EternalStationeryMelbourne  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      The foil sticks only to black laser toner that is heated through a heat applicator like the Minc.

    Does it work when your print it on ink jet Printer? Coz i have lots of foil. And i want to use it but i only have ink jet. Not laser jet printer. Thanks

    • @EternalStationeryMelbourne
      @EternalStationeryMelbourne  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Heat reactive transfer foil only sticks to 100% black toner from a laser printer. Unfortunately a ink jet printer would not work.
