Aw. So cute. I used to have this breed of dog in my younger days. The American Eskimo spitz dog. They are beautiful, intelligent, loving, loyal. We had adopted ours at our local humane society. We had ours for 7 years.
I've owned mutts to full breeds. Minis to German Shepherds. Currently I own a rottweiler (have had 5 in the past) and a mini Eskie. By far, the Eskie is as smart as the rott but for different reasons I have both. The rott will protect the home and family the Eskie would not. But speed, agility, quiet, cheery companionship, hands down my little buddy. Actually, both the Eskie and Rott are fairly quiet but the rott is aloof and the Eskie is friendly to a point. They both are totally loyal but only one of them has the foot of my bed and it ain't the rott. For true compliance and happy companionship, the Eskie is second to none! Nice video! Thanks for sharing this!
They're actually descent Ed from the German Spitz, yes of which the pomeranian is a part of, but they're just one size. The Eskie was bred from the keeshond, the second largest of the German Spitz.
to be COMPLETELY honest i did do and/or PROBABLY will SOMEWHAT like the large and medium sized versions of the american eskimo dogs along with cats and i did do and/or PROBABLY will really LOVE the small version of the american eskimo dogs
I would say adopt, but these are a beautiful, uncommon breed so you're far less likely to find one in a shelter. If there is one, they're usually snatched up pretty quickly. A responsible, reputable breeder may be your best bet. Also keep in mind this is a 12-15 year commitment. Think long and hard. It's not just about keeping it alive, it's about giving them a good, full, and happy life.
I'm 25 and know i should be better than this but when he said "dogs and bitches" i lost it.
Also if you're here considering getting an eskie.... do it. Iv'e had my buddy "Boaty" for 3 years now and he is the best dog ever. And soooooo smart.

For a minute here I thought I was being bated into watching one of those tapes like in horror movies that come to get you after you watch…. 😂
It's so weird to hear someone use the word "bitch" in its proper context!
My Merlin was a wonderful loving companion for 16 years. I loved him so much.
I named my eskie Merlin too! She's 3 years old right now.

I was hoping to find a breeder in the UK and I am having difficulties finding one. Does anyone have an idea how to find a breeder in the UK?
@@patriciawallace2343 Many thanks :)
@@elena273 The AKC don't recognise the JS breed, but JS are all around the world. Wonderful dogs. Good luck.
