      Most people rave about the k line of ME Geithain. I would need to buy a Basis 11k to get the cardioid response. For a full frequency response all of those monitors need a sub.

      @NickAnanas yea i have Seen that the k Line has the cardiod Response in the Bass frequency. But i also Heard in youre example that the RL Line has a Natural Sound Signature. That is what raised my Attention For that Speakers
      How was it to Mix on thoose Rl906 ?
      Was it fun

    • @NickAnanas
      @NickAnanas  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@TiferetSolarisGevurah Yes, I love the Geithain, usually they reveal many mistakes fast. I have a hard time for sub with all of them, but for high frequencies I always get the right info from the RL906. For example, some people record and mix with 600 Sennheiser, they are really nice sounding, but the transients are not true; they let somehow unwanted transients sound nice. On the Geithain, you hear it right away. I like the NS10 in the same way; if there are any peaks in the highs or mid-highs it tells you, you don't need to search hahaha. I like the Amphion for the price, but I would not change my Geithain for Amphion. I see the Amphion One15 as a tool just like the Auratone or the NS10. The Geithain monitors give you a real speaker feel while being a tool. In the future I would rather buy bigger Geithain or maybe some new monitors like Kii or Dutch & Dutch to get more bass information.

      I did Not Had that Impression on the Geithain , the sounded round and Natural still With alot of Detail and Separation. I guess capturing the full Picture of that Point source speaker With Microphone also is a Challenge. Then of course TH-cam Format Changes also the Detail.
      Still , got a good Impression of thoose Lil Geithain, guess i will Drive there an listen in there Showroom to all Models to fully Understand there Potential as a mixing Tool and listening speaker

    Why does the midrange sound relatively muffled on the Geithain? Is it the mic? Or does it produce more bass than the other 2 that makes its midrange sound muffled with this video

    • @NickAnanas
      @NickAnanas  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's a Geithain feature. They somehow extend very low without troubling the other frequencies. It gives the right picture of your bass and mid bass. So the part that sound muffled is the sub. In no way it is muffled, the ns10 is this regard is over projecting and changing the balance. How does the original song sound on your speakers ?

    The NS-10s sound so much brighter than the others. Did it sound the same to you in your space? Which speakers would you say had the best translation of the mix?

      Also, was the same amp used on all the speakers?

    • @NickAnanas
      @NickAnanas  3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      @@johnnyashtray The ns10 are the less bright of the bunch, the woofer is more efficient than the tweeter. So I believe in this test the NS10 sound a bit louder. All speakers have the feel of my room, yes. The differences are greater in real life, since you can move around. The mix was done with the Geithain, mastered on PMC. Translation is about your earring most of the time. The Amphion seem a great tool, but don't have the real speaker feel, it is way too dry; it turns out very precise for eq and reverb, but hard for the feel. The amp Anaview class D was used for the passives NS10 and Oone15, Geithain own amp class AB

      You need the wires and cables with it. There is another way if you don't want to diy the amp. Amphion was using the amp in the mono box and the small stereo box. The Amphion AMP100 & amp500 use Anaview AMS0100 & AMS1000 modules respectively. I would say the best way is to diy the module.

      @@Keonupark First you can get the manual at www.lautsprecher-shop.de/pdf/anaview/anaview_ams0100_2300.pdf Then you need 5 connectors that were sold with the amp, 2 are from the amp to the speaker (JST VHR-2N), 2 from the DAC to the amp (JST 17CZ-6H) and 1 was for the AC (JST VHR-3N). Adding to this you need 2 XLR female chassis type like Neutrik NC3FD-L-B-1 and 2 pair of speaker terminals. You can salvage an old amp that is not good to put the amp and make holes for the connectors on it. So you can use the original ON-OFF switch, AC connector etc...

      Those mikes stock hype the high end, but that would be consistent across all monitors, the Y, you hear the irritating high end, mid push and lower bass, the G, treble sounds natural, bass sounds pushed and over done, the A sound most natural and balance . Seems to me if you can get you mix happening on the A, they might be best?

      Thank you. I mixed it on Geithain and Beyer DT48, then the song was mastered on PMC. Each of these monitors is a world on its own. The NS10 has the most fun factor but again feels so cheap in the highs. It was the first time for me to hear the Ampion and I can say they don't diffuse much it's like a beam of directivity useful as a tool. Geithain is so well balanced and you have a useful zoom in the mids, just want a sub! I need to do a proper review of the monitors.

      Geithain are not getting noticed much because they don't have a North American distributor. I never enjoy music as mush as with 12", 15" or 18" speakers system. Maybe his track sounds chemical and with the amphions you are hearing it. It can be confusing demoing monitors because good ones will make the recordings sound worse. So at first, there is a feeling the monitor is bad. A sweet sounding monitor is usually masking transparency and giving a false sense of the recording. Critical to select a monitor which makes most tracks sound worse and worse, and a few good ones sounding better and better, then youre on the right track. There is no such thing as a monitor which makes everything "level up", there is only progress toward transparency.
