I know everyone's favorite is either a Tele or Les Paul. But i truly think that Jazzmaster is on a different level and only few can truly love this guitar. Proud to have fallen in love with this Jazzmaster😍
The tremolo and the pickup design are superior to other Fenders IMHO not to mention it has nice soft curves and is ergonomic compared to Teles which are just uncomfortable. Leos best design!
i guess Im asking randomly but does anybody know a way to log back into an Instagram account?? I was dumb lost the account password. I appreciate any assistance you can offer me.
No one is gonna mention that sexy pick-tuck at 7:03 where he switches to fingerpicking? Warren Haynes would be proud and I've never seen Nels Cline pull it off as nicely. Well done!
You can never fully appreciate the JM until you have actually played one. Totally different from a Stat or Tele they have a beautiful purity of tone but can also do the rough stuff. Great demo Cooper.
Thank you for demoing the Jazzmaster the way you did at 1:48. I had not yet found videos showcasing a subtle playing, featuring the neck pickup clean. I think this is a very underrated sound of the Jazzmaster, too many videos focus on fuzz action with the bridge pickup.
Wow this review sold me from going after a Telecaster to going after a Jazzmaster for my main electric guitar. Talk about versatility. The rhythm switch transition in that last demo was perfect.
I've been a Telecaster Player for over 30 years, but I love the Jazzmaster on the Ventures Albums. I bought my Jazzmaster in 2008, I rarely use my Strat after buying the Jazzy. I always take 2 guitars to gigs Jazzmaster and Telecaster
This is a great demo. I had a 66 Jazzmaster for 20 years and, apart from being quite hard to play, it was a great rock guitar. Even the 'rhythm' circuit sounds great at volume. This latest version seems to address many of the issues of the older ones.
Beyond any doubt the best explanation of the rhythm circuit that I’ve ever heard. Thank you very much. Obviously a very talented instructor as well as musician.
You guys are superb at showcasing guitars. It takes real discipline to play with verve while making the guitar the star. I like the Fender Jazzmaster. Ironically, it has a warmth that reminds me of one of the things I love about my Gibson J-50.
Like others have said, finally a good showing of the tone of a jazzmaster by a true player. Only video I've found where I understand what a JM sounds like. Thank you sir
I bought a hot rodded Classic vibe with some Antiquity 2’s in it. I used to be confused about the rhythm circuit but honestly it’s my favorite tone now. Feels like summer to me.
I'm all about American level Fender. There are good guitars from other countries under the Fender banner, but America comes off the wall kicking ass and taking names. Fender American Performer Mustang is my latest, and that thing has a working trem now. Shocker, I know, and it means there now IS an American made Mustang bridge you eventually will be able to buy that will fix Jaguar and Jazzmaster radius and bridge replacement issues.
@@caiusmadison2996 i have a mexican made 60s lacquer series that is incredibly well-built. plays very well. (improved only by a mustang bridge.) the neck is super comfortable, frets all smooth too.
i've been trying to find all the videos i can of Cooper playing. i have been doing things to guitar for 30 years (i won't call it "playing" lol) and Cooper is an EXCEPTIONAL guitar player. one of the best i've ever heard, no b*llshit. he is a sheer pleasure to listen to. it's like my ears have fallen head over heels in love.
Unfortunately and regrettably, I have no Fender guitars at this time, but this is a beauty. If I was in the market, this would be my choice, hands down. Excellent and tasty playing as well.
JM's & Jaguars are the ultimate fenders because of the the instant preset sound switching made possible by the rhythm circuit. Most versatile guitar for playing live.
My favorite YT guitarist with 2 last names.. Nice video. As a stray guy I have always been intrigued by this model. Seems highly versatile like everything Leo put to blueprint.. Love that color.
I have a Squier Jazz Master and love the sound. I play mostly country and the tone is right on. If it works for Chris Stapelton and Ashley McBryde. It works for Me. Keep the Great work.
Dan Hamilton was an outstanding guitarist from Los Angeles, playing soft rock and various other genres in the 60s, 70s, 80s, and 90s. He consistently used his 60s Fender Jazzmaster, creating a fantastic sound with impressive skill.
I have an all original 1974 JM, If you haven't tried one you will be surprised at the versatility . I can make it sound as delicate as a butterfly or as bad ass as an rhinoceros and everything in between . Let me not forget the Trem Bar. This is what breaks it out of the pack the wide sweeps low to high is amazing. Im not sure about the newer ones but this genre of the JM is untouchable. I think ever serious guitar player might consider this as part of your Entourage.
Thank you for this video. I am starting "Jazz Guitar School" next fall and have two jazz guitars currently in my cart at "Musicians Friend." I am buying a precious "Prussian Blue" Ibanez AS73 semi full low body to play at home and to carry back and forth to class, my "knockaround" guitar will be a Squier classic vibe '60's Jazz master in Surf Green! 😎
It’s refreshing to hear the Jazzmaster, any artists out there we can listen to that use the Jazzmaster in a way where you hear the whole profile of the guitar all the time ?
I had [sigh] a 1992, 62 reissue Jazzmaster exactly like this demo. Loved the rhythm circuit with the tone rolled back. Unfortunately life got in the way and I had to sell it. In June this year I bought a Pro II in Dark Night. The old feelings rushed back. The circuitry is different with the push pull switch, and the rhythm circuit is not the same, but I like it. The Jazzmaster has always and still has it's own unique tones. The early Fender Jazzmaster was the step child of Fender, only made in Japan, which I think hurt it's sales and popularity. It is now home in the USA where it should always have been.
That rhythm setting sounded lovely. I bailed when he said overdrive. Here's what you need to know about Jazzmaster: Walk Don't Run, 1960, The Ventures. The best-sounding guitar ever recorded.
I test drove 4 Jazzmasters a few years ago including this one. I opted for the original Fender Professional Series. I was really torn between this and the one I purchased. I’m thinking I might purchase this one as well.
I have to be honest, I like it best in the rhythm circuit..... but that is because I gravitate to a warmer and richer sound. I am not worried about cutting through a mix. I didn't care for it with the overdrive at all. It was just too muddy for my taste compared to other guitars in overdrive (though that is not my go to either). Thanks for the video and great playing. Cheers!
Amazing review and playing... I really want to get a JM! i'm looking for a quality guitar that's got good intonation, that all the chords sound in tune no matter what inversion or how high or low in the fret board one plays (my current guitar no matter how much I try setting it up, I even got it re-fretted by a professional, it still sounds a bit out in certain parts of the fret board or when playing some open string chords) Does the JM have good intonation, does it hold in tune when using the tremolo? Thanks
"It's complicated". JMs are not famous for tuning stability. It can be done but there are a lot of ways to set up the bridge and trem that affect stability. A JM wouldn't be my first choice for your criteria. Intonation on my (also professionally setup) AV65 JM is okay but not perfect.
Thought the presentation was very good. I have a 1961 Jassmaster that I bought new in 61. My only regret is that I didn't keep playing it on a regular basis and today my fingers just can't seem to do what I want them to do. Sucks to get old.
Thank you for the video. I want this exact sound, what is the guitar I should ask for, just Fender Jazzmaster? any release date in particular? any pickup settup name in particular? Thanks to whoever may help me with this.
I know everyone's favorite is either a Tele or Les Paul. But i truly think that Jazzmaster is on a different level and only few can truly love this guitar. Proud to have fallen in love with this Jazzmaster😍
That tone is what I like most about it. Really different from the standard tele/strat tone.
The tremolo and the pickup design are superior to other Fenders IMHO not to mention it has nice soft curves and is ergonomic compared to Teles which are just uncomfortable. Leos best design!
@W B yes, teles are quite uncomfortable to play when seating. Been thinking to sell mine and buy this one instead.
i guess Im asking randomly but does anybody know a way to log back into an Instagram account??

jazzmaster neck pickups in general are sexy as fuck

I noticed that, stopped, went back to watch that again!
Such a smooth transition back & forth 👏🏻👏🏻
I definitely had to run it back!
Finally someone who can actually play on a jazzmaster demo. Thank you. It sounds unbelievable.
You can never fully appreciate the JM until you have actually played one. Totally different from a Stat or Tele they have a beautiful purity of tone but can also do the rough stuff. Great demo Cooper.
Well said

Love the tones from the Rhythm circuit
I just bought a Jazzmaster (with dual P-90s), it will arrive on Friday. Been wanting one for years.
Same reason I like this video
Not enough comments about how great this guy's hair is damn
I can't change my hair but I can buy the guitar

yeah, but talent is just an empty box without practise
They nailed it with this. That sounds like a jazzmaster is supposed to sound. Looks damn good too
Appreciate it!
@@AlamoMusic Hey guys! Could yo make a review face to face between JM 60 vs JM 65 vs JM ultra. I will really appreciate it ♥
Hands down one of, if not the absolute best JM demos I've heard. Bravo mate, I think I might be sold

Gotta say this is the first showcase of a guitar that got the point across.. Thank you for that.
The guitar is cool, but that little trick at 3:44 where he hit the open low string while bending that higher note was sneaky and cool. Stealing it.
I'm a proud Jazzmaster player - American Pro Silverburst. I appreciate the shoegaze shout out, because shoegaze is often slept on.
Yep gaze on bro

Cooper's phrasing is fantastic! Excellent demo 👏
Such a great JM demo.
Cooper, great video. I have a 65 original same color as the one in the video that I've owned since I was 16 (75 now). It's still a great guitar.

I got the 40th anniversary in lake placid and it rips pull the plug and get it
I like that bit you played when demonstrating the bridge pickup.
that natural tone is so sick
Dude can really play. Sounds great!
Came to see the guitar but ended up blown up by this dude's guitar playing
Wow. I just experienced love at first note.
Is the playing that starts at 1:50 from any particular song? Sounds amazing.
Great demo....I’ve just bought the Troy van Leeuwen signature model in copper aged and love it. 🤘
Man this guy can play!
Never gave this the time of day. Curious, I bought a used Classic Vibe Jazzmaster (into my 65 PR), ohhhhh damn it's SOOOOOO nice!!! Makes me happy :)

just one great demo. little bit of "the nuge" with overdrive! great playing. great tone.

Great technique with the hand my man.
That neck pickup tho. And the playing. Bout to move to SA... ill be seeing yall soon
